This needs to go viral, to hold our despicable MSM to account.

I’m still seething that the MSM “reports” that the execution-style slaying of three young people (one a teenager) in their own home is dismissed as a “parking dispute.”

How many people would dismiss the thought of their children/daughter or son-in laws being slaughtered this way over a parking space as just the price you pay for living in the USA?

And yeah, MSM and Tundra Twit, own up to the crosshairs you posted over Gabby Gifford’s congressional district.

This is exactly what FOX sets out to do–create anti-Muslim feeling that can lead to violence and feed the endless racist need for hatred. If the ignorant can believe that Muslims are to blame for everything they fear, then they will not look closely at the destructive evil FOX’s billionaire owners are wreaking in the lives of ordinary Americans. They are probably toasting themselves with champagne glasses in FOX offices–mission accomplished.

Marie Holmes, 26, who had recently quit jobs at Wal-Mart and McDonald’s to care for her children, including one who has cerebral palsy, is one of three winners of the huge jackpot. By: Stephen A. Crockett Jr. Posted: Feb. 13 2015 10:20 AM

“Everything is all for them,” Marie Holmes, a 26-year-old Shallotte, N.C., mother of four, told WPXI, regarding her becoming an instant millionaire as one of three winners with all the numbers in Wednesday’s $564 million Powerball drawing.

“All the struggle that I ever went through, it was all for them,” said Holmes, whose winnings, before taxes, total $188 million. Holmes told the news station that she had had to quit jobs at McDonald’s and Wal-Mart to care for her kids, one of whom has cerebral palsy.

Now, she said, life just got a little easier.

“I just want them to understand that money doesn’t change you,” she told the news station. “But it can help you. They don’t have to worry about debt; they can go to college, all on me; and they don’t have to worry about nothing, and I am glad I can do that for them.”

      February 17, 2015 at 3:11 pm

I pray that the money does not change her and that her extended family will let her live in peace taking care of her children. Many times it is the extended family who may have helped (or not helped) in the past that come with their hands creating grief. Just like the man who walked to work and money was raised to get him a car, now he is getting harassed and has to move. People who help folks with a call out for donations should limit or cut it off once it gets to enough for him to buy a modest new car. He has to pay taxes on what the money he’s given so now the tax man will be breathing down on him next year.

‘People who help folks with a call out for donations should limit or cut it off once it gets to enough’ << good point.

Hopefully Marie will be savvy enough to give extended family members each a 'gift', then stash away….I mean invest.. the rest. One of my thoughts was that I wouldn't be surprised if the children's father suddenly surfaces. The article did mention her going to a lawyer, etc. etc. and setting up college funds, etc. etc. One thing I didn't like was that the article mentioned that she hadn't cashed in the ticket yet I wish reporters would post information in a responsible way. Anyhoo, I wish her well and wish her the wisdom to not be taken in by lawyers, family &/ friends.

Hi VC! I posted my comment before clicking on the link to the full story. So glad she is getting advice from a lawyer but by now I know he told her to sign that ticket or maybe she wants to setup a Trust and the ticket will be in the name of the trust. If she is getting any public assistance they can’t touch any of the money in the trust.

“It is exactly the same kind of movement that was unleashed by the Arab Spring. What we are witnessing is an attempt to exploit that movement by sectarian extremists. That is why Harf is exactly right in saying that the answer ultimately will come from addressing the root causes. The disorder caused by throwing off the shackles of dictators needs to be met with the development of strong civil societies with democratic legitimacy and respect for human rights. That is ultimately what will defeat ISIS.”

I read the account a couple of days ago and was keen to note the language used to describe this outstanding Christian youth who had recently professed his faith publicly and been baptized. He was active in his church, did well in school, and was a model for younger church goers. Yet he executed his family, covered their heads with pillows, went to that evening’s church activity before taking the car and heading out. I suspect it will be found he had mental issues.

    • 129 arapaho415
      February 17, 2015 at 4:42 pm

The flight originated from Cabo San Lucas, so if it had a passport would probably be issued by Mexico.

Alaska Airlines is a great airline. The pilots are chatting during the summer vacation months when the flights from BUR (Burbank CA) to Seattle, describing the natural highlights of the trip, from Yosemite to the Sierra Nevadas, Lake Tahoe, Mt. St. Helens, etc. And the view of Gig Harbor circling toward the Seattle Space Needle can’t be beat.

This is from someone who hates to fly, but have taken Alaska Air to Seattle many times.

Hi Arapaho I used to fly Alaska too from Bur or LAX to Sea-Tac or Portland. I wonder if we’ve ever been on the same flights?

        • 131 arapaho415
          February 17, 2015 at 6:53 pm

It’s been a decade now since I’ve flown that route — used to do so nearly monthly for awhile.

Wouldn’t surprise me if our paths crossed, seems like I recall seeing familiar faces as I traveled that route.

I rarely flew mid-day — usually caught an early morning or evening flight to Sea-Tac, and an evening one back to BUR.

Gorgeous flight — I’ve mentioned to VC that I prefer window seats, and tried to fly on the right side on both legs — the daytime flights to see Lake Tahoe going north, and coming back to see the coastal lights.

            February 18, 2015 at 6:48 pm

I think the last time I flew regularly from lax to sea-tac was in 2004. Then just once a year in 2005 through 2010 when my friend and I would go camping in WA or Oregon. I too sat on the right to Puget Sound as we flew out of Sea-Tac. I really miss going to PNW. I hope to retire there in the next eight years.

Living Will. The Best Living Will I’ve Seen.

I, ____________ , being of sound mind and body, do not wish to be kept alive indefinitely by artificial means. Under no circumstances should my fate be put in the hands of pinhead politicians who couldn’t pass ninth-grade
biology if their lives depended on it, or lawyers/ doctors interested in simply running up the bills.

If a reasonable amount of time passes and I fail to ask for at least one of the following:
Glass of wine, Chocolate, Margarita, Gimlet, Chocolate, Martini, Manhattan, Chocolate,
Cold Beer, Chocolate, Chicken fried steak, Cream gravy, Chocolate, Chinese food, Chocolate, Mexican food, Chocolate, French fries, Chocolate, Pizza, Chocolate, Ice cream, Chocolate, Sex, Chocolate….. It should be presumed that I won’t ever get better.

Yea, totally new to me, 57F! I honestly had only ever seen Georgie boy and Jeb, though I did hear something about a still birth and a jar. I wonder the daughter doesn’t want to be the first female U.S. president! Maybe, I’ll say kudos to the last three for keeping themselves out of the limelight.

Neil and Marvin are both crooks, I believe. One was involved in some banking scand I think. One started some company and made a bundle in FL based on something Jeb pushed through. Dorothy’s married name is Koch, but I do not know if it’s the evil Kochs. They are rotten to the core, going back at least to Prescott Bush who financed the Nazis

When his father was president, Neil [Mallon Bush] became the target of a congressional investigation for his involvement as outside director of Silverado Savings and Loan, one of the many failed banks that were part of the savings and loan crisis that came to a head during Bush’s presidency. ….. his personal interest in learning disabilities led him to found an educational software corporation, Ignite! Learning.

Marvin Pierce Bush …. co-founded the investment management company Winston Partners in 1993.

As I said earlier, 57F, I was taken by surprise to discover there are more Bushes lurking around in the US of A than I had thought there were! :/
