Judging by the title of his book “Believer” I think he has to completely admire, respect, and believe in someone he works for. His relationship with PBO is a never to be duplicated relationship, I’m sure. Glad he’s not joining HRC. I’m sure every potential candidate would like to have him head his/her campaign. They’re all hoping to capture lightning in a bottle, as happened in 2008, and Axelrod helped drive that.
In his book he said that Barack Obama was a once-in-a-lifetime candidate, could never be repeated. Time for him to devote to family and inspiring youth to get involved in politics to shape the future.
The number of American Jews who voted for PBO twice is about 6 times the number that voted for Bibi.
I guess that means President Barack Obama speaks for all Jews. Fine by me.
I watched the news conference this morning and the Vox interview. The WORLD is going to miss this man’s measured, thoughtful approach when he is gone. I don’t know of any other potential president that could have restored the US standing in the world after 8 years of GWB the way that PBO has managed to do. The GOP claim that he is “weak” on foreign policy is just the GOP showing its idiocy. They prefer the GWB style “Mission Accomplished” to actual results. If Putin and Netanyahu are still in power come 2017, I shudder to think what our next president may be goaded into doing. Given the state of the economy that PBO is leaving for the next president, it is so very sad that the Dems can’t field a stronger slate of candidates, and a young candidate. Unless the GOP implodes in the next 18 months–which is a distinct possibility–we could be facing an absolute nightmare with GOP Congress and President.
Not sure what the cause is (Mecury in retrograde, MP?), but seems to be a good deal of handwringing about 2016 here today.
As the old saying goes, let’s not borrow trouble.
The GOP is in CHAOS, at each other’s throats, alienating everyone except the flat-earth society with one stupid comment or another.
My prediction is that there will be a lot of backtracking by the entire GOP clown car this time next year.
Ran out of room for a coherent tweet, but Hispanics are personally “concerned” or “extremely concerned” about climate change precisely because most of them don’t live in the same ivory towers that our feckless DC echo-chamber MSM/GOP/Comcast/Kochs do.
From the article:
“Tony Vazquez of San Jose, Calif., a poll respondent and a former truck driver who now makes nickel plates for car parts, said in a follow-up interview that he would support policies such as national taxes on greenhouse gas pollution, even if that raised the cost of gasoline and electricity from fossil fuels.
‘Where I live, you don’t know what you’re breathing — smog and pollution from refineries, ships, diesel trucks,’ Mr. Vazquez said. ‘You’re breathing it all. They need to do something about air pollution.’
Hispanics are also more likely to be concerned about the impact of global warming outside the United States, Latino researchers say, particularly in Latin America, Mexico and the Caribbean. Stronger droughts and storms there can lead to flooding or shortages of food and water, but people and governments may not be equipped to handle that.”
And from the end of January, don’t forget:
"Chaos could be found around every corner of the Capitol on Tuesday morning"
"legislative 3ring circus" via @lawalazuhttp://t.co/9BPtLSA0VE
No wonder they can’t govern. They didn’t get themselves elected to govern. They got themselves elected to destroy, to “drown the government in a bathtub” They hate government, so it’s hard to understand why they are so anxious to be part of it, except as destroyers. Frankly, they have absolutely no interest in governing, and therefore, don’t.
Arapaho, I responded to this with a very intellectual and tidy summation of Mercury, however was posting from my phone, and Mercury seemed to have objected to my delineation, zip, nada, nort. Have no idea where the comment is, and confess I can’t remember it succinctly enough to attempt a repeat. In short, Mercury retrograde may have a bit to do with it, but the GOP have brought themselves to their knees, and it’s not over yet. They have a ways to go before they are lying on their chins, on the pavement, waiting for the end. How it will arrive, or exactly when, is the bliss they get to ponder while waiting. We will enjoy it. Yes. We. Will. 🙂
I am eager to hear what TOD makes of this:
The Working Families Party in New York has come out in support of Elizabeth Warren.
EW has no more of a chance than HRC has but this is interesting because this is Lady W’s home turf.
NY democrats are not going to get in line for a coronation, apparently. Wow.
i think senator warren has a much greater chance of winning the presidency than lady walmart. hillary has tried a national campaign already, which also has years of “inevitable” fluffing leading up to it, and she failed miserably when put to the NATIONAL test. john edwards even beat her in iowa.
i’ve been getting annoyed at the growing chorus of “she should stay in senate” which is exactly what was happening against senator barack obama. word for word, people were saying the same thing about our now-president as they’re saying about senator warren. i’m still hopeful senator warren decides to go for it, or at least anyone else who could actually win nationally, otherwise we’ll surely have a republican president next.
“On Feb. 6, 2015, the crooked horse of Russian propaganda advanced by leaps and bounds. RT (formerly Russia Today) managed to ensnare Newsweek, a respectable publication, into re-publishing intentionally bogus claims. On Feb. 5, 2015, RT released an article with the following headline: “Ukrainian parliament passes law allowing army deserters to be shot.” The next day, Newsweek took the bait and published an article, entitled: “Ukraine Passes Law to Shoot Deserters.”
Newsweek parrots RT’s false narrative, exclaiming: “The Ukrainian parliament has approved a motion to allow commanders in the armed forces to fire at army deserters and use force against servicemen for “negligence” or “drinking alcohol” while on duty … The act will allow commanders to “utilise drastic measures” – defined by the UN as the use of force and firearms – towards officers caught acting “negligently” or in violation to the code of conduct during combat duty or while they are on border patrol. The new act adds “drinking alcoholic or low-alcoholic beverages” while on duty as an offence punishable by force.””
All that you said and more. They asked questions and then waited respectfully while PBO answered. I love how informative PBO is when he answers questions. JUst wonderful.
“An honest appraisal of the current situation tells us that our old ways of interacting with the world aren’t working. If we didn’t learn that lesson in Vietnam, we certainly should have in Iraq. Once we can accept that, these principles President Obama espoused have the potential to transform the destructive path we’ve been following. In other words, they comprise a foreign policy for the 21st century.”
” helpful information to have for when the upcoming battle over TPP breaks out. We’re likely to hear a lot of accusations that in pushing for this agreement, President Obama has sold out to corporate America. But the real question is whether or not this trade agreement is an improvement on the status quo.”

