Thanks to the one who posted the USA Today article about free admission to national parks next year for fourth graders and families! My grandson will be in fourth grade next year, so I sent the link to my d-I-l. She is thrilled, as they are planning a trip to the California and the redwoods, summer 2016. This will be great for them. This news needs to be spread far and wide!

After what Guiliani said and with what Boehner and Bibi are doing, my mind is running wild with possible tweets. Unfortunately, I can’t tweet at work and at my age, I’ll probably forget them all by the time I get home.

Yes he is. I love the historial references. Just brilliant! And he mentioned the awesome fierceness of our First Lady Michelle Obama. It is so amazing to see a President who truly truly loves his wife. What a beautiful example.

Loved his speech! So thrilled for him to emphasize our history so strongly. So good to have a president who knows history, understands its importance, and can put all this into real perspective. He is a marvel. So glad he told again about that free pass for fourth graders and their families. Build a new generation who WANT to see the country and understand it. My daughter-in-law is thrilled with the news. She and her family will take advantage of it.

The fourth grader passes are a brilliant idea and the ugly racists in Congress can’t do a thing about it. He’s building the future and they are living in a medieval past.

I’m sorry, but if the story I’m hearing out here is true – she was cruising for a bruising.

First, her daughter allegedly honked the car horn at the man when he drove past them. Then mother and daughter go home. Mother gets son, who gets gun. They go looking for the driver and his car, when they locate him, something happens, then shooting erupts when mother and son return to their home.

Why was son – who had the gun – standing behind the mother when the shooting began?

Too many holes in this story at the moment…

GA TOD! ….had jury duty last week, but trying to catching up on news this week….to that end…this is B.S. 😦

“Media watchers have long speculated whether the “Lean Forward” network will shake up its struggling daytime lineup, especially after 1 p.m. ET host Ronan Farrow‘s eponymous show fell to a stunning 11k viewers in the ages 25-54 demo just a few weeks ago. While Farrow has been the subject of most cancellation rumors, The Reid Report has frequently been named as well.

To that end, one of our tipsters — who has worked at MSNBC for just under a decade — complained to Mediaite that the decision to cancel Reid but seemingly keep Farrow in the lineup is “a slap in the face of a woman of color,” especially because Reid’s ratings have been consistently higher than Farrow’s, and yet “she’s been given no support and no promotion.”

    Downton Abbey. Possible parallels?

Relatives of Lord Grantham repeatedly invited a rude guest to dinner over the Lord’s objections.
It did not turn out well for the unwanted guest who showed up and loudly challenged Lord Grantham at his own table.

We had a progressive Democratic meeting today and what we concluded dovetailed perfectly with what the president said about our power to initiate great change if we stand firm for what’s right. In the fight against racial and religious bias, which is being stoked every day by the GOP/media, each of us had to take a stand as Democrats. We all agreed that we need to start speaking out against prejudice on our own and encourage our county and state Democratic parties to start speaking with one voice against both overt and covert acts of religious and racial violence. The President has done all the heavy lifting in this fight, while Democrats have cowered in corners or averted their eyes. That has to end and it begins with us.

Oh well. Joy-Ann Reid goes? Ronaan Farrow stays?

If true, maybe everyone will now switch MSNBC off. Joy-Ann may have changed once she got her own show but was nothing like Farrow.

Ronan, like Lawrence, fits into the entertainment approach MSNBC seems to be leaning towards.
Promotion of main-stream entertainment framed as news.
Every star with something to promote shows up.
Kind of like having The Tonight Show all day long.

There will be nothing remotely resembling news on your tv soon. Nothing but RW propaganda. We are almost there.

She is a Harvard Graduate. Smart, Black and has higher ratings……but her show gets canned and Farrow’s Lives?
      Ugly…..MSNBC.
Race in USA……..Caucasian Male gets a privileged Treatment?

PBO moves toward normalizing relations with Cuba and pesto, the American people’s opinion of Cuba improves dramatically. PBO comes out in support of gay marriage/rights and pesto, the American public move dramatically in favor of that position. PBO proves time and time again that he is not just a fantastic politician, he is a true leader.

      Now, where are they?

I saw a news report where there were complaints about Iran, Russia, and others not being invited to the Summit on Countering Violent Extremism. Also complaints that the Summit was not expansive enough, because it didn’t discuss non-muslim-islam-arab terrorists.

With face in hands shaking head and mumbling to self ‘We can’t talk about everything at once. What is stopping those countries and others from having Summits–And who are these all or nothing people?’

My conclusion. Everyone is looking to President Obama. The World is waiting for President Obama. Isn’t that Leadership and isn’t it obvious? Media sucks.
