Yes. I wonder, though, with the delay in approving the nomination of Loretta Lynn, that AG Holder may be there as long as PBO.

Yet again, you shine NW!!! Thank you!!

If I remember correctly, deciding not to report campus rapes is not an option. Part of a federal mandate for campus safety reporting.

This is a special brotherhood going on here. PBO has been very emotion today and a few weeks ago when announcing AG Holder’s departure. They are contemporaries – two brilliant AA lawyers who are fighting for civil rights and dignity for all. It was a privilege to watch today’s ceremony. I doubt we will ever see such a thing at this level again. XOXOXOXO

“A special brotherhood” – That is the term. The send off today was emotional and a joy to witness. The respect, love, admiration, friendship, and loyalty President Obama and Attorney General Holder have for each other is an honor to have witnessed these past years. They are both great men indeed.

I wish him well in everything he does going forward.

  17. February 27, 2015 at 9:12 pm

Just brilliant Nerdy, thank you for this wonderful round-up.

Got some gutwrenching news today, a work colleague died suddenly last night after playing a game of soccer – he was just 36, a father of three, the eldest seven, the youngest born only last week. Seven days old when his Dad died. I can’t even begin to imagine the pain his wife is enduring.

He was the sweetest, kindest, most generous fella you’d ever meet, with a heart of gold. And he made me roar with laughter, he was a rascal with a big cheeky grin. And more than anything in the world, he loved being a Dad.

I can’t begin to comprehend the cruelty of him being taken away from his kids and his wife who he adored. I just can’t.

Years ago, my best mate in school was murdered, he was gay so he got little sympathy from the judge even in death, his killer only got three years and was out in less than two to resume his life.

I never thought I’d attend a more heartbreaking funeral, but next Tuesday will feel as unjust and cruel.

Please think of his wife and children tonight, I won’t ask any one to pray because right now any smidgeon of faith I ever had is drained.

    Night everyone.

That just brought a little moisture to my eye, Chips,, meant a lot. I already said a prayer for them and you – can’t hurt. You know I’m part Irish, maybe I expect stuff like this to happen because of it,, and I always picture these dear people in heaven eating ice cream, waiting for the rest of us to get to the party. Helps me miss them less. But that doesn’t mean I don’t recognize your pain. So sorry, my dear one.

    • February 28, 2015 at 8:55 pm

Although I lurk EVERYDAY, I had to comment today on this heart wrenching news…gone so young! I am totally in agreement with you that others who commit heinous crimes get to go on and live a long life while those who should be here are taken away so soon. May God bless his wife and kids and I hope he is in a much better place.

So sorry so hear about this loss. Hurts a lot although I do not know him, but the thought of those kids without a dad….

    Nancy Pelosi:

When will they ever learn? said Pelosi, speaking of the Speaker and his flock. Just take the shortest path to get the job done for the American people.

I don’t have any intention of getting involved in the politics of that caucus. They have enough trouble getting along with each other, I don’t think I should inject myself into that. Thank you all.

With these words, our dear Nancy Pelosi left behind the TODDLERS asking stupid questions.

Just heard Rachel say that a lot of Repugs have been booked on the Sunday shows this Sunday. They had intentions of bragging on how they defeated PBO. Karma is a B%%%%. My question to Rachel is how is this Sunday any different from other Sundays? They always book all Republicans.

I may be in the minority here in disagreeing with Nancy’s call to the dems to vote for the short-term. No way boner is gonna the senate bill to vote next week. Meanwhile, the fifth columnist fourth estate will paint the dems as joining hands with the teabagger nutsos.

amk I am with you on that. There is no reason why they can’t vote on a clean bill now.

unless she is convinced he can’t get the short term bill to pass and wants to expose that. I don’t see the value either.

doesn’t have votes for what? clean bill? I doubt it. In any case, why not bring it to the floor and test that theory? After all, his own senate ‘colleagues’ voted for it.

          • February 27, 2015 at 9:58 pm

He compromises his leadership, which he deems vastly more important than the nation’s business.

          • February 27, 2015 at 10:00 pm

House and Senate two very different animals. Boehner’s “leadership” is hanging by a thread, probably because who else would want it. The caucus is fractioned beyond belief and there is no control. Republicans are fighting for power with a wagon full of a bunch of idiots.

    http://www.stonekettle.com/2015/02/and-so-it-goes.html

Republicans took the Senate and increased their majority in the House. They got rid of the reviled Harry Reid and handed Mitch McConnell the gavel. They told us the gridlock was over, now they’d get things done. You remember this, right?

But, as always, conservatives can’t even agree on the things they agree on.

They can’t even achieve compromise within their own caucus when the security of the nation, supposedly their top priority, is on the the line.

Now, ask yourself something, if Republicans can’t even agree among themselves on something they already agree on, how then is their inability to compromise with the executive Obama’s fault?

The simple truth of the matter is that these intractable sons of bitches can’t govern themselves, let alone the rest of the country. It’s no wonder whatsoever why they can’t sway Democrats to their side in enough numbers to override a veto or to unite the nation, they can’t even convince themselves.

I don’t know if these Republicans can be trusted. I just don’t know. My only hope is that it is dealing with homeland security and no one want to put this country at any more risk then it already is. So we will see what will happen, but it is ashame that these kind of people are serving in Congress, what ashame. These Republicans are a bunch of radical right wing racists nuts.

  44. February 27, 2015 at 10:11 pm

I am surprised it took them that long. From watching each of them after the big elections night, I didn’t see any sane person among them. It’s a bunch of wacko-birds as McLoss said!

  45. February 27, 2015 at 10:19 pm

Is this how the GOP want people to see America’s EXCEPTIONALISM? With elected officials not doing their job, funding the security of the nation one week at a time after 5 votes? A Congress with only goal in mind: undermining the power, the prestige, the function of the Executive Branch?
