NO? Is that ‘no’ to AMK, Don, or to Monday, or to the fact that March is ending and it still isn’t Spring, or is it an existential cry to the universe that you’re not giving in.
Gee, Don, I was hoping it was some great existential cry because I had a full on tantrum this morning about the fact that the antibiotic I took last week has caused more problems than it solved. My poor husband had to endure a big rant about how I was mad as hell and wasn’t going to take it anymore. Of course, I haven’t yet come up with an alternative.
France’s opposition conservative UMP Party has made big gains in local elections, at the expense of the ruling Socialists.
The UMP, led by ex-President Nicolas Sarkozy, boosted the number of councils it controls from 40 to 67 in the vote.
President Francois Hollande’s Socialists and other leftists won 34 councils – down from 61 previously.
Marine Le Pen’s far-right National Front (FN) won at least 60 seats but failed to get control of any council.
///
Half of the 40-million-strong French electorate abstained from voting – a figure that was, however, better than the 55.3% abstention rate in the last local elections in 2011.
Couldn’t believe when I saw a while ago that Sarkozy was still skulking around, looking to get back in power – why don’t these characters just crawl away and leave everyone in peace?
Just relieved the National Front didn’t do better, after upping the hate/fear after Charlie Hebdo I was afraid they’d romp home.
Chips, Sarkozy seems to have gone to the same school of bitter men that McCain did. Some people just can’t accept that their time on the stage is OVER and people are sick of them. I’ve never had one single good thought about GW Bush, but at least he has largely shut his mouth since he left office unless his mega creepy former VP.
Thanks, Chips:) I’ll be fine once I GET there, it’s just the getting up really early and having to get going part that gets to me, not being at work….I like lounging!
Here’s the thing, Df. Even when you’re retired, you will find a reason why you have to get up early and get something done. I have more places I need to get to and things I need to get done since I retired some years ago than I did when I was working. It’s human nature to fill time this way.
Never mind the nuclear talks, the big news: that photo of PBO I posted last night showing him holding the rails as he got off AF1? And I said my mother’s campaign had finally succeeded?
As if the first angle wasn’t good enough….I thought he handled that brilliantly. I’d have let gravity take over and been bouncing down the stairs. I’m sure of it.
That’s our guy! ( I ALWAYS hold the rail when I walk down the stairs…i must have had some traumatic thing happen to me as a child….I’m jealous of anyone that can pop down the stairs at a pace w/o holding on!)
Chips, I thought he seemed a little annoyed with himself after that little slip. He prides himself on his ability to be agile and I saw a brief look of consternation on this face. By the way, isn’t this the week the White House has a seder for Passover? Is that on the president’s agenda?
I know what he was thinking, Jackie: “Damn it, Mrs Chipsticks will be protesting outside the White House after this.”
It was a very sparse looking week ahead schedule, they just had the President attending meetings at the WH Tuesday to Friday – which probably means something HUGE will happen. Didn’t see any mention of the seder, but it might appear on the schedule yet.
Calm, Cool and Collected.
Never missing a step 😉
I just knew that the Media would try to make a fuss. It is what a bankrupt Enterprise does these days.
Good West Coast morning Chipsticks & TOD family.
Chips, when you rule the world, please give us one holiday a month that we can take off with pay. I’m In need of it now!
GGail, since this is Easter week, can you claim religious fervor and take this Friday off? No one can say it isn’t so because no one can presume to see into your heart.
Mooooooooooorning GGail!! Actually, when I rule the world we’ll only work one day a month, the rest of it will be chilling out time – with pay. Do I have your vote?
Wow. I had read about this on Sunday……then it was unconfirmed.
Today, REALITY happens.
Trevor was in Dublin or was it Dubai when he got the Call?
I wish him the very best. I hope he pushes the envelop and let it all hang out…..Let the Chips fall where they may 🙂
desperation, df, desperation. It’s one of the poorstates with the rich minerals like coal, bauxite, limestone etc. It has been forever looted by greedy business-corrupt pols nexus for decades while doing zilch for the locals. Compared to their cheating, this is nothing.
Fox had John Sanunu on…per Mediaite and the Bigoted Racist is already making another Birther Comment. This guy is a Lebanese/Cuban/American……a former Gov. What a bat poop of a GOPer.
His trip will build on the success of the August 2014 US-Africa Leaders’ Summit and continue our efforts to work with countries in sub-Saharan Africa, including Kenya, to accelerate economic growth, strengthen democratic institutions and improve security,” the White House also said in a statement.
FURST.
NO!!!!!!!!!!
NO? Is that ‘no’ to AMK, Don, or to Monday, or to the fact that March is ending and it still isn’t Spring, or is it an existential cry to the universe that you’re not giving in.
😆 I just took it as a cry of injustice from Don in response to Amk’s FURST, but now that you say it Jackie, it could be any of those!
Gooooood morning to ya!
No to Monday, Jackie.
Gee, Don, I was hoping it was some great existential cry because I had a full on tantrum this morning about the fact that the antibiotic I took last week has caused more problems than it solved. Please excuse my manners, congratulations amk.
Thanks Don.
See, bt? #thatiscalledbeinggraceful
Good morning. The Iran talks are giving me nervous palpitations. All fingers and toes crossed for the next two days.
Same here, I just don’t see a deal not getting done………hopefully.
Good Morning. Don’t worry Jackie…….this is all media driven.
I see McTurtle is in Israel to hold Bibi’s hand and comfort him.
Oh, Lord, Linda. The idea of McTurtle and Bibi together makes me want to regurgitate my breakfast.
Good Morning BFF and TOD.
These guys are personal fluffers for Bibi.

