ha! you all are up early!

    Okay, I will 🙂

I see you are gathering some new followers – no doubt they will think this is the “official” diary of PBO 🙂

      • January 25, 2015 at 5:56 am

🙂 This is a regular problem on these foreign trips, at this stage I think I’ll just reply with -bo written at the end 🙂

          January 25, 2015 at 6:02 am

You are such a hoot – and no wonder they think it is official – no-one else seems to even mention that the President is travelling. I thought I would check cnn on line – front page ISIS and Auschwitz – with a few GOP political events added in – unreal

On the politics page – PBO going to see the new Saudi King gets a large picture – but not India – a democratic country of a billion people and the US media doesn’t know of its existence. Tis no wonder a large proportion of the people are completely ignorant as to what the President does outside of DC

          • January 25, 2015 at 6:04 am

Exactly right 99ts. And the ignorance of the WHPC at foreign press conferences is what really gets me, they have absolutely no interest in their host country, just in asking petty nonsense about stuff back home. Grrrr.

I got a bunch of these too. 🙂
Some with absolutely NO English in the tweet or the graphic, so I have no clue what they’re saying.

gm early early birds – thank you again Ms Chips, the US media doesn’t appear to know that PBO is in India

    a mere 9pm here – good timing

  5. January 25, 2015 at 5:51 am

Oooh, making lots of new Twitter friends 😕

    Good early to Sunday TODville,

Didn’t realize a new thread opened up, bringing this over from the last one:

    * * * * * * * * * *
Missed AF1 arrival in India 😦 , but woke to see ndtv live coverage of the bi-lateral discussion between Presidents Obama and Modi — very animated, both leaders leaning in towards one another with lots of facial expressions and hand gestures — looked like an Italian get-together, LOL.

Awaiting press conference to announce that the obstacles to the India-US nuclear deal (to allow US private companies to build civilian nuclear power stations in India) have been surmounted, and that PBO will leave India with ANOTHER Presidential accomplishment. (Our despicable MSM is under the delusion that PBO is as lazy as they are, so they ignore the whirlwind of tangible, concrete accomplishments completed in the last two months.)

Appalled that the US media uses this opportunity to bash President Obama, rather than report on the stunning reception offered by the gracious Indian people. I know that part of their GOP agenda to refuse to let Americans in on a secret the entire world knows but us — how respected our President is by other nations, and how he truly is the Leader of the Free World in their eyes.

Thank you, 99 (did you ever see that American sit-com “Get Smart,” with Barbara Feldon as Agent 99?

Loved that show when I was a kid — the cone of silence, KAOS, etc. LOL.

Always look forward to seeing your comment and perspective from Down Under.

What does that weasel Abbott have to say about this?

Arapaho, thank you for stating so clearly what our President hopes to accomplish in India. The US media IS appalling, despicable, pitifully biased and every other negative epithet we can give them. I’ll bet many of them are traveling to India with the president, but are spending time memorizing the GOP talking points texted to them at regular intervals. I’m sure foreign leaders feel great sympathy with our president when he has to deal with the US media yahoos at press conferences.

You couldn’t be more correct about Our President. Loved and respected worldwide and disrespected by morons on the editorial pages of our POS newspapers. (Maureen Dowd in todays NYTimes-pathetic crazy crap)

    January 25, 2015 at 6:08 am

Just listened to CBS national radio news to see what they had to say about PBO in India, and the report said he was “distracted” while aboard AF1 by the horrific news of the awful murder of a Japanese hostage by ISIS.

It’s now clear to me that the adjectives MSM uses to describe PBO are the MSM projecting what objective observers see in the MSM– “distracted,” “complained,” etc.

I’m enjoying watching the Indian people in the live stream – they are so exuberant and look so cheerful – I hope all the whpc fools have jet lag. So agree with your words on how the US media slant anything about the President to reflect their own thoughts not those of the President.

      January 25, 2015 at 7:12 am

MSM are such obvious war-mongering cheerleaders, it’s nauseating.

Glad PBO put her in her place though. Americans have no desire to engage in a land war in either Ukraine or the Arabian Peninsula.