Hello Chips
Congrats Roberta! ⭐
Hello Chips!
Thanks NCLB
OOOOH my, I snuck in here. Just turned my PC on and kaboom I am furst. 🙂
Was this a good News Conference? Did our WHPC behave themselves.?
Hi Roberta, They were seated in the second row and pretty much ignored. Wash Post got a ? and a few others but none of the toddlers.
I just got watching the Presser. I loved they didn’t call on the WHPC. The questions were more substantive.
The reality soap opera continues…
David Axelrod says he will not be joining the campaign-in-waiting. Maybe sit 2016 out.
Good for him. I wonder what prompted that decision?

Fatigue, maybe. Burnout. Or a polite way of saying he is waiting for another candidate to emerge. We will find out at some point.
I’m thinking a polite way of saying he is waiting for another candidate to emerge. Everyone will be after him.

Good Afternoon, TODers!!!
The number of American Jews who voted for PBO twice is about 6 times the number that voted for Bibi.
I guess that means President Barack Obama speaks for all Jews. Fine by me.
Don’t know if you tweet, Vicki, but I did it for you:
Thank you, 57. If my math is shaky, this isn’t. 23% of Israelis voted for Bibi and 70%+ American Jews voted for PBO.
Bibi’s claims of speaking for all of us is getting lots of pushback as it should.
More accurate, probably, but not as snappy as the first one. I’m grateful for your interest.
I’m getting retweets like crazy. With there was room to give you the credit!
I don’t want credit. Getting the word out is what i do care about.
Doing my best!
I don’t know what offends me more: Boehner, Bibi, or the tepid response from Dems who won’t hold Boehner accountable for his outrageous move.
I’m furious that most Dems are even considering attending this fiasco. Talk about Boehner/Bibi co-dependency.
Love your reasoning Vicki.
TY, Roberta
Good afternoon folks.
Sen. Bernie Sanders has stated he will not attend Bibi’s speech. And, Sanders is Jewish……this should send a strong message.
Good west coast afternoon. I’ve been stuck in internet hell all day!
Congrats Roberta on First 😊
Thank you GGail. What is internet hell?

I applaud African nations to join in the fight against these extremists.
Look at our FLOTUS. Lovely isn’t she.
I hope those spineless Dems can catch it!!!

Worth posting.
GOPathetic – good one
What an honorable man!
This is a wonderful occasion for POTUS to enunciate his own values and integrity. Great interview, with heart.
That was nice of POTUS to call N.C. and talk about our Coach Dean Smith.
