Ha, I feel the same way, Vicki.

Usually when I logon to TOD, the current thread already has 88 comments — takes me awhile to read through, and by that time, a new thread is accepting comments.

Undeterred, VC-like, I comment on the obsolete thread, LOL.

Tell me your good news. Then I’m taking another pain pill and getting some sleep. I don’t know what’s worse – the sutures through what is left of my finger nail or the migraine from the tension. Ibought Mr 57 a new kitchen knife for Christmas. He was in the process of warning me how sharp it was as I sliced through the entire tip, from the underside through the nail. Fun

OK, I know this is GOPolitico, but if even HALF of this stuff is true, this woman is poison to our party. To slime our POTUS in this manner is pure filth and should be DISQUALIFYING for ANY leadership position. This is just a small sliver of it:

“Throughout her time as chair, Wasserman Schultz has turned off colleagues, other top Democrats and current and former staff for a management style that strikes many as self-centered — even for a politician — and often at the expense of the DNC or individual candidates or campaigns. Many top Democrats, including some she counts as supporters and friends, privately complain about her trying to use the DNC as a vehicle for her own personal promotion, and letting her own ambition get in the way of larger goals.

Wasserman Schultz has a different sense of herself. According to people who spoke with her, when she sensed Obama was considering replacing her as chair in 2013, she began to line up supporters to suggest the move was both anti-woman and anti-Semitic. Under fire last fall for her leadership, she took Obama’s decision not to remove her then as evidence of renewed strength and said she was confident no one could get her out of the DNC before her term is over at the beginning of 2017, according to sources who’ve spoken with her. She’s also been known to joke around the office about how having a vacation home in New Hampshire might one day be helpful in a presidential run.”

Sounds like there are a lot of people who are pulling out the long knives right now.

    • 75 debz
      February 21, 2015 at 11:08 am

They should have pulled out those knives earlier, like before 2013.

      • February 21, 2015 at 11:11 am

It’s staggering to try and imagine why in the world she’s still in this position considering her profound failures.

        • 77 debz
          February 21, 2015 at 11:17 am

It seems that she plans to continue the losing “strategy” for 2016. Hillary and other dems will “distance themselves” from the 2 term dem POTUS. That worked out so well for Al Gore and in 2014.

          • February 21, 2015 at 11:20 am

So much FAIL in this I don’t even know where to begin. After these astonishing 6 years with win after win after win in all of PBO’s initiatives, to have such a LAME process going forward just sickens me. We may very well lose everything if they stick with this misguided path.

I have a bad feeling about the next election. It would be nice if DWS would just step down, and be replaced by someone who is not a DLC Clintonite.

    • February 21, 2015 at 11:57 am

I realize that a lot of us are rightfully disappointed DWS, especially for allowing that f#%kup strategy; “Dems turning their pack on President Obama in 2014 Midterm elections.”

However, before you accept this article by that right-wing mouthpiece Politico, who strives to sow dissent within the Democratic Party, I ask you to look for another source that verifies this without referring back to that RW mouthpiece Politico. Thanks in advance>>

  22. February 21, 2015 at 11:09 am

The DNC is supposed to release their “autopsy” report today. Let’s see what DWS has to say…….

I noticed when the President gave his obligatory call out to and praise of DWS, that the applause was tepid at best. I wonder if she noticed that. Once the knives come out, watch out.

Regarding the article about the President and nittyyahoo…..were people really thinking PBO would do NOTHING and stand by while he came to undercut our entire country’s foreign policy? Have they not learned that the President does not act precipitately, but when he does, it hits the bullseye? (bin laden comes to mind) They (MSM, pundits, congresscritters) have had six years to observe, and they have seen nothing, or pretended not to.

Also……the knives are out for Billo…..he’ll yell, and throw tantrums, and yell some more, but once those knives are sharpened and pointed, it’s hard to stay upright. I bet Keith Olbermann is rubbing his hands with glee!

I just posted this thought on FB. I should be hearing from angry conservatives shortly:

I think that I have finally figured out why so many right wingers are so angry at Mexican immigrants trying to come to America looking for an opportunity to earn a better life. I have lived in a border state surrounded by them for 14 years now. They are overwhelmingly christian. They are family oriented people to a very large degree. The ones that I have known and witnessed tend to work very hard too. I love the Mexicans that I have come to know personally. They’re just really decent people.

So why on earth wouldn’t the party of christian family values and hard work LOVE these people? Sure, it could be the racism that the GOP has been cultivating for the last half century, but I think it is more than that… something subconscious and powerful. It is cognitive dissonance.

Mexico is a corporatist oligarchy. It is a country where the rich get every advantage and have control of everything. The workers are treated like livestock with no rights and the government cares nothing for them. The government serves only the wealthy businessmen and employers are permitted to run roughshod over their employees without much regulation for safety, sustainability, or environmental control. It is a small gubmint conservative’s Utopian model! Yet, the result is citizens so badly screwed, so desperate for some self-determination that they are willing to uproot their families and leave all that they know and love behind to come here and live in the shadows as 2nd class people in order to escape it. That’s why they hate them so much! They are the observable result of what their wrong headed ideology yields if it is permitted to be enacted. They probably don’t consciously think about that, but subconsciously it infuriates them.

Here is my suggestion: why do we regular people/voters act as if we have no way to challenge & change the direction of the DNC. Yes, its hard but we can make the values & policy priorities of PBO remain the standard of selecting Democratic candidates. Why don’t we start thinking about how we can do this. Remember: “one person can change a community”

Sidney Poitier “predicts” Barack Obama (1967) 🙂
In the movie “Guess Who’s Coming to Dinner” (1967) Sidney Poitier talks about his children from his planned mixed marriage who would become President – or at least Secretary of State.

Ahhhhhh that’s right! Dr. Prentiss and Joey met in Hawaii just like Barack Obama Sr. and Stanley Ann. They should make a sequel with their first born becoming President of the United States….
