“appeared to use.” – NBC thinks its being slick. She did not appear to use racial slurs. She used racial slurs. She’s happily saying n-word, n-word, over and over again. There is no getting around that.

My sister went to Coolidge in the early 60s. We lived right near Walter Reed Hospital, about three blocks off 16th St. I rode the bus from Georgia down 16th to work…..during the college summers I transferred to Main Navy on Constitution Ave, where the Viet Nam Memorial is now, then after college to the Senate Office Bldg.
My sister’s high school education was superb. She had Ph.D.s for some classes and had friends from around the world. It was very cosmopolitan.

    In completely non-political news:

Perhaps it was the pre-game build-up and the litany of references to the past that did it. Maybe it was the cinematic quality of the memories: the violence, the drama, the entertainment. Whatever the reason, as Monday night’s FA Cup quarter-final between Manchester United and Arsenal developed, it was hard not to pine for what went before. The clash was a slugfest, devoid of any inspiration or stand-out individuals. But perhaps most worryingly of all was the realization that the two clubs, not long ago bitter rivals, arch-enemies and consistent winners, are now struggling to stay relevant.

The more I look at Sen. Tom Cotton the more I’m convinced that this wasn‘t his play. I just don’t see a first year Senator from Arkansas being this much invested in a nuclear deal with Iran one way or the other. This stunt is in the wheelhouse of a McCain or a Graham, but not some dope from Arkansas. This guy has that dear in the headlights look. This is someone else’s play, Cotton just happened to be the guy that agreed to be the face of this thing.

      • March 10, 2015 at 8:04 pm

Feel the same way…or it could be anyone of Cotton’s benefactors….Koch for instance…someone who would tell him just what to do…and who the rest of the Senators may be beholden to

    http://www.mediaite.com/online/two-ou-students-expelled-for-racist-frat-chants/

    —————————————————
In a statement to the school, Boren said he was “extremely proud” of the way that the school and its alumni community had acted in response to the video. “I hope the entire nation will join us in having zero tolerance of such racism when it rears its ugly head in other situations across our country,” he added.
    —————————————————

Very good that he brought up “other situations across our country” – and leaves people to compare his actions vs. the actions (not) taken in those other situations.

I am going to bet that because regular citizens are taking the GOP to the woodshed and the GOP in Congress are looking really really ignorant and incapable of doing anything right, the next course of action is for the GOP to send out their msm minions to try to force POTUS into to weighing in on whether or not the 47 who sent the letter are traitors.

They are going to bet that POTUS because he is gracious will say no they are not traitors.

As a result the republicans will spin hard to say — see POTUS said we aren’t traitors so stop calling us that.

It is so predictable, if I could monetize that I would request just S1.00 for each person that tries to push that meme to try to justify the Republicans f*ckup.

I still think that the GOP should be held accountable for putting our country at risk and they should receive immediate and strong disciplinary action.

It’ll be interesting to see where PBO’s approval goes the next few days. From what I’ve seen around the web, the condemnation of this is nearly universal which is quite amazing in this day and age. And it makes it nearly impossible for Dems to sign onto any R sponsored bill on this topic, they would be slaughtered. But hey, you’ve got the presidential hopeful idiots like Perry and Jindal who can’t wait to jump on the bandwagon. Go for it!

NW, thank you for this. In the midst of the other things, it is wonderful to see these photos. The contrast between PBO’s demeanor and Hillary’s is stark. Hard to see her generating this kind of excitement.

A jury awarded Marvin Gaye’s children nearly $7.4 million Tuesday after determining singers Robin Thicke and Pharrell Williams copied their father’s music to create “Blurred Lines,” the biggest hit song of 2013.

Gaye’s daughter Nona Gaye wept as the verdict was read and was hugged by her attorney.

I wonder how many lawyers PBO and Holder have working on the 47Taliban and the Logan Act. As we know, neither one of them does anything quickly, does not shoot from the hip. When they act, all their ducks will be in a row, and they will know exactly what should be.
I think I’m going to write an email to the White House stating my deep concern, and request that the DOJ bring these people up in violation of the Logan Act. I’m certainly not going to demand, but politely state my deep concern and request.
However, PBO, to me, is the top constitutional lawyer……but his time is taken up, so others will have to work hard and long.

Probably nothing. From what I can tell, the general consensus among legal minds is that although this is borderline against the Logan Act, it probably does not fall under that. And it does not meet the standard of treason. Besides, if it was one or two senators, that would be one thing, but if they tried to go after 47, the sympathy would be on the 47’s side.

Better that nothing be done, take care of and finish the negotiations, etc.

These congresscritters don’t get it. The President is the only one elected by the country as a whole, not in a state or a district. Therefore, he is the one who can speak for the entire country in international affairs. Constitutionally, international diplomacy is the purview of the Executive branch, headed by the President. What about that is so difficult to comprehend? I know, I know, huge egos, and hatred of the man in the White House……They are SO wrong!
