Aw shucks – it is going really well our OFA team is really busy. We have been tabling for ACA, we have a planning meeting on Saturday and then a final push for Obamacare sign ups until Feb 15. Then we will work on Immigration and passing a Living Wage for Sonoma County workers. I hope to post here more often. I visit daily but need to chime in more.

      Hi Linda, how are you?

Someone (Judith Fardid?? or was it JackieG??) was saying earlier today that their newsletter recipients were having difficulty accessing your site. She was looking for insights on how to work around this.

      Linda and VC,

It was JackieG’s newsletter from this morning:

      Here’s what JackieG said:
“…since we began our monthly newsletter, I’ve had a link to What Is Working as a place to get information on how to contact representatives. Yesterday one of our recipients said that clicking on WIW introduced a computer virus. We’re trying to figure out what went wrong. Anyone else have this problem?”

    Evening all. Congrats AMK

I love this photo. I know Nancy Smash met with Jewish leaders today and I’m wondering if she’s briefing PBO on that.

Hey everyone, I guess Tim Wise is going to speak at my college. Wondering if I should go and listen to him speak or not.

Jeff – You might try finding some reviews online that could be helpful, if he visits college campuses. I don’t really know much about the guy.

why is the new secdef nominee hell bent on arming Ukrainian rebels?

    Loved josh earnest smackdown.

White House spokesman Josh Earnest later stressed that President Obama – not Mr Carter – would make the final decision on the issue.

Great that Brian Williams is getting fried, but he’s not likely going to try to run for President.

So, I want to take just a moment to suggest we need another trending #, specifically #HillaryClintonMemories She’s a liar and the type of lie she told is the only reason I need never to vote for her. Period.

Some of Pennsylvania’s Dems have really ticked me off; our Treasurer of six years (whom I supported for Gov in the primary) resigned and is pleading guilty to campaign solicitation irregularities (too lazy to look up exact charges…); and the AG (whom I DIDN’T support in primary) seems to be the connected, peter principle, light-weight I thought she was. So much for PA having a deep bench; we are only “slightly” less corrupt that our PA GOP counterparts…

“I was in two wars, and am ready to die in the name of justice. Your prime minister Medvedev said that if they cut off the SWIFT system, Russia is ready for all sorts of measures. I am also ready for all sorts of measures. “I am holding on by strength of willpower. I will go to the end.”

‘I could hear the shouts of “Nigger!” here and there’

‘I admit it scared me, What if I walked onto the court and the entire crowd booed me?’

‘Indian Wells was a pivotal moment of my story, together we have a chance to write a different ending’

    Go Serena.

Eventually I’ll come out of my semi-lurkdom. Not tonight, though. See y’all on the flip.

After reading the #brianwilliamsmemories post, and many of the thoughtful and genuine responses here, it occurred to me this could be his chance to (partly) redeem his soul, and shed light on the underworld we know as the MSM. If he indeed has lost his job, maybe that is not so good for him, but he still retains his longtime persona, and he still has the credibility to turn the whole entire disinformation arena on its ear. I believe he may be the only one who can do this effectively. What does he have to lose now? Nothing. So, BriWi, if you are lurking here, which you may well be, give it some soul-searching and see if you can bring light and drive out darkness. Now is the time. Goodnight all.

MightyPamela – What a great thought. You might try e-mailing that to him, while he still has a published e-mail address?

Wouldn’t that be something, if that’s the path he took!

I just don’t understand how so many kept quiet and perpetuated the lie for so long. How did Brian Williams keep himself deluded for 12 years? The whole thing is preposterous.

If you read the Stars & Stripes piece, seems like the soldiers were busy fighting the war and overlooked it … maybe they didn’t feel then that they had the personal power to speak up about a news reporter’s lie? Think I read that when some of them heard he was still telling the story many years later, they spoke up. There’s something very wrong with Brian Williams’ thinking on this one. Makes you wonder what else may be found. What else he made up, about his “career.” I don’t know if he’s ever done anything like this before, but he’ll always have this “asterisk” next to his name, from this point on. Sad. Not to mention dumb!

This is great. And a great reminder of how rigid we’ve all become, and how beauty takes a back seat sometimes. Ha.

Brian Williams story has reached our news – I liked this comment

“Brian Williams probably has the professional longevity of Tony Abbott,” Anthony McClellan said, a former television executive who has turned into one of the country’s best known reputation and crisis management handlers.

Good news for me and my wife. Evidence that doing child care for grandchildren reduces possibility of Alzheimer’s. Especially since we are expecting twin grandchildren, a boy and a girl, next month, in addition to the granddaughter we already care for 3 days a week. http://wcrz.com/grandparents-who-babysit-are-less-likely-to-develop-alzheimers-video/

Sweet interview with Reggie Love on CNN:

First time I’m seeing this Don Lemon character. He seems like a bad joke.
