I think this is the first jersey I’ve seen where they called him “Barack” – cool.

I wonder where he’ll keep all of his gifts? I’d love for him to have a Presidential Library in Chicago and an ‘annex’ in Hawaii. I’m sure he’ll have enough material!

“As some Iowa Democratic activists voice frustration with the “arrogance” of Hillary Clinton, liberal rival Martin O’Malley intends to seize on her absence from Iowa and the presidential race.”

      • February 2, 2015 at 3:31 pm

        to be continued..

.suffice to say…for me…i am glad that Gov O’Malley is not buying that Hillary Clinton is the heir apparent…

          February 2, 2015 at 3:38 pm

Sorry to be the bearer of bad news but Martin O’Malley’s op-ed in NY Times is anti-Obama. Probably the only way to get his work published in NYT but it is sad, nonetheless.

“Don’t Drill Along the East Coast” is the title and the opening sentence states that the Obama Administrations decision last week was a big mistake. Can’t tell you what the rest of it said because I stopped reading.

            February 2, 2015 at 3:48 pm

Hey Vicki – I read the article and I don’t see how it could be perceived as anti-Obama. Disagreeing with a policy does not make someone Anti anything. O’Malley’s point is this…

“We must make better choices for a more secure and independent energy future. In Maryland, over just eight years, we increased renewable-generation capacity by 57 percent, became a hub for new clean-tech businesses and jobs, and cut emissions by 10 percent. Clear goals, accountability and consistent choices drove better results.

As a nation, we must pursue the imperatives of accelerating cutting-edge clean-energy research, taking away the subsidies that give the advantage to the oil companies of the past over the renewable businesses of the future, modernizing our energy grid, and letting the market drive further innovation by limiting carbon emissions, among other measures.

Clean, inexhaustible sources of energy represent the biggest business opportunity in at least a century. The threat of climate change is real and immediate. Expanding offshore drilling is irreconcilable with the realities of climate science and irrelevant, at best, to taking advantage of the vast economic opportunities clean energy presents. We must move firmly toward a clean energy future.”

smh…it seems this racist turn in the DEM party doesn’t not leave much room for people like me…

it is a pity…the DEMS cannot win without the blk vote…we are their most consistent constituency…but we are also the constituency that they spit on the most….

whatever happens..i will not vote for a candidate that spits on the President and by extension spits on the black community..

.count on it..I won’t be the only one!

Right here with you, PF58 ! I understand folks putting forth their own real views on issues but they all seem to counter PBO without offering anything new and different. Just don’t be PBO. In reality, they can’t live up to PBO’s talents or ideas, so they have to formulate a “new” agenda, which only works to highlight, for me, the good we already have.

I caught the tailend of that BS…. They double teamed her…..

I just sent a really long rant to CNN. Wolf tried to bring up Tusi Gabbard as some kind of expert on terrorism.

Gabbard has been caught lying more than once. She claimed she could not attend a Veterans meeting IN HAWAII because she was at another meeting…. Later it was found out that she was really doing a surfing video for Yahoo News.

Then she tried to get the CDC to change the incubation period for Ebola from 10-14 days to 42 days based on bad info.

Then she announced she was engaged and getting married in April , but would not say who she was getting married to.

opps. the snoops found out he is a Videographer…..hmmmm.

I don’t like or trust Tulsi….she is a typical rw military person.

I have the answer: In their desperate search to get a Black man to take it to the President, the morons on the right think that it is all about “a Black novelty”. First, there was Mr. 999 Adulterous Pizza Man Herman Cain. Now, they are pushing the brainless neurosurgeon.

W.T. Scott was one of the most prominent free-born Blacks to rise from the ashes of Reconstruction, yet he remains a largely forgotten figure. Bruce L. Mouser, professor emeritus at the University of Wisconsin-La Crosse, has authored the most defining Scott biography to date: “A Black Gambler’s World of Liquor, Vice, and Presidential Politics: William Thomas Scott of Illinois, 1839–1917” (University of Wisconsin Press, $24.95).

Born in Ohio in 1839, Scott was a free man before the Civil War. He joined the Union Navy in 1863 and served at Cairo, Ill., the headquarters of Union Forces in the West during the Civil War. He saw the end of slavery and was already a political player when African Americans obtained the right to vote in 1870.

As noted in the foreword by Henry Louis Gates, Jr.: “As Mouser shows, Scott spent his life figuring out — and satisfying — men’s interests with liquor, gambling, and women, and … [he] refused to be complicit in backing politicians who took him and the broader base of first-generation Black voters for dupes … Scott saw the political game for what it was: a game of power.”

I wish these people in congress would use THEIR Time on the Floor……..using C-SPAN Live to speak 24/7 on some form of organized rotation to drive their messages. Twitter is Not satisfactory.
GOP controls both chambers. They don’t allow the chambers to be out of session. I have called DW-S suggesting this. I have left messages with Pelosi. Nothing.
Issues with Taxes, Voting, too much money in politics, etc should be expressed 24/7 on the floor of the house……make the GOPers come up with Nothing or Address the issues and as they do this, challenge the Media to cover these issues.

The Denver Post is in possession of a video from the scene that reportedly shows officers searching Hernandez’ limp and dying body as she bled out, moving her around like a rag doll. The video has not yet been released.

Laura Rosales Hernandez is now calling for a second, independent autopsy, citing that she does not trust the official investigation. She is also calling for the Department of Justice to conduct a civil rights investigation into her daughter’s death.

Massive Oil Job Losses Debunk The Lie That Obama Is Hostile To The Oil Industry

According to a careful assessment by the Federal Reserve Bank of Dallas, they estimate that at least 250,000 oil industry jobs across eight U.S. states will be lost in 2015; there have already been tens-of-thousands of jobs lost in 2014. There will be hundreds-of-thousands of support and downstream jobs lost as well. In what is bad news for good old Texas, well over half of those quarter-of-a-million job losses will occur in the Lone Star state that leads the nation in oil production. One wonders how Republicans will portray the massive job losses that will affect the eight states’ economies because President Obama has presided over an epic oil production bonanza, or if they will back off of their claim that America desperately needs the KeystoneXL pipeline to “ensure America’s energy independence, or if they put a halt to calling for exploration and drilling in America’s national parks.

    http://www.politicususa.com/2015/02/02/massive-oil-job-losses-debunk-lie-obama-hostile-oil-industry.html

As a side note….there have been 40 deaths at the Williston North Dakota Field in the past 4 years.
