How can we form a memory
Of just one single day
When our lives in Obama’s time
Are enriched in every way.
The universe wakes up each morning
Looking for our President’s plan
And, lo, we’re never disappointed!
What.A.Man.
President Obama is his “brother’s keeper”
And he spotlights women at the mic
He calms down babies in a warm embrace
(Let’s face it) Everything he does, we like!
He leaps tall stock markets in a single bound
He’ll even work with Cuba and the Pope!
We’re in awe when he dazzles us with another act
So this is what he meant by Change and Hope!
Our precious First Lady
In all her grandeur and appeal
I think we’d agree is best described
In just one word: R-E-A-L.
The Obama daughters and their grandma
Are family members, also, to us all
Love all their winning ways and charm
And aren’t Malia and Sasha getting tall!
“They” call us Obots or Obamadons
Or what “they” think is a slur
I’d rather be on this side of history
Than live inside the right-wing blur.
One memorable yearly moment, Chips?
I.Think.Not.
Make that 365 days of APPRECIATION
From THIS Obamabot.
Happy 2015! Can’t Wait!
GN folks
Following very soon.
Not together I hope???? 😯
Should have known your mind would paint that picture. But I forgive you. And to answer your question, yes we had a wonderful Christmas. If yours was 1/2 as nice then I know you had a great one as well.
Was hoping to slip that one by you – which is why I didn’t say ‘Wait for me!’ 😀
And on Christmas Day too. You’re a disgrace.
‘To thine own self be true’….especially on Christmas Day!
Congrats John!!! Hope you and your family have enjoyed a delightful Christmas celebration.
Dear Jacqueline!!!

PERFECTION!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
#FORWARD Together
Can’t wait to read this JO’B, but am so sleepy my eyes are closing! Will check it out tomorrow when my vision is clearer.
Good Night, TODobots – I hope to be more coherent tomorrow!
GN vc
GN & TY – am so tired, am punchy,
Go to sleep before you decide to punch me! 😀
Alright – catch you tomorrow if the lord allows.
There’s the dust of me actually leaving for now.
k, cuz I want to hear how your sleepover went. Pleasant dreams vc
I think we all want to know how her “sleepover” went! 🙂
I know!
How dare she pop in here and then leave without uttering one word on the subject! This means I will have to wake up with you East Coast folks to read how it went. If I wake up on my “weekend” time, you all will be working on the Noon post and I’ll be three threads behind!
I’m the type person who wakes up after the west coat people!
Then we’ll read it together!
No idea what “west coat” people means, but I stand by it. 🙂
Hahaha, I was gonna let the west coat slide LOL
I knew you had, and laughed! If I knew how to post one of those blushing-face emoticons, I would!
That’s what I love about us in the Village, we know how to laugh at ourselves and with one another ❤
😳
: oops : all squished together, but looks more sad than sheepish, imo. 🙂 ❤ I know, I know, I'm way back on last night's thread… but I am NOT lost, ok?? ❤
Thank you Bardess of TOD, this is delightful!!!!
I actually read “Bard-ass” in my head – you are too funny. Thanks so much for including it, Chips. Happy Christmas Night! Love the snow. Love all y’all (which my third granddaughter, when she was in kindergarten, said her teacher in Florida taught them was “plural for y’all”).
J’OB, you have a way with words that are so visual and powerful -thanks for sharing your gift with us.
Awww, very sweet of you to say that. Thanks!
JOB, this poem was just a delight and all I could do was say, Amen. Thank you for capturing what we all feel. In my area of PA, natives say ‘youse’ when they mean plural ‘you” and that includes a lot of professionals.
I lived in NJ for most of my life, so I know where “youse” are coming from! 🙂
‘Youse’ comes from The Mob.
JOB, our own TOD poet laureate! Thank you so much for your magical words that truly captures the way we here at TOD feel about our President. I hope you and your family had a fabulous Christmas. May you continue to be blessed in the the coming years!
And I have the same hope for you, nath! And thanks for your nice comment.
P.S. Happy New Year! Won’t be long now!
Thx bt.
My present to ya.
JacquelineO’B, thank you for sharing your poetry with us.
Fun to have it here! Thanks.
WoooHooo, I come back to see Snow falling and poetic J’OB at the mic 🙂 How so very lovely! Thanks J’OB, 365, 24/7 PBO and family!
Happpppppppppppppy Christmas GGail!!
Happy GOOOOOOAL Christmas to you too my dear Chips! I hope you had a pleasant day today? Didn’t I hear you hiccup a minute ago???!!! What you been drinking?
I am decidedly mlerry GGail, it’s been a highly excellent day 🙂 How are you doing?
Confused – see my comment below 😯 And I’m sober
Love the snow Chips! Thanks. Hope you had a fabulous Christmas!
excellent job, JOB.
Thanks, sir!
I hope everyone is enjoying or have already enjoyed a wonderful Christmas. I just got home and the first thing I did was come here to the Obama Diary. Reading “memorable moments” is a total joy. Love you all!!!
