Congratulations on first.
I’m here, but off now to read the tweets
Thanks again Nerdy for these informative tweets!
You’re welcome, HF.
DRATZ!!!! POTUS arrived about 15 minutes ago and I barely got to see his car fly by. The cops kept us back about 3/4 of a block and were refusing to let us get a better vantage point in the street. There was a small crowd of people there and all we really got to see is quite a few arrivals of guests. Oh, well. I know he’s had a great day so far.
You were so close, Meta – breathing the same air.
Hahaha, yeah! I really wanted to see his motorcade up close, though.
But you did see the car, right? That’s a thrill right there or at least it was for me.
I read and reacted to the article you posted about PBO donors balking at joining the campaign-in-waiting. Only 7% (approximately) have jumped on board.
Maybe the campaign-in-waiting figures by July they can wear enough of the withholders down.
But that won’t work.
if they are not enthusiastic now, I imagine by July they will be deeply asleep.
VPBiden might just wake some people up.
Then he needs a charismatic young running mate. Julian, que pasa?
Each of the Obama donors who haven’t ponied up yet all have substantive and credible reasons, so this is quite real. I’m hoping Joe and others will jump into this vacuum the Dems have created with this coronation BS. HRC has articulated next to nothing of a vision, obviously hasn’t formulated a coherent economic vision if she consulting 500 economists and really doesn’t stand for anything yet except fundraising. So she’s really blowing it as far as some are concerned and there’s a huge void that can be filled by others.
Yes,meta. What lady W. Has shown us is a tin ear.
Really, Hillary? ACA enrollment has a day left and you go to the NY Times with an op-ed written with a Republican concerning S-CHIP?
I feel like I did before PBO came along that I will be voting for the lesser of two evils again in 2016.
Not sure why people think donors should be flocking to a campaign that hasn’t announced, hasn’t told anyone what it stands for, and seems poised to run away from President Obama. The fact that she ran away from the blame for Benghazi, and left Susan Rice to take the blame… that was enough for me.
Vice President Biden has said he wants to continue to good, sound policies from the Obama Administration. If he chooses to run, that’s where my money’s going.
Ouuuuuuuuuuuuuuuutstanding Nerdy, another brilliant compilation covering SO much – thank you soooOOooOoooOOooo much!
Thanks, Chips.
The tweets are great, Nerdy.
Thank you.
The WSJ expressing doubt about the Iran nuclear deal caught my attention becasue I think some of the positive build up in the news lately is a set-up. I would be thrilled and shocked if there is a deal made.
The other tweets that got me were the ones in theextended sequence by Ijeowa Iola. She nails it again and again.
You’re welcome, Vicki.

Amazing collection, NW. So much emotion. Thank you, again.
Thanks, Meta.
The “AllLivesMatter” tweets are very true. “Thug” is the new n-word, that’s all.
Nerdy Wonka, you keep us so informed with these great tweets. Thanks for sharing your amazing talent. And to Chips for bringing you to us.
Thanks, MTMarilyn.
NW, absolutely stunning collection tonight. Dare I go so far as to say riveting?
Thanks.
We don’t hear the word terrorism because this act was committed against Muslims, not by Muslims. Terror by any other group just doesn’t exist in this country. As sick as it is to admit this, it’s the truth as the media and law enforcement see it.
So true japa – Only white christians can be the victims of terrorism. Truly horrifying the hate the media generates – and then they run from their actions and deny what they have done.
Great round up as always. I don’t know how you do it Nerdy! Many thanks.
Thanks, Vetivera.

