Morning Chips, who is probably feeling pretty Chippy this morning. And don’t let the negative ninnies take away the thrill of victory by saying that Ireland didn’t deserve the win and that it was because UAE was so bad.

Good morning Ms. Chips, Danny and TOD family, I hope everyone is doing well this lovely Wednesday morning. Congrats Donna, on being first this morning.

    To all, have a super-fantastic day today. ❤ ❤ ❤

Thank God that President Obama is still the President of The United States of America. ✩ ✩ ✩

The majority of British Muslims oppose violence against people who publish images depicting the Prophet Muhammad, a poll for the BBC suggests.

The survey also indicates most have no sympathy with those who want to fight against Western interests.

But 27% of the 1,000 Muslims polled by ComRes said they had some sympathy for the motives behind the Paris attacks.

Almost 80% said they had found it deeply offensive when images depicting the Prophet were published.

This is horrifying, Donna. I live near the sinkhole capital of PA and whole streets have fallen into the earth, including a section of a major state highway. This image is very real and possible around me.

Horrifying. I’m terrified of sink holes too. Does underground drilling contribute to that? There just seems to be so many more happening.

You’re hitting it out of the park today, AMK. I love these toons. I’m practicing meditation today, which should last all of two minutes.

It’s not yoga. It’s something an Indian swami taught us at a lecture yesterday–getting our minds free of distractions. Easy to say, hard to do. The college chef put on the most fantastic Indian spread with saffron rice, aloo gobi, chana daal and a chicken dish and there were exquisitely designed candies for dessert that were imported from India. Everyone was in a blissful haze when the discussion started.

Why does the pic ad say the Town Hall is at 8.0 ET, but it’s listed for 3:45 in PBO’s schedule? Is it not live on MSNBC/Telemundo?

    • 39 donna dem 4 obama
      February 25, 2015 at 8:04 am

It will air on Telemundo at 7 and MSNBC at 8 (for ratings) the actual townhall takes place at around 3:00 today.

I look forward to this as a chance for our president to give hope to immigrant families and stomach pains to Republicans who oppose giving anyone but themselves a break. The GOP propaganda machine has spread so many lies about the president’s executive order you would think he ordered full amnesty to all (honestly this is what I heard from Republicans). Nuance of any sort seems to escape Republican voters, along with any empathy. My own sister believes this is amnesty for millions and nothing I say can convince her otherwise. I’m really ashamed of the way that Americans have surrendered their brains to the propagandists.

That is why the major networks did not carry the speech live, so they could later lie about what PBO said.

‘Nuance of any sort seems to escape Republican voters, along with any empathy.’
The same can be said of their ‘leaders’.

Morning to you, JackieG! I trust the trip to MiL went well both in travel circumstances and in the actual visit.

G’morning Chps & TOD! Happy Wednesday everyone. Thanks Chips & Donna for the reminder on the immigration townhall today. I will hope to tune in if I can (not on MSNBC though). I hope it’s being livestreamed somewhere….

Unfortunately I believe the only place you will be able to see it will be on Telemundo or MSNBC. It is not on the WH livestream schedule as of now.

Thanks, Df. The creative spirit never dies! I hold to the belief that underneath all our piles of snow there are crocuses and early daffodils jutting up their stalks. I, however, won’t be seeing these miracles of nature until some great meteorological event chooses to melt the snow piles and soften the ground. We dream so that we do not weep.

    More about the Chicago election…

Not only has Rahm been forced into a runoff….

But 40% of the Alderman have been forced into a runoff….

The undecideds pretty much all went to Chuy.

In 37 out of the 50 wards, there was a non-binding referendum question about whether Chicago should have an ELECTED School Board. The lowest…I say the LOWEST percentage YES was 83%

    That was the lowest.

Would be interesting to compare how media described Condi Rice and Stephen Hadley during their tenure in the same role.

MSM is complicit in implying that President Obama is a tyrant/dictator, by diminishing the importance/clout of his managers, while elevating those of GWBush to near God-like status. Just about every report I hear on CBS radio network news about Ashton Carter is skewed to cast doubt that President Obama will likely cast a deaf ear to whatever the Pentagon Chief recommends.

        Drives me nuts.

MOOOrning, Chiparoo and TOD. So, I’m just chilling last night and some conservative decided to dump ignorance into my mentions. Normally, I block and move on, because having a rational fact based discussion gets nowhere with folks like him; but unfortunately for him, I was bored last night and decided to amuse myself. At some point, he began whining that he has a life and doesn’t need to read my drivel. Oh, really? Then why did he decide to crawl into my mentions with BS? Then for some weird reason, he went radio silent. Hmm…I wonder why. People had a lot of fun on Twitter last night reading my stream of tweets.

The moral of the story is, don’t come after me when I’m bored.

    • February 25, 2015 at 8:46 am

Nerdy, remind me never, ever, ever, ever to get in an argument with you. You have a string of wounded opponents behind you a mile long and you are the winner and still champ. Whatever awards, trophies, belts or victory symbols exist they are yours and yours alone.

NW, I so enjoyed that wonderful story about “Republican gods abandon @Natecancook” or “@Natecancook discovers his Republican gods lied to him about Reagan”. ROFL 😀 😀 😀

      • February 25, 2015 at 10:03 am

Nerdy Wonka, those right wing haters can not handle the facts. They sat on their behinds and listen to right wing hate radio, Fox so call news and believe everything they tell them. Then when you slap them in the face with the truth, they can’t handle it. After you inform him about Saint Reagen, did you see how that hater went from it’s not the number of vetoes that matter, it’s the level of importance. Then you just shut his freaking hating mouth up. NW I am proud of you. Good job.

Vicki, I am absolutely convinced that President Obama will emerge triumphant from this clumsy attempt to humiliate him. Those who try–Boehner, Netanyahu, the entire GOP delegation–will themselves be humiliated. They know not who they’re dealing with and never have. I have prayed fervently that the people of Israeli trash this obnoxious fool in his upcoming election. He is an odorous blot on their country and he is doing them no favors by continuing to alienate the US.

See upthread for Susan Rice’s unambiguous remarks on Netanyahu.

        @jeffreygoldberg’s tweet makes no sense.

We know in advance that the US MSM will rave and practically wet their pants in excitement with this year’s version of Bibi’s cartoon Iran-bomb presentation.

        So what?

Israel voters will cast their votes. Mossad and other groups revered by Israel hawks will weigh in. US Jewish rightwing organizations’ coffers will overflow with donations.

        So what?

I loathe the way our bloodthirsty MSM undermine every.single.thing this Administration does.

The democrats in congress are a bunch a wimps period. They ran away from the President in the midterms. They are sitting back and allowing a foreign leader to try to undermine the President. I say try because Netanyahu can’t. If this was a repub President the republicans would be raising all kinds of hell. Netanyahu is not the whole jewish community. The democrats are sickening. Nancy Pelosi and Harry Reid need to tell them not to attend.

Bibi musn’t be allowed to overshadow the recent Giant successes such as Yay! Veto of the Keystone pipeline!
    Net Neutrality Lives!
Obamacare enrollment edging upwards fro 32 Million!
    DHS funding will happen.
Immigration action may be slightly delayed but it is very much going to happen!

Probably it would be best if I could brush Bibi off just as if he was no more than a pesky bug on the picnic tablecloth.
