Nancy Wilson is my favorite female jazz, blues, soul singer in the world. I re-discovered her late in life and she put out the album All in love is Fair and have bought every album/cd since then. My first Nancy Wilson song that I loved was “Face it Girl”
Hi GGail! I was zonked last night, so I didn’t come back after I visiting my sister. Will do a tribute to Nancy and others today. Posted some stuff for Sidney here and on the previous thread. Enjoy!
Just like that craven, hate mongering, pathological liar guliani will continue to get air time. Talk about the epitome of a PURE UNADULTERATED, PRODUCT OF MYTHOLOGY, that’s ole vomit-makin’ RUDE-ey.

Bring this statement and request over from the last thread regarding Politico’s article about Debbie Wasserman-Schultz.
—————————————————————————————————————————————————————————————————
I realize that a lot of us are rightfully disappointed with DWS, especially for allowing that f#%kup strategy; “Dems turning their pack on President Obama in 2014 Midterm elections.”
However, before you accept this article by that right-wing mouthpiece Politico, who strives to sow dissent within the Democratic Party, I ask you to look for another source that verifies this without referring back to that RW mouthpiece Politico. Thanks in advance>>
Hi TOD. Back after laying in some supplies. OMG Yes they are predicting significant snowfall Again tonight.
I have something to add for meta, hopefruit, carolyn and everyone else commenting on DWS in the previous thread.
This is my Observed anecdote.
Meaning What I Saw with my own 2 eyes.
A few years ago there was a large banquet style event. By which I mean POTUS & FLOTUS and others were seated on a dais and the rest of the large group was at dining tables. Dressed up. ( Looking like a Golden Globes or SAG set-up.)
PBO left his seat and was circulating amongst the tables, kissing, smiling and hugging, when approaching DWS’ table Debbie walked towards President Obama with her arms held up to embrace him and a big smile on her face.
PBO blew right past her.
DWS’ smile froze. Her arms changed position from up for a hug to bent elbows stretched outward as if to say “What just happened here?” Then she shrugged and went back to people near her who had seen this.
I have never forgotten this. Or spoken or written about it either.
On the other topic so many at TOD are concerned with and I appreciate your posting from Poliiticus, meta.
Yes, there are amazing positive signs.
SOE Moniz is in Geneva now working out technical aspects with Iranian counterpart.
Nevertheless, SOS Kerry practically lived in Jerusalem for months and we recall not ony did the talks end but Israel tried to blame John Kerry.
cautious optimism.
I want a deal with Iran and I want Nutenyahoo shamed and disgraced. However I am old enough to be careful not to pin hopes on except the very few (PBO) things that are reliable in this crazy world.
Vicki, your story just underlines what I called “PBO’s obligatory shout out and thank you to DWS at the DNC meeting.” Even through the computer I did not feel the warmth I usually feel his shoutouts and thanks.
Question: Who is in charge of firing and hiring the DNC chair? Where can we get a list of DNC members so we can write them individually?
“TEHRAN (FNA)- Iranian Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif along with the country’s nuclear chief Ali Akbar Salehi and President Rouhani’s brother and special aide Hassan Fereidoun arrived in Geneva on Saturday to take part in another round of nuclear talks with their US counterparts.
The Iranian and US negotiators have had several rounds of talks in Geneva on Friday and Saturday, and Zarif and his US counterpart John Kerry are slated to join the negotiations at Geneva’s Wilson Hotel on Sunday and Monday.
Salehi is also scheduled to hold talks with US Secretary of Energy Ernest Moniz on Tehran’s nuclear program and meet his Swiss counterpart on bilateral ties.
Fereidoun who is also President Hassan Rouhani’s brother will accompany Zarif during his meetings “to make the necessary coordination”.”
Having Hassan Fereidoun & Salehi present is a good sign.
“For many years now Iranâs cabinet has been holding monthly meeting sessions in different provincial capitals of the country. President Hassan Rouhani has continued the practice. Last week, his minister of state for executive affairs Mohammad Shariatmadari told Tasnim news agency, affiliated with the Revolutionary Guards, that the next provincial cabinet meeting would take place in the city of Qom, the center of Iranâs religious heavyweights.
âThe caravan of the government of prudence and hope (the name that the president has chosen for his administration) will travel to Qom on February 25 and 26 for its cabinet-level meeting,â he announced.
This announcement is telling because Qom had been announced earlier this year to have been ânextâ venue of the cabinet meeting; but the plan was subsequently cancelled. At that time, cleric Mohammad Sadegh Salehimanesh, the governor of the province of Qom made the announcement of the cancellation but did not provide any reasons. No explanation has come since then either. The media has speculated that the reason is the cultural issues and is the response of the senior clerics in Qom to their displeasure with the activities/policies of the ministry of Islamic guidance of the Rouhaniâs administration.
clip
Efforts by Rouhaniâs administration to communicate with the senior clerics in Qom have been made since he came to office and members of the government have met with them on various occasions. It appears that because of what happened in previous administrations, Rouhani is more cautious about meetings with senior clerics. Former president Ahmadinejadâs relations with the clerics in Qom had deteriorated in the last years of his administration weakening his political standing. Rouhaniâs trip to Qom and the number of clerics he visits can reveal much about his standing with the conservative religious establishment in the country. In recent years, going to Qom has been a sensitive issue, even for someone like ayatollah Khamenei. In his last visit to this religious epicenter, he too did not succeed in meeting some of the senior clerics.”
This badass Quaker Angelina GrimkĂŠ Weld (February 20, 1805 â October 26, 1879) was an American political activist, abolitionist, women’s rights advocate, and supporter of the women’s suffrage movement.
Is the great-aunt of this badass Angelina Weld Grimke (February 27, 1880 â June 10, 1958) – an African-American journalist, teacher, playwright and poet who was part of the Harlem Renaissance; she was one of the first African-American women to have a play publicly performed.
I would love for Netanyahu’s speech to be cancelled, or rendered moot by a signed agreement on Iranian nukes, but it’s too early to get hopes up. Meanwhile, still pressuring Congress critters not to legitimize Boehner’s encroachment on executive turf.
I’m with you, Judith. I’ve been silently rooting for a signed agreement before Bibi Yahoo’s visit, though I know the timelines are tight and I don’t want them to rush on his account. Nevertheless, part of me thinks it would be such a big slap in Bibi’s face – I have detested him strongly since the moment he came to address Congress while PBO was out of the country. Bibi’s arrogance and lack of good manners in coming into someone’s ‘home’ and trying to subvert his leadership really enraged me, especially because IMO he took no account of the fact that he’s a dependent!
That is also my deep hope…Judith, Dudette, vc, and many more here, I’m sure. Like others on other blogs, I wish that we would withdraw our aid to Israel…..he is a dependent. Without our aid, Israel would be in deep water. I have absolutely no use for Bibi. He is an extremist and a bully with a Messianic complex.
With you too, Carolyn. I know PBO cannot withdraw Israeli aid because i) he would cause too much of an uproar, shifting focus to himself in a negative way, and ii) he’s not the type to punish the people for the sins of their arrogant leader, but I’m somewhat tired of hyper-partisan Israeli supporters thinking Israel can do no harm.
FURST.
Was there dancing in the streets across India as Pakistan got humiliated?
nah, that’s deserved only for head to head bruisers.
day of upsets at epl today.

