Bring on the drones and airstrikes. Of course, like all of their ilk, at heart they are cowards, killing innocents and then hiding amongst civilians. To me, this is the most despicable aspect of all terrorists. If you want to fight, then uncover your faces, identify yourself and truly fight rather than taking innocent hostages and hiding. What scum.

It is also truly amazing that they can’t find these scumbags. Just can’t believe with all the technology, they can’t be traced somehow.

    Or were they home-schooled?

I know this is trivial, but I’ve glancing at the t.v. all day with the volume on mute. In my mind I kept seeing “Buried” alive. Only when I sat down to actually watch the t.v. did I know that he was “Burned” alive. As someone noted above these monsters have gone from beheadings to now burning their hostages. I am speechless at the depravity, and sheer barbarism of these monsters. If there is a hell I hope these monsters spend an eternity in it.

    • February 3, 2015 at 2:06 pm

Yep. And if it takes sick people to “make the market work”, just too bad. Market is the GOD !!!

While we’re at it, why inspections of food ? After all, you just have to wait for people to die, and the guilty companies will be naturally eliminated. Market ! Market !

So he would require a sign saying the establishment does not require hand washing …..and that is NOT overreach ?

Thanks for running away from PBO ….FORMER Senator Hagan.

I just tweeted this – post a sign that allows the public to decide if they want to eat at a filthy establishment that values money over safety. Should do the same for those who opposed health care for their food worker employees, like Papa Johns. I certainly wouldn’t dream of eating at an establishment that said they don’t care if the people working for them can afford to see a doctor if they’re sick…

    • February 3, 2015 at 2:28 pm

As a health care worker, I just find that nasty. Public health is not government overreach.

One of the purposes of terrorism is to create specific reactions in those you attempt to terrorize. There was, I think, a specific reason why the decision was made to burn the Jordanian pilot as opposed to beheading. Those that have been beheaded where non-Arabs. The victims were from societies that view beheadings as horrible, barbaric acts, so horrible that it would make the countries from which the victims came not want to risk it being done again or bring them into the conflict full bore, thus creating a non-Arab against Arab conflict which they could use for recruiting purposes. Note that neither has happened.

In many Arab countries, however, beheadings is seen as appropriate punishment for certain crimes. The barbarism is not in play. Burning alive, however, does a couple things. First of all, the sanctity of the body is important to Muslims. Burning someone goes against that. Secondly, they want to prevent other Muslim countries from going after them. I think they may believe that other Arab pilots will refuse to go after them if this is what they may face if captured. If that were to happen, it would then become non-Arab against Arab again.

In this, I think, they have made a major miscalculation. I think this is going to make the other Arab/Muslim nations in the area even more dedicated to eradicating them. I think it will also contribute to turning many Sunni tribes that have been somewhat supporting them to turn against them.

This was a very desperate act on their part. They will still take a while to be exterminated, but it will happen, and this action may bring that day closer, not further away.

My caveat is, of course, that I may have absolutely no idea what I am talking about and could be totally wrong in my assumptions and conclusions.

The Eleventh Circuit has denied the state defendants’ motion for a stay pending appeal of the Alabama marriage equality ruling. The current (temporary) stay will expire on February 9. I suspect that Alabama state defendants will now request the stay from the SCOTUS. The SCOTUS denied a similar stay request from Florida (which is also included in the Eleventh Circuit) state officials in December of last year.

So if AL requests a stay from SCOTUS and they grant AL the stay I think we can interpret that maybe the SCOTUS will overturn marriage equality in states that voted for it.

If find it funny when unemployment drops under a DEM President it’s always a “big lie” or it doesn’t include people who stopped looking. Under Bush they never talked about the unemployment rates of those who stopped looking or the low job creation. I predict many of those that stopped looking or working part time are Baby Boomers who took SS at 62 yrs old and decided to work part time or go into business for themselves thanks to ACA aka Obamacare.

Building and programing a robot from scratch may sound like an impossible task to most primary school students, but one man is changing that mind-set for a generation of Ugandans.

By showing students as young as six how robots can solve real-world problems, Fundi Bots founder Solomon King Benge wants young people to develop a creative skill set they can apply to solve issues specific to their lives. [,,,,,]

So the DNC called me again this afternoon looking for donations. I feel bad saying No to them as it is probably what the GOP would like to hear. but i told her I will see how much they support my president next year and i’ll decide then. If my money is going to HRC or people like Grimes et al that tanked our last best chance to rally around him that is not ok with me. Now suddenly they are all about supporting this president when it comes to my donation. blech.

    Dear Pamela:

Thank you for writing. I appreciate your thoughtfulness.

Like many Americans, I strive each day to observe healthy habits. Despite my busy schedule, I try to exercise regularly and eat well because I know these activities help maintain mental and physical well-being. These habits are important not just for me, but also for my family, and for all Americans.

Thank you, again, for writing. I wish you all the best.

Linda may be referring to this:

Not a surprising vote for someone who represents the state where PBO delivered his speech to announce his executive action on immigration.

With a Latino GOP Governor (Sandoval), wouldn’t be smart to be a RWNJ on immigration in that state apparently.

        February 3, 2015 at 4:27 pm

DHS funding that included blocking PBO’s immigration orders.

I am pretty sure McConnell with have that stripped out and bring the bill back up….but then the House will have to vote on it again.

Rand Paul’s Alex Jones Problem: Vaccines And “Martial Law”

Rand Paul’s connection to leading conspiracy theorist Alex Jones is under new scrutiny after the Republican senator recently claimed vaccines could lead to “mental disorders.”

In 2009, Paul was interviewed for Jones’ show and claimed “martial law” could lead to “mandatory” vaccinations. Paul is one of Jones’ biggest enablers even though the radio host has pushed fringe theories about 9-11, mass shootings, and the federal government.