WHOA, this is a really great interview, well worth watching.
Oh, I was about to post a tweet with the #hashtag spoiler, but will refrain from doing so…
It’s very tempting!
Excellent interview, no softball questions here! She knew her stuff and so did he!!
Yeah, they were pretty well matched. She was very aggressive and he held his own. Fascinating topics.
I’m watching this interview, but I’ll say honestly that I do not appreciate the abrupt manner of the interviewer. PBO is fine, as usual, but whoever she is I’d not be giving her an ‘A’.
Outstanding…tweets…..running out of words to say about the fantabulous (there’s a word) round up of tweets that you bring to us each day…
Thanks.
Also, the list should include that time they were on the “Kiss Cam” at the basketball game!
This picture makes me laugh because this is how me and my friends would be acting 🙂
The media gets on my last nerve when they have to come up with excuses for this President…
Article opens with this:
“Here are a few other times the Obamas blew our minds with their in-the-know pop-culture references and humor. (Which seems to happen a lot when they want to promote their pet projects.)”
Enabling millions of Americans to afford/obtain medical insurance is described as “their pet project(s).”
IMHO, this was completely uncalled for. Did the MSM describe sending thousands of Americans to their death, maiming and/or PTSD as GWB’s “pet project?”
And they also included Malia and Sasha as one of the top 9 — completely unnecessary, since they omitted Colbert’s Decree, Please Proceed Governor, singing Al Green, dancing with Ellen, slow jamming the news with Jimmy Fallon, etc.
The exchange after the guy told PBO not to touch his girlfriend during early voting was also a classic.
wow! NW you rock! If I was missing anything this week I’m completely caught up. 😀
Congrats on fursties Sir Bob 😉
Thanks, alice.
This is essentially the view we had. This woman was really nice and actually asked me if I would do an on camera interview but I declined.
Wow……NO LAME DUCK here….Yowwwwwwwwwwwser
I am going to trust our president to do exactly what he says here–set the stage for the next presidential election and the next ten years of policy. PBO has a plan to ensure that all his hard work is not destroyed by a Republican bozo in the oval office. I would watch his moves carefully, especially the way he positions Joe Biden. As Firefox said, PBO became president by bypassing the Democratic Party structure and Joe Biden knows exactly how this is done. As Bob has often reminded us, “Trust Barack; he’s earned it.”
Agreed. The next President will have to explain to the American public why they’ve decided to abandon the right thing, if they decide to go a different route. But, to be honest, so many Americans will swallow anything that is the opposite of President Obama’s actions, even if it hurts them.
In the 4th quarter of a game – you leave it ALL on the field. And that’s what PBO is doing!
Now the WSJ is claiming that PBO and Iranian Supreme Leader Khamenhei have been communicating privately. One on one.
My question here is about if it is private, how come the Wall Street Journal (owned by Rupert Murdoch) is the one with the inside scoop?!?
One of the best toons of the year.

