I’m just arriving, but I’m guessing Chips is attending the services for her colleague today. Sending her love and hugs to get through it.

Thank you, NW, for today’s efforts – and all of your efforts!

By the way, those two tweets are an amazing condemnation of Netanyahu. Why does he keep getting re-elected?????

Love this comment by someone at politicususa referring to Boehner bringing a clean DHS funding bill to the House floor:

    And so…
    The orange guy caves
    The black guy wins
And the brown guy still has a shot at fair civic participation.

    Nice..

Here is Senator Bob Casey’s explanation for attending Bibi’s speech.

Thank you for contacting me regarding the Israeli Prime Minister’s address to Congress. I appreciate hearing from you about this issue.

In January 2015, the House of Representatives’ leadership invited the current Prime Minister of Israel, Benjamin Netanyahu, to address a joint session of Congress.

Israel is a friend and indispensable partner in the Middle East and the bond between our two countries has been and always will be unbreakable. Israel’s security and that of the United States are inextricably linked. Nothing should divert attention from the foreign policy issues our two countries are facing: the nuclear negotiations with Iran, the ongoing conflict in Syria, recent terrorist attacks in Europe and the threat from Hamas and Hezbollah. Therefore, I will attend the Prime Minister’s speech on March 3, 2015.

Again, thank you for sharing your thoughts with me. Please do not hesitate to contact me in the future about this or any other matter of importance to you.

For more information on this or other issues, I encourage you to visit my website, http://casey.senate.gov. I hope you will find this online office a comprehensive resource to stay up-to-date on my work in Washington, request assistance from my office or share with me your thoughts on the issues that matter most to you and to Pennsylvania.

    Sincerely,
    Bob Casey
    United States Senator

P.S. If you would like to respond to this message, please use the contact form on my website: http://casey.senate.gov/contact/

In other words, Jer, he didn’t answer the question. There’s some stock answer in the file under Israel that an assistant pulls out whenever anything is asked about the country. Too bad someone in Casey’s office didn’t take the time to answer the real question about why Democrats are enabling Boehner to violate the Logan Act.

I’d prefer we look at that as a one-way ticket, Snowden!

      • 45 jackiegrumbacher
        March 3, 2015 at 2:51 pm

I certainly agree with that. He chose the path of becoming a traitor and finding a home in Russia. He has to put on his big boy pants now and live with that decision. I hope the US negotiators offer him nothing. If he wants to come to the US, he has to suffer the full impact of the law against treason.

          March 3, 2015 at 3:02 pm

And I’m not even sure we’ll ever know the full extent of the damage he’s done. Throw the book at him!

        • March 3, 2015 at 3:32 pm

He’s clearly not a whistleblower so let’s see how he’ll be tried if he does come back. I hope he rots in Russia.

Still doesn’t matter. She is the SOS. Who in their right mind does Top Secret Government business using a personal email that is not protected?

At my job, we are not permitted to send anything work related using our personal email. We could be fired or sued if data got out to the wrong source.

So the date things went into law is not relevant. Using a personal account to conduct Top Secret business is idiotic and sows bad judgement.

Thank God Barack Obama is still president of the USA!

sometimes it’s all that gets me (us) thru the never-ending nonsense from conservatives the world over.

  22. March 3, 2015 at 2:54 pm

^What Bibi already also knows is that Congress has already checked out of the process in its zeal to undercut the President, forcing the president to negotiate the agreement in a way that would be enforceable without Congress’ political paws.

If this weren’t the case, there would be no need for Boehner to humiliate himself in an attempt to humiliate the president, and there would be no reason for Netanyahu to risk his relationships with this president by accepting the invitation. The reason they had to do it now is because they are desperate. And they are desperate because they know “world powers” respect, trust and follow this president.^

Neal Boortz, what told me alot about John Lewis is when he stood there as whites nearly beat him to death because he was marching for blacks to have their civil rights.

Please take the time to watch the segment above with the President and FLOTUS talking about the global initiative to help girls learn. The President had me in tears when he talked about his daughters and Mrs. O was nothing short of magnificent. They are so adorable together. And somebody please tell me whether that was Australia’s Julia Girard in the audience or just a dead ringer for her. No one at the podium mentioned her.

jackieg I’m so with you. It was just beautiful to hear the President speak about his daughters and how he sees them and what he wants for them, followed by FLOTUS’ passion, vision and stories. The most powerful moment for me was their presence together and the awesomeness of a man who truly loves and respects a fierce woman. In that moment, I could see FLOTUS as POTUS and POTUS as FGOTUS. I know this will never happen but it was a thought that rose out of that beautiful moment.

Yes, idon, they’re both so strong, brilliant and capable, I could see them exchange places and keep the whole country running smoothly for another eight years. Of course, I know Michelle O has no interest in this.

I remember saying last week after the Friday debacle, that Nancy Smash had Boehner by the nose hairs. She did. Also remember Michael Steele went on some program and said there was no deal, the Republicans would not pass this clean funding bill, etc., etc., ad nauseam from the right. Well, Nancy did it, All Democrats voted for the bill, and John boy should just go home.
