      Key excerpt:

โ€œWhat Senator Cotton did is a gross breach of discipline, and especially as a veteran of the Army, he should know better,โ€ Eaton told me. โ€œI have no issue with Senator Cotton, or others, voicing their opinion in opposition to any deal to halt Iranโ€™s nuclear progress. Speaking out on these issues is clearly part of his job. But to directly engage a foreign entity, in this way, undermining the strategy and work of our diplomats and our Commander in Chief, strains the very discipline and structure that our foreign relations depend on, to succeed.โ€ The consequences of Cottonโ€™s missive were plainly apparent to Eaton. โ€œThe breach of discipline is extremely dangerous, because undermining our diplomatic efforts, at this moment, brings us another step closer to a very costly and perilous war with Iran,โ€ he said.

โ€œI think Senator Cotton recognizes this, and he simply does not care,โ€ Eaton went on to say. โ€œThatโ€™s what disappoints me the most.โ€

The only mistake Eaton made was when he said “he simply does not care.” In fact, Cotton cares very much that this brings us closer to a war with Iran. That is the whole purpose of this escapade.

If they weren’t out fundraising and going on TV talk shows all the time, they’d have plenty of time to do their jobs…..McCain is digging deeper, and deeper and deeper. He does not know when to shut up.
I’m still waiting for McConnell’s excuse. He’s been very quiet.

      • March 13, 2015 at 11:34 am

I know; right?!?!?! Not to mention that they are getting paid well for this. If they stopped spending so much time on the superfluous stuff and stay in their lane [stop trying to be the POTUS], they’d have plenty of time to do what they SHOULD be doing… both the legislators and their aides.

Since Gingrich (this hyper-partisanship started with him), Congressional staffs have been cut a lot. They have partisan hacks on the payroll, but the civil servants who used to do the job of reading and researching, etc. – they barely exist anymore. Another reason why Stupid reigns: they no longer have comprehensive information provided to them. It’s disgraceful.

    • March 13, 2015 at 10:36 pm

So busy, worried about possible snow, meant to be a letter to the President etc. seems the Congress with more days off historically than ever before is more worried about getting out of town than actually doing their job. Not a comment helpful for being elected. Of course when the term is six years and you have been elected recently why worry about the effects of poor job performance?

Thanks for posting the clips from Jimmy Kimmel My husband and I watched and listened to all of them, and it was good for my husband’s pneumonia recovery! He enjoyed them…..which means he is improving. Of course, who could not enjoy those clips!
PBO is just too good, which drives the RWNJs crazy. They know he is smarter, classier, sharper than they are, and get angry with him because of that, and that he has the audacity not to be 100% white, after all White males are the superior beings of the planet…..pitiful.

One thought on the blatant racism which has bubbled to the top since 2009. Remember “political correctness” and the yells about that. These racists are the kind of people who used to yell ‘retard” at mentally handicapped people, and resented having to say mentally handicapped; they are the ones who yelled “crip” at people on walkers or crutches, or who limped, and do not like to say disabled…..the list goes on and on. The latent racism and hatred has been legitimized by on air speech, so they feel empowered now. Disgusting people.

I still think Justice Brandeis is correct: Sunlight is the best disinfectant. At some time this had to come out into the light, and whoever was our first minority president was going to bear the brunt. Fortunately for us, that person is the strong, determined, classy, brilliant, compassionate PBO.

    • March 13, 2015 at 3:06 pm

      Carolyn,
I am so glad that you and your husband enjoyed the videos and that he is feeling better,
I agree with everything you said…..but as an Afro American raised during the Jim Crow Era, my parents never ever told us that WE were a minority. I think that is one of the problems.
When another human being feels superior over another whether it is a caste system, monarch or dynasty there will always be inequality.

So maybe if we start to thinking differently about this minority/majority issue, start right there with that dialogue we can start the healing process that we all need to move not only this country FOWARD but human beings as well.
We were taught as children that there were more people of color in the world and than any other.
As a result, we were taught never to call ourselves this and correct those who do feel the need to call us a minority to correct them kindly. If it was necessary, back it up with history. My parents were very proud of our rich history and we were taught at home what the schools failed to do. They did not leave that responsibility up to a system that was designed to hate a group of people because of the color of their skin.
As we all know civilization began in Africa, so what is the problem?

