Wiliams says he will be off for a few days but we know how that goes. What is his good friend Letterman saying about this?

The problem the media has with the lies Brian Williams told and the lies chuck todd and Joe Scarborough tell is this: Brian lied in an effort to self-aggrandize, which had no benefit for the 1%ers/GOP/corporations. He also badly damaged his credibility, so his use as a propagandist has been compromised. chuck todd, Scarborough and Lara Logan all lie to advance the GOP cause by attempting to inflict damage on the PBO administration, which IS their job.

And still they expect the US to support them???

Yet, in USA, the Media would NOT report that.
Jimmy Carter in his book years ago showed the current map of what is happening in that area today. C-SPAN Book show on Sunday had him on……..the number of Hate calls and lies targeted at Mr. Carter was beyond reason.
The US Media is part of the problem. The Nation is ill informed and the politicians know this, hence, the foolish destructive policy for the ME lives on.

To be honest pf58, I don’t care for Jebreal. She’s a Greenwald Groupie. And that automatically disqualifies her as a credible or honest broker on any such matter IMO. I would be very very surprised if her “discussion” on CNN tomorrow doesn’t involve an element of Obama bashing….However, I won’t be watching, so that is moot.

There once was a news anchor named Brian
Yeah, some soldiers said he’d been lyin’
They fired: “It’s a tangled web you weave
When first you practice to deceive”
And now Brian’s on vacation, cryin’.

In his speech President Obama left out one of the worst crimes against humanity committed by the Catholic Church, the Albigensian Crusade, where the Cathar or Abigensian believers in Northern Spain and Southern France were wiped out in a genocidal campaign instigated by the Church. Estimates are a million people were killed, whole villages and towns, children and families, wiped out in a murderous campaign. http://www.newworldencyclopedia.org/entry/Albigensian_Crusade He could have also mentioned how the Pope divided South America between Portugal and Spain and gave all rights to military colonization and enslavement of indigenous people to those two countries.

People in Baghdad have been celebrating the lifting of a 12-year-old curfew in the Iraqi capital.

Pictures on social media showed people dancing in the streets as the restriction came to an end at midnight local time (21:00 GMT).

Prime Minister Haider al-Abadi said he had taken the decision to help normalise life in Baghdad.

It came despite a string of explosions in the capital which killed at least 32 people on Saturday.

Residents had previously had their movements restricted between the hours of 00:00 and 05:00.

The Brian Williams/NBC story deserves investigation by real reporters because it has uncovered the lengths MSM will go to deceive their audience.

Annoying, whining, holier-than-thou MoDo breezily states (without saying how she knows) that:

So this takes us back to 2014.

Let’s go back to 2003, when the incident in question occurred:

The lies started in 2003 on the day that Williams filed his (spliced and diced) “report” from Iraq. Technicians were aware of this fraud, as was the camera crew traveling with Williams on that day.

So just like the Iraq War, the lies started from Day One.

For context, here’s the section of the article in my tweet that was quoted from (Tritten is the Stars and Stripes reporter who broke the story this week):
“TAPPER: So there is this moment where somebody’s saying our helicopter is taking small arms fire and it’s not taking it now, but they were and we need to find some place for security, over — that’s in the radio. Do you have any idea what that was in reference to?

TRITTEN: I do, actually. I spoke with the flight engineer on Williams’ Chinook, Joseph Miller, and what he told me is that Williams and the NBC crew, actually, they’d been given a headset and they had taken a microphone, and they had put it in the earpiece of the headset so that they could pick up the radio communications between the company that they were in and another company of Chinooks that was flying a separate mission in the opposite direction. So what you’re hearing is that radio chatter from that other company that was coming under fire.”

I’m sure NBC internal investigations will do as good a job at investigating itself as CBS did with Lara Logan (complete snark):

The liar himself has confessed, what else is there to ‘investigate’? It’s all an eyewash. Wish the cable noise be held to some accountability too.

The only things I can think of are either that they are trying to “save” BriWi by stalling or hoping some confirmation of the lies will come in, or that his big-bucks contract has some conditions in it as to why he can be fired “for cause” – and they’re dotting the i’s and crossing the t’s, before dropping the hammer on him. But, of course, this is the MSM, so no tellin’.

So Arapaho, I’m back from the party and though I’m sorry I wasn’t able to pick you up on the way down, I suspect you would have been a bit cold in that dress you laid out to wear. 😀 It was snowy, slippery/slushy on the highway, and I got ‘lost’ three times. OTH, driving back alone after 1am east coast time I would have been happy to have your company!

I’m too tired to read much tonight, but, anecdotally, I did hear Williams’ 2003 helo pilot tell Jake Tapper first that his helicopter was hit but not by an RPG. Then a day later, CNN said Williams’ pilot had “recanted” that, after his fellow military members on scene in Iraq hit back with their version.

This Brian Williams lying scandal has to have the Clintons shitting their pants. This kind of dishonesty really turns people off and she is guilty of the exact same offense. Maybe some good can come from Brian’s downfall if it convinces Clinton not to run and/or gives other Dems the confidence to run against her in the primaries.

first thing I thought about and wrote about here.
Nena pointed out that politicians—especially Clintons–are known liars, but NBC news anchors are supposed to be trustworthy.

More likely the only lies that get cheers from the media are the ones that hurt Our President.
As Eric so clearly noted on the previous thread.

Must tell you guys that I went to a 65th birthday party tonight and it’s the first time I’ve ever been to a party where the birthday person had such fun! She threw the party for herself, and what a party it was! She sang (like Chipsticks, but all in good fun); she danced; she moved around; she took a professional picture with everyone/family groupings. She was the life of the party. There were over a hundred people there (a few from New York, England,…) and near the end of the evening when she gave her thank you for coming, the birthday girl thanked each table, AND said something personal about each guest at the table!!! Then she topped that with her own version of ‘I did it my way!’ After that the dance floor was officially opened and the DJ had his chance to spin some real oldies. Great evening!

O, and did I mention that this was in a banquet hall so we had a catered dinner and excellent desert choices? I truly had never been to a birthday party like this before!