Lowly burnley draws with blues.
Fucking Matic getting a red card.
Today ManU was beaten up and then ROBBED!
I want to lodge a Complaint…where’s the Complaint Department???
Oh, and Congrats on Furst amk đ
Don’t get me started on robbed. Fucking red card for Matic, reducing Chelsea to 10 men, which led to a Burnley equalizer.
Wait LL! this complaint is all about ManU. You can’t ride on my Complaint!! đ đ
Hah! This is football. Complaining is mother’s milk. đ
đ I’m beginning to see that
really? the top ranked team (for now anyway) can’t finish off a relegation team with 10 men? Many teams have done fine with 10 men.
Eh, “any given Saturday” and all that jazz.
see jose below
Oh, Jose. Sighs. There’s always next week.
My Happy Birthday wish to Nancy Wilson. “You don’t know how glad I am”

Sad but true set of tweets, LL!

True though.
Chelsea manager Jose Mourinho:
“No [the red card did not change things]. There are four moment of the game where you can write the story. Minutes 30, 33, 43 and 69. Don’t ask me more questions.

This could be Van Gaal’s statement today too đ
Manchester United manager Louis van Gaal: “Of course you can say we dominated the game but the only thing we could have done more was score more out of the chances we created. Today we were the unlucky team. I think we created enough chances. We were the dominant side in both halves.

“Today we played well – only we forgot to score. We have to be more effective.”
Again, “any given Saturday”, etc., etc.

Thanks amk.
This is a true statement. They (ManU) did play well and was robbed and injured!!!
no, they weren’t robbed. give the credit where due.
No, I prefer to pout. đŚ
Meanwhile, in news concerning my other team:

Kobe needs to get out of the way – retire already. He’s gonna get paid for next year any way, so move and let the rebuilding begin in ernest.
As much as I adore him as a player, yeah, his body will probably break down again next season. Hang it up, and enjoy retirement.
The Suns team has been decimated too. I agree, Kobe’s body is worn out.
1st
1st what? đ
1st to say “first” while being 40th! đ
LOL!! Well, alrighty then! Congrats! đ

I agree. He focused his affection on Donna Brazile, in my opinion. ¨If you talk the talk…what’s the rest Donna, Ăżou have to walk the walk¨…
Significant development …

Hi, GxG!

More news you’ll likely never see in US media ….
