It was really serious yesterday morning when I woke to no internet….I am a creature of habit and I wake early to read and have my coffee before work. That didn’t happen yesterday and I was all discombobulated! Great to be normal again:)

AT&T took five days to come out and fix mine. I thought I would lose my mind. I used my phone a little, but I need to sit at a decent computer with a keyboard to be comfortable.

GM Chips, Congrats on 1st COS. amk, have you seen the video of these dogs it is hilarious. My house in Texas had a pool and Sons labs would come over and go swimming they loved it. Unfortunately I had to clean the pool up from all the hair and oils after they left. My Megan wouldn’t go near the water, I put her in once and she didn’t speak to me for weeks. One day she was out in the back and I didn’t pay any attention, pretty soon she is at the door soak and wet and my only conclusion was she fell in and was able to swim to the steps and come out, she gave it a wide berth after that., Have a great day everyone.

Morning all. The Obamas are blessed with beautiful hands–long, graceful and expressive and the morning photo captures all of that. Even the handsomest actors/actresses lack this feature and when the cameras focus on their hands, you get an “ugh” feeling. I’d love to know if our President and FLOTUS saw each others’ hands when they first met and said–“ok, that’s the one.”

I have been struggling with computer issues, not related to the internet. My computer behaves perfectly in the early morning and gets increasingly temperamental as the day goes on, freezing up and then refusing to post or link. I end up having to reboot several times a day.

    • January 23, 2015 at 9:11 am

I agree jackie. I know only one actor whose hands I LOVE to see….and he still doesn’t beat the Obamas in the hands department! πŸ™‚

As with everything else in life, the Obamas set a high bar as hand models.

Years ago read an article about a hand model, what it took to have such beautiful hands, that her hands were insured for many bucks, that she basically had to have someone else do anything physically productive.

She, of course, had blindingly white hands that no doubt glowed in the dark ;).

The Obama’s hands are such an appealingly rich hue — they remind me of my 3rd grade teacher, Mrs. Schuyler, who had gorgeous caramel hands. I loved when she came over to my desk to point out or hand me something. Regrettably I never asked her ancestry, but now I think she may have had Indian (either/both) or African bloodlines. She also had beautiful eyes.

Morning MUST READ>…then pass it along. Boner needs to be thrown in the brig to think about his treasonous actions. Then he can be relieved of the duties he’s not capable of handling.

      January 23, 2015 at 9:24 am

I certainly agree with you, Df. Boehner is very close to committing treason against the US and people need to understand how radical a move this is. Every news outlet in the country would be screaming 24 hours a day if a Democratic speaker had done this to a Republican president. There would be talk of indicting the Speaker as well as expulsion from the House. IF Democrats had any spine they would be calling Boehner out, but they are terrified of pro-Israeli lobbyists.

      • 59 desertflower
        January 23, 2015 at 9:50 am

This is what happens when the people in elected office “forget” who they REALLY work for! They need to find some balls that aren’t deflated and call this whole treasonous thing what it is…I would think those ” patriots” among us would appreciate that.

        Morning TOD.

Jackie, this web site https://www.opensecrets.org/politicians/summary.php?cid=N00000699 gives from whom the congress critters get their money. I was so angry yesterday I did a little research. Senator Menendez gets money from Israel Pacs, individuals, lobbyists, etc. I also say follow the money. So this is why he is backing Boehner’s invitation to Bibi. Boehner should be censured. And you are 100% correct. If the spineless Democrats would just stand up. I didn’t look to see how many are in the pockets of conservative Israelis, but what I do know is that this has never been done to another President. These neocons (including blue dog Dems) want war with Iran and they are hell bent and determined to get one.

      • January 23, 2015 at 11:30 am

This is where our media fails us the most….the media should be informing the public about the significance of Boehner going around the President..most Americans do not know how their government work…which branch of government does what….

I read the article and one of the things mentioned is that they will be waited on by the Presidential suite butler but that’s not true. Because the President is also the CIC, all contact with him,for security reasons, especially intimate contact such as changing the sheets, providing toiletries, cleaning the rooms, and preparing and serving his food has to be performed by US military personnel, usually the Navy or Marines. The President’s body waste is even collected so other nations cannot use it against us. The wingnut fools who think the President has regular hotel service when he goes abroad are so stupid and blinded by their hate, they can’t see the faultiness in their assertions. However, this article appears to have been written by a foreign journalist.

Right you are idon! My Dad told us his first job as a young Marine was to do those very things for a Colonel (and his wife). When we asked what was your first job in the Marines, he said “being a slave” and described it just has you did (only more gross).. It was either that or be a cook. Those where pretty much the only options for African American teenagers who enlisted in the 50s, with or without education. In my Dad’s case it was only a 10th grade one. Anyway,he said he couldn’t take doing but for a short while (apparently the folks poor hygiene habits were a bit much for him). So after a couple of stints in the stockade for refusing the work when they wouldn’t accept his request for reassignment, they reassigned him to the mess hall. He cooked until his enlistment was up, then re-enlisted in the Army. At least there, you could be placed in the infantry.Dad became a Green Beret, served 4 tours in Vietnam and later used the GI Bill to get two degrees. No more “slave work” for him. πŸ˜€

PM Narendra Modi is likely to gift over a 100 Banarasi sarees and Banarasi silk dress materials to United State’s first lady Michelle Obama. Obama has been earlier spotted wearing Jacquard silk dresses by international designers Tracy Resse, Naeem Khan and Alexander McQueen and jacquard silk, just happens to be a speciality of the weavers of Banaras.

Banarasi silk sarees and dress materials with antique designs has been specially chosen for Mrs Obama and has been sent off to New Delhi.

The responsibility of selecting and packaging the gift has been given to a body of silk traders of Varanasi – the Varanasi Vastra Udyog Sangh.

The Democratic fundraising letters no longer make me mad, they make me laugh. Yesterday’s gem began with “It’s finally crystal clear..” and goes on to describe how the House GOP is attempting undermine women’s health care choices. It ends with “Let’s go fight and win” and is signed “Democrats who fight back.” Translated this means, we have been asleep at the wheel and have never before noticed that the GOP doesn’t care about our issues. We have no idea how to fight back, but you’ve all been talking about “fighting” so we thought if we said we were fighters you would send us some money. I was tempted to ask who the Democrats Who Fight Back are since they weren’t in evidence in November, 2014. I guess all the responses we gave to Democratic organizations about their cowardice in 2014 were given to the consultants who decided that “fight” letters might be more effective than the “we are doomed” without your money ones were were treated to last year. You gotta laugh so you won’t cry.

I can’t tell you how thoroughly distressed I am that they appear to have learned ZERO from the mid-terms, even though they sent out a “survey” and asked for our feedback.