I think Mo’ne said she wanted to go to University of Connecticut to play basketball, that move right there by Mo’ne has that coach looking.
Stunning young woman!!
BOOYAH!
In thinking about the 2016 election, my greatest frustration is that the DNC has done virtually nothing the last 6 years to develop young leaders and possible candidates in the party. PBO has done more than his share and it should have been a good time for some young Dems to come into the spotlight. Instead, we have Hillary. The Rs are way ahead of the Dems in developing something (certainly not talent but faces) while we continue to recycle the same old, same old. And generally, the country does not go back. As far as I can tell, the only thing DWS has done is the conventions, nothing in the way of developing candidates. When I look at the Dem party, the only “youngsters” I see coming up with potential are Sen Amy Kloubucher from MN and the Castro brothers, but none of them are ready now when we need them and most likely they are at least 8 years out. Given everything PBO has done, it seems an incredibly wasted opportunity. I love Joe and Elizabeth, but they are not young. Where are the up and coming Dem leaders? Am I missing something?
Frankly, I don’t see any of the thugs candies being developed by rnc. Each of the thugs being promoted on/by emmessem has some sugar daddy behind him and as you say, none of them have the talent to run a disciplined campaign. Dems have a golden opportunity here to retain the presidency if only they start to get their act together instead cowering before kochs & adelsons.
As for age factor, Kennedy & PBO are the exceptions, than the rule. Also. Too. young does not mean progressive per se. Have you seen the ‘progressive’ dudebros?
No, I don’t see any problem Biden running for president. At this point, he is the one who can carry forward Obama legacy.
I totally agree on the thugs that call themselves Rs, but that doesn’t change the fact that there has been very little development on the D side of the aisle. I also agree on Joe, and he would be my first choice. But the one thing we should have all learned the last six years from PBO is you need a long term strategy. Where the hell is that strategy from the Democratic party? We have had one of the greatest presidents in history to mentor the youngsters and I haven’t seen that happening. I just find it very frustrating.
I just had a look at the presidents’ ages (at inauguration) at wiki. The spread is ten under 50, twenty four under 60 and ten under 70.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_Presidents_of_the_United_States_by_age
I used to think we had such a deep bench but you’re right. The Dems put all their eggs in the HRC basket and did nothing to develop or mentor any up and coming talent. PBO has taken Julian Castro under his wing but with Deval Patrick holding out, Martin O’Malley not supported whatsoever by the Dem establishment, it’s profoundly pathetic that DWS serves to this day. Never was up to the task.
Totally agree Meta, she is a huge disappointment. I guess this has been path of the Ds for years. PBO pretty much did it on his own. But it is so sad to have wasted these 6 years of opportunity. At this point, my only hope is that once PBO leaves office, he will seek to mentor some of the young Ds on his own. But this party is a disaster if you ask me, and badly outdone by the Rs although for the life of them they cannot seem to come up with good candidates. That is the only saving grace.
It’s very clear that Biden will have to bypass dnc and the other dem establishment clowns (I so remember these corrupt clowns in 2006-08) and strike his own path to nomination. Just like the kenyan did. 🙂
The democratic establishment hasn’t done anything to help young candidates because the Clintons have enormous clout and they have been obsessed for YEARS about a return in the White House, and don’t want to face another Obama. Dems will be able to turn the page when the Clintons finally retire. Plain and simple.
Governor O’Malley is talented and SHOULD be able to gain some traction. But the Clintons are sucking ALL the oxygen.
I’m worried about that woman in one of the tweets above – I can’t remember her name, but McCain was parading her around a couple of years ago. She seems like a horrible bubble-headed right winger.
On our side, I’d been following Gov O’Malley, and still have hope that he reconsiders. Also, Kirsten Gillibrand seemed to be up and coming, but I don’t know enough about her.
I take whatever Tim Cook has to say with a grain of salt.
The radio tells me that Apple, Facebook and Google were not in attendance at President Obama’s roundtable discussion with business leaders at Stanford University today.
Silicon Valley, we’re above the law, greed above all other considerations white dudebro entitlement on full display in Palo Alton today.
I couldn’t make any sense out of his tweet either.
Tim Cook was there, second row, aisle seat, stage left… Saw him when PBO exited the stage.
Roundtable? Sorry, I gave seat location during speech…
Thanks Alycee.
Regrettably didn’t catch PBO’s speech to the Stanford audience — for whatever reason I couldn’t get c-span and whitehouse.gov’s livestreams to work at the time.
I may be wrong (and often am), but it seems like a huge snub to not meet with the President after he has traveled across country to discuss the NSA privacy issues that the MSM/emoprogs foamed at the mouth about a mere 18 months ago.
Another variation of the “lynching” theme that has been in force since Jan 20, 2009. This President bends over backwards to address white dudebro and emoprog “concerns” (i.e., first world “problems” without taking one iota of responsibility for your actions — like think twice before you post on the Internet, duh) and he is not met halfway to even discuss options for resolution. Drives me nuts.
I am wary of the power and money being amassed in the hands of people with very little life experience (i.e., Silicon Valley and the white elite).
From the Count: President Obama spends the night in San Francisco, then heads to Palm Springs for most of the 3 day holiday weekend…
Good news, Jer. I love when our president gets to take a break. No one needs it more.

