2014: More Most Memorable Moments

****

by Prettyfoot

There were so many outstanding moments in 2014.. it is very hard to choose…. but here are my top moments…

The President hosting the Young African Leaders summit town hall

****

My Brother’s Keeper town hall

****

Between Two Ferns

****

 Post midterm elections press conference

****

by Marlz

Here are my top four memorable moments:

1 Can’t deny…the unforgettable WH Presser this month!

****

2 The President with Colbert

****

3 The conversation with the President and Malia at the book store on Chuck Todd’s book

****

4 The President’s trip to Stonehenge

****

by Mellesia Barnett

1. Orange is the New Black zinger at WHCD

****

2. Ending Embargo on Cuba after five decades

****

3. Action taken to resolve immigration issues

****

4. The acceleration of the US economy (thanks to the Pres)

****

5. The First Family at Christmas in Washington event (such a lovely family)

****

by Vetivera

1. Jan 2014 – The State of the Union. Love the pomp and ceremony of it. His entrance always feels like a big ‘love in’.

****

2. Jan 2014 – As the mother of sons I am all for the My Brother’s Keeper Initiative. That presentation warmed my heart.

****

3. Feb – The OFA dinner. Loved what he said to his followers, thanking them for helping him to become the President

****

4. Mar 18, 2014 – The Medal of Honor Ceremony.

****

5. April 10, 2014 – His speech at the LBJ Library gave me a deeper appreciation of the Civil rights movement and LBJ’s part in it – and removed a resentment for years against LBJ because of the assassination of JFK.

****

6. May 27, 2014 – Love to see PBO at the Science Fair. He’s like a kid again.

****

7. July 18, 2014 – Likewise I loved his comments at the Kid’s state dinner. Anytime he and Michelle are together is always sweet or fun.

****

8.Sept 19,2014 – His speech to the DNC forum should have been a forerunner to his last presser. He walks his talk.

****

9. June 23, 2014 – Loved his speech to the White House Summit on working Families.

****

10. July 31, 2014 The kiss from Tim Harris ‘I love you Obama”. Honesty – no filters, beautiful

****

Honorable mention: Impromptu concert of Four Tops and Temps at the White House.

      You are most welcome Chips.

Thank YOU for giving us this opportunity to outline SOME of our President’s achievements and events.
From these “memorable moments” it is so plain to see the love this President, his family and administration have for all American, but most importantly, it shows how difficult the work is and how hard this President is working for ALL!

I have enjoyed all the moments and these are just midgets of the enormous work that the Presidents does…can you imagine behind the scenes?!?!?

Love this “Memorable Moments” collection from PF58, Marlz, Melleisa and Vet24 🙂

Perfect – and brings back so many great memories. I don’t think that we will encounter another President like this in a hurry so we are right to savor these memorable moments as much as we can!

As I view our Memorable Moments, I have come to the realization that we are more alike than we are different! Thank you so much, Almab, Prettyfoot, Marlz and Mellesia for sharing your Moments with us 🙂 I look forward to seeing what we each contribute to this wonderful opportunity. And of course, thank you Chips for giving us this platform!

Oh, any idea how far behind I might be at this stage of the evening?? Someone (clever) (not so clever) decided she had to go vacuum and wash the car this morning, then filled the tank ($2.77/US gal), then came back and detailed said automobile…. same someone can barely move her aching body this evening! So, sup?? 🙂 ❤ 🐻 😉

Gotta go to sleep if I want to be awake for the East Coast New Year entrance, zzzzzz

  9. December 31, 2014 at 10:43 pm

It wouldn’t be New Year’s without Knoller tweeting some crap about PBO’s golf…

  10. December 31, 2014 at 10:49 pm

Ok, I think I ate my Chinese too fast. Feel meh. Might be back later, but if not, feliz año nuevo!

  11. December 31, 2014 at 10:50 pm

Here is something I have been thinking for along time, if FLOTUS doesn’t mind POTUS playing golf, why does it seem to bother others like Mark Knoller.

    • December 31, 2014 at 10:56 pm

It seem Knoller is not happy unless he tells us that POTUS is playing golf, how much he is playing golf, with whom he is playing golf, etc., etc., etc. 214 times since taking office, well Knoller he has two more years, I’m sure you will let us know about those two years.