That is is best. This blog is the best for telling what is going on in Montana. The problem with Montana Democrats is that they are emoprogs. They want perfection in the President and I also believe some of them are closet racists. They really don’t seem to support this President, mostly because he doesn’t do all that they think he should. Many go to the big orange site, DK. It is frustrating.

      http://intelligentdiscontent.com/2015/03/12/republican-conception-of-liberty-at-the-montana-legislature/

      Montana Republicans believe that:

private corporations and individuals should enjoy the financial freedom to purchase and develop public lands and the land held by Montana Indian nations.

multinational banking conglomerates, the same people who exercised their freedom to crash the global economy in 2008, have the liberty to lie to consumers about their home loans.

students in Montana schools should have the liberty to develop life-changing measles, polio, and whooping cough.

those same students should have the liberty to not learn college and career ready educational standards.

college students should have the freedom to fear their college campuses will become overrun with gun zealots eager to prove their masculinity by carrying weapons to their Intro to Sociology classes.

Montanans should be free to bring guns into every place in the state, from churches to bars.

the poor should enjoy the freedom from pesky needs like adequate food and equal protection under the law.

70,000 Montanans should continue to enjoy lives without access to adequate health care, leading to crippling diseases and constant fear about their financial future, just as dozens of Montana communities may soon enjoy being free of local medical services.

Montana women should be free to let conservative men make critical health care decisions for them, no matter what science and basic human dignity say.

Montana law enforcement officers should be free to arrest doctors who provide end-of-life autonomy to patients.

parents have the liberty not to pay child support.

Glad to be awake to pop in and say hello.

    Y’all good?

    • March 13, 2015 at 11:28 am

Miiiiiiiiiighty fine to see ya GB, I hope you got some sleep on that bed of yours?!

      • March 13, 2015 at 11:47 am

Eh. I slept. I propped myself up, way up, so my upper back would hurt so much. It helped only a wee wee bit. Still came out to my desk and went back to sleep in my chair. The chair still better. smh.

Looking into getting an adjustable bed. In the meantime, I bought a fancy mattress topper. Hope it helps.

By the way, Chips, I love the way you and BWD interact on twitter. Y’all are so funny and clever. Lol. ๐Ÿ™‚ ๐Ÿ™‚ ๐Ÿ™‚

        • March 13, 2015 at 11:53 am

Damn it GB, it’s horrible that you can’t get a good night’s sleep – is there any kind of bed/mattress you can get that would make things better?

As for BWD, she struggles soooooooo hard to hide her love for me, but she slips up occasionally – usually early morning when she’s sleepy ๐Ÿ™‚

          • March 13, 2015 at 1:21 pm

I’ve spoken with others in my situation (breast cancer that has spread to the bones) and they recommended that I go to a mattress showroom and try out an adjustable bed. I also have to keep my feet elevated when sleeping and the beds are known to help with joint/back pain. They also rec’d a foam mattress topper. I ordered a topper and now I’m looking into pillows for back sleepers.

            Hoping these work. ๐Ÿ™‚

            • March 13, 2015 at 1:33 pm

Crikey GB, what an effort to find what you need – are there any specialist bed/mattress suppliers near you who deal specifically with these kind of needs?

              • March 13, 2015 at 5:57 pm

A few, actually. Not hard to find. More popular than I thought. I’ve always seen them as luxury items but now learning that some people really need the features offered.

        • March 13, 2015 at 12:31 pm

Oh, it’s awful not to have restful sleep! I hope you find a good solution soon so you can catch up.

If this doesn’t make you cry and/or make you hang your head in shame for being an American, I don’t know what will.

While I sympathize with the #BostonBombing victims (which happened to fall on my BD — a that nearly every American hates and is in a bad mood, Lincoln died and the Titanic sunk) I am sick of the hourly coverage of the trial on CBS radio news.

I am more appalled and fearful of incidents like this, and what happened in Chapel Hill last month to those bright young (teenager and her sister/BIL who were nearly teens themselves, yet had accomplished so much, and had so much more to contribute to this country and the world) ) US citizens.

      From the article:
“Relatives say Al-Jumaili fled violence in his homeland to reunite with his wife in the U.S. He’d been in Texas just three weeks when he was shot while snapping snow photos in the parking lot of an apartment complex.”

A group of 104 legal scholars and immigration law instructors signed a statement calling the Texas judge’s decision that blocked President Barack Obama’s immigration executive action “deeply flawed.”

In their statement provided to NBC News and made public Friday, the group argued that the executive action programs that would have shielded millions from deportation and provided them permission to work “are well within the legal authority of the federal executive.”

    Hi, TOD.
The Vice clip on the previous thread is great.
Vice is run by Shane Smith who is interviewing POTUS.
The executive producer is Bill Maher.
Vice is on HBO Sundays just after Bill and on the VICE website.
Be sure to see Shane’s interview with VP Biden done last week and I cannot wait to see the entire interview with PBO on Sunday.