      • 59 jackiegrumbacher
        January 25, 2015 at 8:21 am

President Obama is so masterful at dealing with these jackals I wonder they haven’t learned that he makes them look like fools. They stand up every time trying to embarrass him and he turns it back so skillfully on them, they don’t even realize they’ve been skewered. They ought to just flat out called themselves the GOP Propaganda Corps.

    January 25, 2015 at 6:41 am

ugh. first question about ukraine. do they really have no sense of decorum, of courtesy? couldn’t they just for a little while focus on what the president is saying and doing before changing the subject? and why the hell are they on this trip to india if they have no interest in reporting on the president’s work there?????
    i’m going to bed.

Before President Obama and PM Modi’s joint statement, NDTV seemed disappointed that @FLOTUS did not accompany PBO to the meeting.

I’m hopeful she was viewing and touching the sumptuous fabrics that PM Modi graciously offered our First Lady, and that she’ll order some fabric she can wear on the First Family’s next visit to India (when hopefully world events will permit their visit to the Taj Mahal [and tigers, too]).

Saw the discussion earlier here about @FLOTUS not being able to accept the sari gift from PM Modi — that the gift will go to the Presidential Gift Museum (or whatever it’s called), but she can certainly buy some fabric or order a gown while she’s in India.

    Another one:

Ha!! The Prime Minister trolling. Well played sir.

    • 74 99ts
      January 25, 2015 at 7:58 am

She didn’t even ask a question – she gave her viewpoints on Yemen, Ukraine, climate change – and then asked the President and the PM to agree with her!! The US media no longer reports news – they have made themselves the soothsayers of life and all must bow before them. The GOP agrees while they agree with the GOP.

A most interesting turn of events in Qld politics – a Limbaugh look alike from talk radio has come out against the Qld right wing government. Suddenly the politicians who loved him through thick and thin are now suing because he said nasty things about them. This from a man who never stopped his attacks on Julia Gillard – who never bothered to sue him.

      • January 25, 2015 at 8:04 am

Thanks meta – the question started out bad – and then she “explained” to President Obama that his sanctions weren’t working and Putin was doing fine!!! and her remark to the PM on climate change was insulting to the core – especially since most of her GOP supporters don’t even think climate change exists

      • January 25, 2015 at 8:23 am

        Greetings 99…

have you had a chance to read an essay written by Hank Green…one of the you tube personalities that interviewed the President the other day…he gives his thoughts on the why MSM was upset about PBO allowing them to interview him and also about why the President went outside the MSM…worth a read…he nails it…

“Of the people they asked to participate this year, I was the safest bet. I’m a 34-year-old white male with a graduate degree.”

“Bethany Mota is a 19-year-old who is easy to write off as just another cute, fashionable girl. Though, as is often the case with people who get written off that way, there’s a lot of complexity there. She’s smart, caring, funny, and charming. She already has her own fashion line at Aeropostale. ”

“Glozell Green is a 52-year-old comedian who has made a name for herself on YouTube with some outrageous challenge videos. Also, she is whip-smart, savvy, and has a laser-like focus on her goals.”

His discussion of the “old” media was 100% fact.

AND if Glozell is truly 52, I’m feeling like I’m 123! Lots of right wing jealousy there.

    • January 25, 2015 at 8:06 am

BOOM! The US media is arrogant as hell because they feel that they’re “okay” as long as they are being bankrolled by the Kochs. But that money will dry up…and sooner than they think.

You just wait hopefruit2! When President Obama leaves office most of these media types are going to have to go out and earn a living. You never heard anything about most of them before Barack got elected, they really think that they go where they are on their own accord. No, most of them became famous because of President Obama.

Oooh, I love Modi. Knock them sideways–they deserve every in your face rebuke they get. Foreign leaders and foreign press “get it,” The US media is stupid and incompetent. And it wouldn’t take much to answer them in a language far from their comprehension. Just using two syllable words should do it.

I’ll bet there’s a tremendous amount of bonding between our president and foreign leaders after these press conferences–laughs shared about the WHPC and their silly questions, pats on the back and great admiration for the person who has to put up with the stupidity all the time. Then later, foreign leaders must start to wonder what the hell is wrong with Americans who tolerate the lies and the idiocy, which is a very good, unanswerable question.
