I’m glad when ever lurkers make a comment and I especially like the fact that they felt enough like part of the TOD village to cast a vote. It’s the evil-doers that I don’t want to play with us and Chips keeps them out. 🙂
My choice won! This pic represents goodness, and the hope for a better world. The # 2 pic represented a man of goodness secure in himself but evil was circling all around. So the photo of the year has NO EVIL….. only the goodness is shinning through.
You guys keep this up I’m going to get a swelled head for an idea that really didn’t originate with me. I’m very pleased it turned out so well, and that everyone had fun (especially while growling at the ring mistress)!

Wonderful, glorious result. I love it and celebrate it, a most worthy winner. Two great human beings, who walk their talk and lead by example as well as by word and deed, delighting in each other’s presence. I could light up a dark room with this picture. My personal final choices came down to the veterans: the Filipina nurse and the Buffalo Soldiers and the gents at the D-Day celebration won my heart. They show his deep respect for the service of all our military members, past and present, and remind me of my father, whose service in WWII meant so much to him throughout his life. What all these photos radiate is the profound goodness of our President, and of his family; their grace, humor, and boundless love for each other. Can’t believe all these varied, superb images and moments are from but one single year! VC, you gave a great gift to the world. Chips, how on earth did you wrangle all this into a system that was so easy for us to use, and such a pleasure, and all while working from a pile of jagged wood formerly known as a desk? Hello Chips and TOD family! My first choice did not win, but I love this one so much and it is an excellent choice. I remember when those two met. I went to aerobics the next day here in Georgia, and a woman was almost screaming at me that Obama was a liar, that he pretended to be a Christian, but was in fact a Muslim. Sounded as if the Pope did not like Obama, nor did he like meeting with him. “She gets her info from FOX” She had not seen any photo of the two of them together at that time. Just chose to believe the negativity she heard on FOX. After I told her what I thought of her opinion and her brand of Christianity, she did not speak to me for over two months. “P.S. its hard not to speak to me in real life cuz I’m a chatty Cathy and always smiling and laughing” Finally she broke down and started talking & laughing with me again, but never mentions President Obama! Haha..Thanks for all your work with this Chips. It was such fun and I have enjoyed everyone’s favorite memories too. Hope you all have a safe, loving, peaceful, harmonious, & Amazingly Blessed New Years filled with the Joy Of Happiness!
I’m bringing this over from the ‘Tiara’ post, because by the time I posted it Chips had finished dusting her house and moved on to second place. I love the winning pic, but the tiara one really speaks to me. It’s certainly not the most historic, but it says so much to me about the man PBO is, and how wonderfully comfortable he is in his own skin. Even the background says volumes about him, because it’s the White House Science Fair, which he loves and fosters; they’re girls, and he has been so supportive of women’s issues; they’re so easy with him, and he with them. And I’m completely enchanted that the girls love both their science and their tiaras.
This has been so much fun! Thanks again, Chips and Nerdy, for this wonderful place. You are truly marvels. And thanks to VC for this great idea.

I think I voted either for the WWII vet kissing PBO’s hand or the Filipina nurse kissing his hand…..sense a theme here? However, the top picture is fine with me. All these pictures show different aspects of the President’s character. Each one shows a different facet, and that is what is so beautiful about him: he is many dimensional, not cardboard or a façade.
I said sometime this week that I believe PBO and Pope Francis are not here accidentally together in our world. Their confluence is not random, and this picture shows that very well.
