There he goes again that POTUS. Making good on his claims. To the idiots who whined about what the USA got from Cuba—-here is one good thing. Amongst many many good outcomes the new Cuba policy will surely produce.

In other news: Martin Dempsey has come out strongly in favor of closing Guantanamo’s military prison.

Unity March that PBO should go to??? NOT!!!

If you are good at this please post a link here.

After the photo op the group did lead the march for a bit. Not sure how long, exactly, as I was in a dark and hushed theater by then, watching Selma.
Netanyahoo made his move when the march began. He is not in the front in the official photo.

  6. January 12, 2015 at 11:13 am

Yes even that piece of crap Jake Tapper has the nerve to say he is ashamed that President Obama didn’t show up in Paris. I email CNN and told them that there are plenty of times I am ashamed of Jake Tapper and CNN. I told CNN that the only ones who are trying to make this into some big story is the U.S. media and some right wing haters. All day and all night Jake Tapper and CNN were covering that recent plane which went down, but I don’t recall Tapper and CNN giving the same coverage to Boko Haram who recently murder 2000 people. I told CNN that I have no doubt that this President is leading the fight against terrorism, and his administration is working with others who are in this fight. And the fact that he was not in some staged photo-op does not bother me, not one bit.

Next faux media outrage about PBO..completely ignoring his security concerns:

Image and video hosting by TinyPic

“…When Obama visits India later this month to be the chief guest at the Republic Day parade, New Delhi may just decide to be a little flexible. Officials here say they may do away with the established tradition of the visiting chief guest and India’s president traveling in the same car to the parade grounds….

…It is the first time that a U.S. president will be a chief guest at India’s Republic Day parade. Obama’s security officers appear to have indicated to New Delhi that he will prefer to travel in his own Beast (as Obama’s limousine is called) — from Indian President Pranab Mukherjee’s palatial residence to the parade grounds, a drive of about five minutes — because of security concerns. Tradition demands that the visiting dignitary travel with the Indian president to the parade, which includes displays of military prowess and cultural floats. One Indian official said that a final decision has not been made but that New Delhi is flexible….continued”

The SS and the President must be ahead of everyone. Every planner and thinker. They cannot make mistake. I respect the choices made by this President. The MSM and the wackos can go wild in their judgments, but POTUS can’t afford this luxury. He should travel when and how the SS believe it to be appropriate.

NYC Mayor Bill de Blasio launched the issuing of NYC municipal ID cards today.
The ID cards will be issued to NYC residents without questioning immigration status. It is intended to immediately improve the lives of undocumented New Yorkers.

In order to encourage All New Yorkers to apply for the new IDs thereby erasing any potential stigma, the new cards come with substantial benefits and discounts to over 30 cultural institutions. These benefits will only be for one year.

Bill de Blasio is a true progressive liberal decent caring leader. America needs a lot more de Blasios and many fewer Scalises.

The 15 Democratic senators poised to decide the fate of the country

But these Democratic senators are the ones to watch, especially if you live in their state. They could either help moderate the GOP to produce some reasonable legislation or they could sell out regular folks for political gain. But they will be the real power brokers of the 114th.

    Most likely gets:
    Sen. Joe Donnelly (D-IN)
    Sen. Heidi Heitkamp (D-ND)
    Sen. Joe Manchin III (D-WV)

    Next tier of possibilities:
    Sen. Timothy M. Kaine (D-VA)
    Sen. Angus King (I-ME)
    Sen. Mark R. Warner (D-VA)

    The rest:
    Sen. Michael F. Bennet (D-CO)
    Sen. Thomas R. Carper (D-DE)
Sen. Robert P. Casey, Jr. (D-PA)
    Sen. Christopher A. Coons (D-DE)
    Sen. Martin Heinrich (D-MN)
    Sen. Amy Klobuchar (D-MN)
    Sen. Claire McCaskill (D-MO)
    Sen. Jeanne Shaheen (D-NH)

  28. January 12, 2015 at 1:27 pm

    Give witness …

“To all those concerned about my fate

A heartfelt thank you for your support. Believe me, I feel it despite the fact that the Russian Investigative Committee has deprived me of the right to correspondence. I have not received a single letter for two months and so I can’t answer you. I’m saying thank you now, therefore, to all those who have written to me or simply remembered me with a kind word. That has filled me with strength.