Oh, McCain is the perfect example Jackie, that pitiful inability to know your time is friggin’ up!
Good Morning, Everyone 🙂
Morning everyone:) I’m with Don about Monday…been on Spring Break for the last week. Today it’s back to work. Hard to get too excited this morning:)
DF, the only consolation I can offer you is that soon enough it’ll be Tuesday – hang in there! Good morning to ya!
Thanks, Chips:) I’ll be fine once I GET there, it’s just the getting up really early and having to get going part that gets to me, not being at work….I like lounging!

As if the first angle wasn’t good enough….I thought he handled that brilliantly. I’d have let gravity take over and been bouncing down the stairs. I’m sure of it.
He did DF. Then he ran down the stairs with no hands! Ha!
That’s our guy! ( I ALWAYS hold the rail when I walk down the stairs…i must have had some traumatic thing happen to me as a child….I’m jealous of anyone that can pop down the stairs at a pace w/o holding on!)
Me too DF. And all the time going down, I’m thinking to myself, don’t trip!!
that was an amazing save! he even slips better than most people.
Smoothest save ever, 4More, but I’m still not letting my mother see it!

Former Israeli Prime Minister Ehud Olmert has been found guilty of fraud and breach of trust after a retrial.
He had been acquitted in 2012 of taking envelopes stuffed with money from a US-based supporter.
However, a retrial was ordered after the emergence of recordings in which he referred to receiving the money.
Olmert, who served as Israeli PM from 2006 to 2009, is currently appealing a conviction for bribery in 2014 for which he was sentenced to six years.

Chris Rock for the win!
The whiners whine. Hahahahahahahahaha
The 31-year-old made his debut as a contributor to the nightly satirical show last December.
His first appearance took aim at racial tensions in the US, saying: “I never thought I’d be more afraid of police in America than in South Africa.”

More than 1,000 men have reportedly been arrested in India’s Bihar state for impersonating candidates in physical fitness tests for the police.
The men had been hired to pass themselves off as the candidates, according to the state police.
The arrests were made over the last fortnight, as documents produced by the men were found to have been falsified.