Love ya back Sabreen, happy Christmas!
I have a confession of confusion – can I share it with my few close friends…We in America say *Merry* Christmas, *Happy* New Year, so when some of y’all say *Happy* Christmas, I get confused and wonder if I’m supposed to say and *Merry* New Year to you all???
Yes, GGail. You are “supposed” to say exactly the opposite of what everyone here is saying.
Ha! Hope you are having a great, merry, happy Christmas Night, merrily and happily!
Ok, so now are you trying to toss me back to 2012 J’OB??? 😀 😀
Word has it you tossed yourself back to 2012 … but I’m on “your side,” so I wouldn’t know! 🙂
Hold on….let me eat a piece of Lindor chocolate to clear my head before I respond to this comment…who’s side are you on???? 🙂
Ask the chocolate – it seems to be the one with the answers! 🙂
P.S. Your side.
Me thinks you and Chips are laughing even tho I righted myself in record time 😀
I’m not fussy about this GGail, except to say that when I rule the world it’ll be ‘Happy’ Christmas only. 🙂
No, No, No! As your second in command, it will become Goooooooooooooal Christmas 😀
😆 Now, I LOVE that!!!!!
GGail, I try to phrase holiday wishes with “have a terrific (wonderful, great) Christmas and new year, so I avoid the merry and happy. “Merry’ Christmas seems a little old English to me, like a Dickens greeting.
Jackieg, you would REALLY confuse me! How do you expect people to reply? Merry terrific, great, wonderful Christmas to you too?
Oyi, I need another piece of chocolate… 😀
GGail, what everyone says back is, “Thanks, same to you.” Problem solved.
Ha, they become perplexed too! 🙂
Good evening, TOD! JO’B, OUTSTANDING! You put into words what I feel in my heart! We are so Blessed to have President Obama leading our country, and the First Family is the icing on our cake! THANK YOU!
Thanks, and I hope you had a great Christmas!
Lovely poem, JOB!
Merry Christmas Chips! Merry Christmas TOD! Merry Christmas TOD Family! I have sooooo much reading to catch up on — about a week’s worth of posts — and a long weekend to do it. I’m going to enjoy this year-end retrospective immensely and reflect on the happenings of 2014, and try to catch my breath to prepare for 2015.
Be blessed, everyone. ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥
❤
Love your post Mrs. O’Boomer.
❤
Jacqueline—what a fun poem. “let’s face it, everything he does, we like”
truer words were never spoken
If you had told me years ago I’d be oohing and aaahing over a grown man in a tiara I would not have believed it. My New Years wish will be that thousands or millions of people who haven’t appreciated our great President will see PBO just for a little while, if not forever, the way TOD sees our POTUS.
You’ve never seen a man in a tiara before? Ha. Thanks, Vicki.
A still photo from this event:
Nice!
Ok, I’m sharing this then turning off the computer, my five minut break has lasted an hour…
JOB that was an excellent poem – loved it. Hope all had the Merriest of Christmases. I had a lovely time with my family but now I’m home and-
zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz
(Nite TOD)
Thanks – and I already had one nap (zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz) and am thinking about going back to bed. Exhausting but fun, right?
JOB your poems are so top notch. They are so full of meaning for us all.
I so agree. I absolutely love reading JOB’s poems.
You guys are adorable. 🙂
Jacquelineoboomer, your words always catch my attention in a most touching manner. You have such a command of your expressiveness that makes me appreciate your subjects. Thank you for this wonderful poem that shines such wonderful, and beautiful truths. You are so gifted with your words, and I it is an honor to be in this family because of members like you, J’OB.
I hope that your celebrations today were lovely as well. {{{{{{{{ Loving hugs to our J’OB}}}}}}} Thank you, my love. HZ
HZ – Thank you. And we had a wonderful, exhausting day here, just as it should be! Loving hugs to you, my lovely and “feisty” friend HZ!
“I’d rather be on this side of history Than live inside the rightwing blur.” How true……and we know we are on the right side of history.
Thank you JoBfor this poem which captures our feelings so well. Beautifully and truthfully said.
🙂
I loved the poem! I did quite a bit of poetry but never about politics. Inspired me t give it a try some time.
Go for it! Haven’t you posted a poem or two on TOD in the past, if I’m recalling correctly?
JO’B — beautiful, yet light-hearted, one might even say “merry” 😉 poem.
Thanks for penning it, and sharing it with Chips and TODville!
Glad we have a poet laureate, and especially glad it’s YOU.
On another note, another tweet about “Selma.”
John Lewis has seen it twice, and cried both times. The actors and costume design sound unbelievable. Ava DuVernay sounds like this generation’s Steven Spielberg, but with more range — to have assembled and crafted this work of art, with the huge cast of talented actors is nothing short of amazing (see previous thread for other tweets about “Selma,” including a video of Ms. DuVernay meeting Roger Ebert when she was 8 years old.
You are a (merry little) sweetheart. Thank you!
Wow!
