Morning all, a brief peer in from afar ~ life has been full, too full. Is that a complaint? Maybe, maybe not. Big Hugs all Around. Light pooling and spreading everywhere. I thought about the GOP early this morning – they took an oath of vengeance, that seldom works out. PBO has walked on, doing the work he was born to do, growing stronger in his task of goodwill and world consciousness. The GOP has only shown over and over their weakness, their selfishness and their stupidity. So be it. Back when I can. Many blessings. ~ MP ❤ 🐻 ❤

the Obama family is very fond of the Bush girls. Really they are very sweet smart girls. I won’t post the link because I really don’t want it retweeted but suffice it to say, the Bush twins are very very protective of the Obama girls. BTW, this is either the second or third interview FLOTUS has done with Jenna Bush Hager.

That is wonderful to hear. Thanks, idon. I didn’t know that she had done previous interviews. I do recall that the Bush girls defended the Obama girls, but I remember thinking that they were defending the principle of leaving WH children alone. I’m glad that they are truly nice young women. Prejudice rears its ugly head – I heard “Bush” and went to a dark place.

Greece ‘may go elsewhere for new deal on debt’

The Greek defence minister has said Greece could turn to the US, Russia or China if it fails to reach a new debt agreement with the eurozone.

Panos Kammenos, who heads the junior coalition partner Independent Greeks, said Greece had an obligation to go to “plan B” if proposals are rejected.

Greece is preparing to plead its case for a new deal at a meeting of eurozone finance ministers on Wednesday.

It says the terms of its €240bn (£182bn) bailout are too severe.

Last month’s election of an anti-austerity government led by left-wing Prime Minister Alexis Tsipras has raised fears that Greece could leave the euro.

EU officials have so far rejected his efforts to renegotiate bailout terms, although German Chancellor Angela Merkel has said she will wait to see if Greece puts forward “a sustainable proposal” on Wednesday.

US chipmaker Qualcomm will pay $975m (£640m) to Chinese authorities to end a 14 month anti-trust investigation into its patent licensing practices.

The fine is the largest in China’s corporate history and will require the firm to lower royalty rates on patents used in China’s mobile phone market.

The move could help Chinese smartphone makers Xiaomi and Huawei.

Qualcomm said on Monday it would not contest the ruling that it violated China’s anti-monopoly law.

    Good morning TOD.

I love those photos of PBO announcing his candidacy 8 years ago.
Mitt should take a look at them.
It isn’t just black people who have always been on board with The President. Can’t tell how many of the faces are jewish but relevant to todays situation I’d guess that plenty of us were in the massive crowds PBO brings out.

    ‘Smart’ insulin hope for diabetes.

Scientists are hopeful that “smart” insulins which are undergoing trials could revolutionise the way diabetes is managed.

Instead of repeated blood tests and injections throughout the day to keep blood sugar in check, a single dose of smart insulin would keep circulating in the body and turn on when needed.

Animal studies show the technology appears to work – at least in mice.

Scientists plan to move to human trials soon, PNAS journal reports.

Experts caution that it will take years of testing before treatments could become a reality for patients.

Panamanian President Juan Carlos Varela signed a bill on Monday aimed at protecting the wetlands outside the capital, Panama City, from a construction boom.

Under the new law, construction is banned in a 85,000-hectare-stretch (210,000 acres) of the Bay of Panama.

The wetlands are a key stopover and wintering area for migratory shorebirds in the Western Hemisphere.

Mr Varela’s predecessor had encouraged construction projects in the area.

The new law, which came into effect on Monday, also bans logging, the removal of soil and any other activity which may affect the mangrove swamps.