Now about the hunger strike. I know that very many people at all levels in Ukraine and throughout the world are doing a lot to secure my release and I am very grateful to them.

I never anticipated such support because both in Ukraine and in the whole world right now there are plenty of problems besides mine…. I am very aware of your concern and feel ashamed that from prison I myself can do almost nothing. I have therefore decided to fight in the only way available to me – through hunger strike.

But I don’t want you to worry too much about me. Thank God, as well as thanks to my genetic code and my parents, I have the health of an astronaut and will endure. And the part you are playing in my fate will help me in that. Every person who even once a day just thinks good things about me will give me faith and strength, while each who thinks badly will add to my determination and anger!

Yulya Tymoshenko wrote me a letter in which she asks me to suspend my hunger strike and preserve my strength since “the enemy needs us to be weak”. These are very wise words. Thank you, Yulya Volodymyrovna.

But I want to reassure you that I have never been weak and never will be! They cannot break my spirit, and I’m not going to get into battle with the prison guards! The main thing is to hold out in spirit, and my physical strength will recover. .. And if God has need for something else, then so be it … the loss of one fighter is a very great loss, but it is in no way a lost war! Ukraine will win!”

Well, a person who was born free and not a slave in captivity, cannot live in prison. Especially if he or she is innocent.

Through my protest – my hunger – I wish to achieve common sense from the Russian authorities and an awakening of conscience from the Russian Investigative Committee. There is irrefutable evidence of my lack of involvement and innocence of the crimes they accuse me of. What else do they need?

I have taken the decision to go on hunger strike myself and nobody pushed me into it. I have given my word that “Until the day I return to Ukraine, or until the last day of my life in Russia!” and I will not back down, otherwise what value would my words have?!

I will get through! Thank you for believing in me!

    Nadya Savchenko, 12 January 2015”

ALBUQUERQUE (KRQE) – District Attorney Kari Brandenburg plans to file murder charges on Monday against the two Albuquerque police officers who shot James Boyd in the Sandia Foothills last March, according to multiple sources with firsthand knowledge of her decision.

It will mark the first time an APD officer has faced criminal charges for shooting someone in the line of duty in New Mexico’s largest city. APD has one of the highest rates of police shootings in the country, and the Boyd’s death was the result of the most controversial in a series of 27 fatal shootings here since 2010.

Update: Charges filed. Press conference at 2:00 PM today

Great job calling out the bullshit of the US media re: PBO not attending the march in France. This is yet another concerting attack of the MSM/GOP on the President, left, right and center. Seems to be a similar strain of bull as that spewed by Ed Schultz concerning PBO not marching in a pro-union rally in Wisconsin a few years back (I guess Black folks are supposed to march according to our myopic and racist media). Kudos to those fighting the propaganda with facts and truth. The lockstep nature of this (as well as all the other fake scandals) should be a major clue that this in nothing more than a propaganda offensive by the MSM/GOP. PBO’s approval ratings have been climbing, and the MSM is tasked with fighting this reality (can’t have any “Comeback Kid” articles about PBO, must be 24/7 negativity).

They are pro-GOP shills. Had PBO attended the march, they would be complaining that other Presidents never did such things and PBO is tarnishing the office. No use attempting to use reason and logic on the shills, they are doing what they are paid handsomely to do (throw political mud at PBO is hopes of helping the GOP). As mentioned up thread, Ed Schultz had a fit when PBO did not march in Wisconsin. I think our racist media thinks that it is in Black folks’ DNA to march as I don’t remember prior Presidents being expected to march with protestors. Just when I think my disdain of the media could not go any higher, they manage to sink to new depths.

Did not say Schultz was “all the media”, just pointed out one of his many “disappointments” with PBO. I’m not sure I can agree with your assessment that Schultz is “Not against PBO”. He famously told dems not to vote in 2010 to punish PBO for not getting the public option. In my opinion, Schultz is as much a shill as the rest of them, but is more dangerous because some folks think he is genuine. I agree that the media handles this Whitehouse much differently than prior administrations