Thanks, 99ts.
Nerdy, your nighttime tweets are the highlight of the day. It is not an easy thing to amass this much information each night and you should know that none of us take that for granted. Sometimes each tweet can take us off into a story and a discussion and then we find that there are ten more to go. It’s am amazing resource and one of the single best ways of keeping informed available anywhere. Thank you again because even a hundred times isn’t enough.
^5. Wish we had a ❤ button…
Thank you so very much, Jackie.
Don’t know if this has been posted yet…
Alycee, Wolf is doing a lot of good things and he could do more with a state assembly that worked with him. Pa voters did him a grave disservice by giving him such a lousy group of state reps and senators.
Voters screwed the new Gov and We, the People; additionally, they voted in more TP/RWNJ and some of the old guard found themselves out of leadership — looking at Pileggi; he campaigned on his leadership role (hence PORK), repubs & dems sent his butt back to H’burg, his caucus sang “Hit the road, Jack…”
Excellent.
Tax inspectors failed to prosecute a wealthy tax cheat who did not submit returns or pay any tax for 24 years, documents seen by BBC Panorama show.
HM Revenue and Customs had concluded that Paul Bloomfield, a property investor involved in the redevelopment of Wembley Stadium, was a UK resident and liable for 20 years’ tax.
Mr Bloomfield was on a list of HSBC clients with secret Swiss accounts.
HMRC said it would not comment on an individual taxpayer.
Mr Bloomfield enjoyed luxury homes, a boat, helicopter and private jet. His personal fortune was estimated at £60m in 2006 but when the taxman finally caught up with him five years later Mr Bloomfield was not prosecuted.
His is the most extreme case of tax evasion to emerge following the HSBC scandal and is likely to lead to further questions about HMRC’s treatment of wealthy tax cheats.
The latest Panorama revelations came from the minutes of two meetings between Mr Bloomfield and HMRC investigators in 2011.
Mr Bloomfield told HMRC that, despite his lavish lifestyle, he did not own any property or have any income.

A former US soldier who allegedly formed an international band of snipers as mercenaries has confessed to a murder plot in New York.
Joseph Hunter, nicknamed Rambo after the hero of the 1980s action films, pleaded guilty to conspiring to kill a federal agent and an informant.
The 49-year-old faces up to 10 years in prison.
He believed he had been working for drug traffickers who were actually working for the US anti-drugs agency.
He is accused of recruiting ex-military snipers with the aim of carrying out murders on behalf of drug organisations.
The band was secretly recorded agreeing to kill an agent for the US Drug Enforcement Administration and an informant for a total of $800,000 (£519,400), prosecutors say.
The murders were never carried out.

Thanks Obama!
Thank you, Nerdy W. Again, your diligent work keeps us gratefully appreciating our wonderful POTUS. The weather is lovely for this visit, and I so hope that he really enjoys his time in the southern part of the state especially hitting those golf balls. Enjoy every minutes of your time, Mr. President. I am so excited to know that he is near by.

Trying again.
President Poroshenko of Ukraine says a deal to end the war in the east is in “great danger” amid intense fighting ahead of Saturday night’s ceasefire.
http://www.bbc.com/news/world-europe-31463007
There is no way pootin is going to stick to the deal. merkel needs to wake the fuck up.
I think Merkel knows the inevitable, amk. But, whether she does or not, Ukrainians will need to be the ones to stop Putin and the most important strategy for the West (and rest of the world) is to start boosting Ukraine’s economy, big time. No austerity bull shit, but substantial ecoomic aid of every form.
Fact is that Putin’s economy is in the crapper and his military is stretched so thin, already, that all the Central Asia “Stan-dudes” are going to be more than a little motivated to start their own “Spring.”
And, the West needs to finance a massive information war against Putin – internal to Russia – using every tool in the kit to penetrate his propaganda and inform the Russian people that their lives suck and their husbands, sons, etc., are dying – just as the case in Afghanistan – because they’ve got a nut in Kremlin. It is obvious that Putin’s propaganda ‘curtain’ has already got exploitable holes – as the YouTube video I posted earlier today makes obvious.
Sending US lethal weapons and advisers into Ukraine would be a strategic and tactical mistake, big time.
However, Poland and the Baltics need to be enabled, by massively strengthening their military response infrastructure, to defend themselves, i.e., Putin needs to know that touching them brings huge costs to his military.
Sorry I’m just arriving … I was off getting a “giant tattoo of Ruth Bader Ginsburg’s face.”
Or not. Although I do love RBG!
Evenin’. Ha!
I wouldn’t blame you – that story earlier was hilarious! And since she swore to only have sparkling water, makes one wonder if they’ve been sauced at the other State of the Union speeches…!
Wouldn’t you be? 🙂 I loved her saucy comment! And that tweet of the woman who got the tattoo. Good for both of them!
Happy Valentine’s Day to all of TOD!!! 🙂 🙂
Ooops I meant this for those on the East Coast…