Night desertflower and a Happy and Wonderful New Year to you. Rest up and stay warm. It is a little chill on the place here, but still lovely today.

I am trying to do a few chores before the New Year rings us in on the west coast. To my beautiful TOD family all over, have a glorious, peaceful, and just plain old fun New Year. We will take each day with a beautiful smile of gratefulness and make the best out of each moment in each day.

Still keeping our wonderful and brilliant President’s back!!! I love my Chips and my TOD family.HZ

Delurking to say HAPPY NEW YEAR to our beloved Chips, Nerdy, all other TOD BTs, regular TOD commenters and occasional lurker commenters like me. Thank you hopefruit for always greeting us lurkers when you “enter the room”. All of you have made every day of 2014 a most informed, tolerable, awesome year. Don’t know what I’d do if I couldn’t come to TOD for truth, news, information, and like-minded support of PBO.
I have thoroughly enjoyed all of the 2014 Most Memorable Moments posts and voting for the pic of the month & year. I voted, but if mine doesn’t win, I will still be happy because they are all winners in my mind.
Once more, HAPPY NEW YEAR to ALL! Can’t wait to see what PBO has in store for the next year of his “lame duck presidency”. HA! 🙂

All caught up, whew. Y’all are a most amazing mob of amazing people. I have no doubt at all PBO and the WH know exactly what is what with this blog. I am unwinding, all chores done, have a glass of Syrah beside my rocking chair, and listening to the occasional fire crackers, while waiting for midnight. Kitty does NOT like fire crackers, thank. you. very. much. Happy New Year, indeed!! _^..^_ 😦

Happy NEW YEAR! Party was a smashing success; however, been in the hospital since Monday night — allergy induced asthma with a side of pneumonia. Recovering well and I am blessed.

Some of my family members “forget” and still wear perfumes or come bearing gifts from their dogs, cats, horses, etc…

Funny thing is, the folks that are trying to kill me aren’t even in the “will” LOL.

I’m Blessed by the best; and TOD has certainly been a Blessing to me. Love you all. Happy New year.

This is funny. I’ve been crawling down the thread and adding my messages, arriving at this spot just as the # 1 was showing. Only then did it click that it was actually already January 1st.

Dear PrettyFoot, Marlz, Mellissa Barnett, Vetivera

Thank you for sharing your respective “Memorable Moments” – it is so fulfilling to scroll to each selection and reminisce. President Obama fills our lives with so much good.

Thank you Chips for assembling the post.

Happy New Year TOD and I’ll leave you with a very special recording of Beethoven’s 9th both because of what it commemorates and because we often attend a performance on New Year’s Eve or Day though not this year ….

    Good night TOD

Happy New Year TODers from California and Pacific Standard Time!

Thank you for helping to make 2014 memorable! Thank you to Prettyfoot, Marlz, Melissa B and Vetivera for highlighting these memorable moments (still need to check out VCs – looking forward to it)!

Thank you Chips (and Danny) for being our anchor. Thank you to Nerdy for all of your hard work informing us. Thank you to LL and other contributors.

I watched Kathy Griffin and Anderson C tonight (the only time all year I have turned on CNN). They showed New Year’s celebrations around the world and one of the spots featured was Havana, Cuba! This made my heart glad. Thank you President Obama for helping to transform this world!

So looking forward to the coming year 2015, now that PBO is in full superhero mode. And I’m especially looking forward to sharing it with all of you fellow TODers!

An early Happy New Year to our Hawaii TODers and to the President and his family, who will be ringing in 2015 in a couple of hours!

  36. January 1, 2015 at 3:39 am

    Happy New Year TOD!
Thank you, Ms. Chips and everyone here.
Just getting in( this is NYC) so the party is just really getting started.
I have to be up early so I need to rest a bit.
I will enjoy the last chocolates as I enjoy Mr. Bobfr’s video Beethoven no.9.
What a momentus, marvelous, memorable, remarkable year!
POB’s presidency ushered in the east winds of our lives.
As we approach the final year of this remarkable legacy he will leave for us the west winds are quickly upon us.
I am expecting so much more wonderful, jaw dropping amazing things to happen this year that it will absolutely blow our beautiful minds!
The answer my friends are blowing in the wind………
