I just want to say a big ol’ Thank You to PBO and ACA. I could assess without worry whether I needed the ER in the wee hours of Saturday morning, knowing that the cost wouldn’t deplete my furnace money or that I would run into problems getting care. What peace of mind to figure that the dangling fingertip might need medical care, and I had it available to me.
Yep. I bought Mr. 57 a nice kitchen knife for Christmas. When I went to use it at midnight Friday night, he said, “Be careful. It’s really sharp and it has a different balance.” I said, “No, problem I love this knife…….” as I sliced clear through the tip, all the way through the nail. What really hurts are the stitches that went through the nail and the open wound under it.
But a big ol’ thank you to OBAMACARE!. My worthless RWNJ nephew said on Facebook that I could have gone to the ER anyway after I threw my ACA success story in his face. Yeah, right, and a $2,000 bill and no consult if I can’t get the feeling back. It was such peace of mind to think about my injury and what was needed, instead of worrying about cost and access. I LOVE ACA! Even though the one co-pay that’s high in my plan is the ER. But it’s affordable, and I know what it’s going to cost. The peace of mind was nirvana.
It’s amazing that people think ER visits are health care. ERs are for, *gasp*, emergencies, not for after-care. Not to wish ill on anyone, but if your nephew doesn’t otherwise have health insurance, I await when he goes to the ER and gets hit with a $3000 bill.
My RWNJ nephew is a union police officer, but he hates PBO and feels superior to him. It’s a disgrace. He also cares a lot about organic food, food safety, etc. And yet he votes GOP. His sister with five kids from three differentmen, has lived her entire life on welfare, as did his mother, grandmother. But he lectures me on the “extravagant welfare” that he has to “pay for”. The disconnect is breathtaking.
I was a real emergency Friday night, as were the other people in the ER. What I didn’t see was a roomful of kids with the sniffles or the flu. ACA is restoring balance and sanity to our health care system.
The finger is healing. Still no sensation in the fingertip but that is a wait-and-see situation. I have a bubble of gauze around it because if I touch it, I see stars. Typing is a challenge but I’m coping. I’m at work, waiting for the batshit crazy boss to return from his Florida vacation. It’s my right index finger and I’m left-handed which makes it all manageable.
You see, us wimmin don’t take to our beds for days on end if we injure our fingers, bad Victorian fiction notwithstanding.
Another lefty here.
So glad to hear that your Obamacare came through for you 57. I remember your travails and then your happiness in being able to sign up.
Follow the doctors instructions for proper and complete healing {{{{57}}}}
RanMan, I don’t know why. I’m not the weepy type. But every time you make that statement “Thank God that President Obama is still the President of the United States of America”, I want to burst out in tears 🙂
I just wrote the DNC and told them this. She needs to go. I told them I had contributed a substantial amount of money to the DNC in 2014, and felt thoroughly cheated. Then I said I would contribute no more until DWS was gone.
We all need to contact them about her. This is preposterous.
Congratulations to JER on getting in the door first. OFA has a new tool to call out climate deniers in Congress and among some Governors. I am going to tweet a few every day. Amazingly, Oregon does not have a single one of our own to tweet. Give it a try:
The thing I find funny about certain people being mad about the Pentagon talking about a possible offensive against ISIS in Mosul is that the Iraqi government a few months ago was talking about a massive offensive against ISIS in northern Iraq in the spring and summer of 2015. This was before anything came out of the defense department.
I’ve been in touch with @3ChicsPolitico. I’m not sure if its Ametia or Southern Girl2 that I am speaking with 🙂 but they are able to contact Rikyrah in the hospital and the report is that she is doing better this morning. We desperately need the water. Bring more Lord!
I just want to say a big ol’ Thank You to PBO and ACA. “Dangling fingertip”? Sounds painful.

OMG 57, you poor thing!!!

How is the healing coming along?
Also. Too. Why are you here instead of in your bed?
The finger is healing. Still no sensation in the fingertip but that is a wait-and-see situation. I have a bubble of gauze around it because if I touch it, I see stars. I just have to keep it clean and dry. I need the bubble of gauze or it hurts, but I’m functioning. Thanks, GGAil.

Good night amk 🙂
Is Scott Walker at the White House? Or did the Koch Brothers order him not to go?
