Seeking to damage any American President by helping a foreign leader embarrass our own leader can never be considered something that is best for the nation. And that is simply the truth no matter what your political persuasion or your feelings about the current occupant of the Oval Office.

White House sources are suggesting that John Boehner’s strategy of picking a fight with the president over his immigration executive actions has backfired and led to Boehner and Mitch McConnell giving Obama 99% of what he wants.

    Politico reported:

The key takeaway, they say: The argument that Obama could change the dysfunctional relationship with Congress by reaching out more to House Republicans appears to be dead. And even if Republicans eventually pass a funding bill clean of any restrictions on the president’s immigration executive actions or anything else, Obama comes out looking like the adult in Washington, and Republicans look like they are incapable of governing.

“The only reason is that it’s not the best possible outcome is that they didn’t pass the full-year funding,” an Obama aide said, reflecting on what happened Friday night. “The fact that they’re going to next week, and that we avoided a shutdown, was 99 percent of what we wanted.”

I love that they’re throwing the “99% of what we wanted quote” back in Boehner’s face! The GOP keeps crashing into walls. The saner members of the party have to be more and more disgusted. When the likes of Peter King tell you to cut the crap…

I see we have three days of “meetings at the White House” and the day Bibi comes, the Prez and First Lady have a benign sounding schedule about keeping girls in school……….well, hmmmmmmm, something is going to happen.

What is even more fascinating is that the DHS funding deal expires in one week, and by Friday night we might be back where we started at. But for the White House to come out before Boehner has even put the bill up for a vote says a lot about where the White House thinks it stands. The White House doesn’t usually make people eat shit publicly, but in Boehner’s case they are making an exception.

Private police carry guns and make arrests, and their ranks are swelling
By Justin Jouvenal February 28 at 7:48 PM

Michael Youlen stopped a driver in a Manassas apartment complex on a recent night and wrote the man a ticket for driving on a suspended license. With a badge on his chest and a gun on his hip, Youlen gave the driver a stern warning to stay off the road.

The stop was routine police work, except for one fact: Youlen is not a Manassas officer. The citation came courtesy of the private force he created that, until recently, he called the “Manassas Junction Police Department.”

He is its chief and sole officer.

He is a force of one.

And he is not alone. Like more and more Virginians, Youlen gained his police powers using a little-known provision of state law that allows private citizens to petition the courts for the authority to carry a gun, display a badge and make arrests. The number of “special conservators of the peace” — or SCOPs, as they are known — has doubled in Virginia over the past decade to roughly 750, according to state records.

The growth is mirrored nationally in the ranks of private police, who increasingly patrol corporate campuses, neighborhoods and museums as the demand for private security has increased and police services have been cut in some places

    http://www.washingtonpost.com/local/crime/private-police-carry-guns-and-make-arrests-and-their-ranks-are-swelling/2015/02/28/29f6e02e-8f79-11e4-a900-9960214d4cd7_story.html

Boehner said, “Well, because the president took actions with regard to immigration that were far beyond what the law allows him to do. You have to remember, John that the president said twenty-two times, twenty-two that he couldn’t do what he eventually did.

I am still waiting for a Republican or one of their mouth pieces or any media person to prove that statement. If I recall, PBO has said he cannot change the LAW. And he is NOT doing that.

This is coming from a medical doctor. One career in which science plays a majority portion of what you learn and know to be factual. Yet this shit comes out of his mouth. “Yet this shit comes out of his mouth.” Yes. Remember my sharing couple weeks ago about a good friend who insisted I read his book and she went on and on about how informed he is on so many subjects. Gawd!!!! This is downright scary. It is beyond scary. And, as you pointed out, df, the media lets…..and encourages, these idiots to say these things.

    • March 1, 2015 at 2:55 pm

These crazy voices..yes i am calling them crazy…have always existed ..what has happened is with the aid of the MSM they have become mainstream….i looked thru my twitter feed today…and noticed that every crazy statement be it from the RW or the Left….gets a play…the crazier the better…all of them screaming for attention which the MSM gladly obliges them….

…folks have tuned out the noise…and those who vote have not been suppressed just don’t vote….

there is coverage of the CPAC…and its craziest…without calling out the craziness….

I remember a coworker telling me I should go and read up on Mr. Nine-Nine-Nine so I could get a better understanding of who and what he was, I told my coworker that Mr. Nine-Nine-Nine told me all I needed to know about him when he opened his mouth. Dr. Carson would now have you believe that all his medical training was bullshit and that the only thing he needed to do brain surgery was some good scripture. Whatever high esteem Dr. Carson was held in has been forever lost, he is now no better than one of those preachers that walk around in church carrying snakes and talking in tongues.