JO’B! How very delightful! Have been having down time with a kitty in my lap, computer and phone in the other room. Sorting through lots of thoughts, tossing out the old, stale ones, and enjoying Christmas 2014! TOD, my life is a fare more well-informed and richer place for being part of your unique flavor! Thank you for having me.. I’m sorry I missed VC’s drive-by, but as she didn’t say much, I suppose I’ll wait (all night) for the outcome! I’m passing through as well, wanted to give big Christmas {{{{{ ❤ TOD ❤ }}}}} hugs all the way 'round!! 🐻 😉
Big Christmas hugs to you, MightyPamela! Your high spirits always make me smile. ❤
LOL! High ~ for sure. Spirits ~ for sure, as well! Sometimes I think I use too many words… bless you, dear JO’B! 🙂
aloha todville!
since all the news we got here about the first family’s holiday came from msm sources, i knew you’d be way ahead of me. hours and hours ahead 🙂
but i hope it’s not too late to say mele kalikimaka to each and every tod regular, tyrant, visitor, and follower. chips chica, happy christmas to you and all your dear ones who share you with us every day.
we can all look forward with glee to the new year of president obama’s amazing leadership, and all the ways his long-game unfolds to benefit all.
blessings and gratitude,
susanne
Merry Christmas TOD.
I hope everyone had a good one.
I had to work, but afterwards, I brought Maddie her gift and I took Maddie and her crew (my lil girl cousins) to see Annie. They all said they loved it. Maddie gave Annie an A+. I liked it but other than Jamie Foxx, nobody really sounded good. Me and my cousin, both agreed they should have just dubbed the voices. Still I liked it and the actors other than Cameron Diaz were good. And honestly, I could have taken the movie even with Cameron Diaz, but the sing really wasn’t up to what you’d expect from the Annie musical.
Still, the appropriate age group loved it, good singing or not!
I don’t understand making movie musicals with actors who can’t sing. Glad the younger set enjoyed it
Is it me, or does the TODville snow now look like hail?
(It was snowing at an angle earlier, now it’s just plopping straight down, LOL).
Natalie Cole and others are in A Joyful Christmas concert on now.
Thanks JO’B for such a beautiful memorable moments poem! 🙂
Hi – and thank you.
I hope all my TOD family had a peaceful Christmas, full of love.
There is the Christmas Story. The Christmas Wish. There is the Christmas Flu from Hell starring the 57 household. Almost ended up in ER with pneumonia but got meds from the doctor just in time. Mr. 57 had it first, got better but seems to have relapsed as we take turns taking care of each other. Christmas is Saturday, right?
{{{{{ 57 & Mr 57 }}}}}
Yes, that’s right. Christmas is Saturday! Get better, honey bunch.
I hope you and Mr. 57 feel better soon. I will keep you both in my thoughts and prayers for a quick recovery.
Oh, 57, so hope you and Mr 57 will be well soon and can have a delightful celebration over the weekend!!! Take care and will keep both of you in my thoughts.
Goodnight, now. For those who celebrate Kwanzaa, tomorrow will be a wonderful day! ❤
Happy Kwanza!
Thank you MP, I am looking for a wonderful day with friends and family.
Good night TOD!
PEACE.
Happy Kwanza to you and your family, LDS!!!!
TY Mr. Bobfr.
I am so tried but I was determined to go back and read everything that I missed.
Your tweets, of course, energized me as usual. So glad that you posted the picture below again.
So touching. So fitting to end a peaceful day. So much hope and love depicted there it makes you cry.
I am so glad that everyone shared and had a beautiful day with their families celebrating,
Merry Christmas to all…….and to all a good night!
Sweet sleep.
I pray for peace in the hearts, minds and souls of those who do not value the beautiful gift of life.
It is truly and honor to love and be loved.
“I pray for peace in the hearts, minds and souls of those who do not value the beautiful gift of life.”
I share in your prayer, LDS. Thank you!
Rest well, MP!!!
Goodnight, TODville. The good thing about being this exhausted from all the fun and frolic is that I’ll be asleep the minute my head hits the pillow. Also just like other nights, but, hey. 🙂
Wishing you a blissful rest, Jacqueline!
I had a great rest, Bob, and hope you did as well!
Posted this in an earlier thread but wanted it to be my “Good night TOD” on Christmas message ….
#TrustBarack …. And Love him and his magnificent wife, forever ……..
I received this message loud and clear!
Thank you, again.
Now, good night ….
JaquelineOboomer thank you so much for this lovely poem! I’m also proud to call myself an Obot, in fact, I would say I’m a “ride-or-die” Obot! PBO has earned it, in my opinion!
Coming in late. Just got home from a lovely Christmas gathering. Took off my make-up, got into my PJs and I’m about to snuggle up on the couch with my kitties and watch the 1951 Alistair Sim version of A Christmas Carol (the best one, in my opinion).
Hoping all TODers had a wonderful, magical day and have a warm and wonderful night!
I am coming here late! I hope all TOD members had a wonderful Christmas.
Moooooooorning!!
