Early Bird Rise and Shine

On This Day: President Barack Obama plays with Bo, the Obama family dog, aboard Air Force One during a flight to Hawaii, Dec. 23, 2011 (Photo by Pete Souza)

Today is the day …. when I do my Christmas shopping. Which is one day earlier than most recent years, so: 😎

But first, 26 cups of coffee.

MoooOOOooorning everyone!

    Good Tuesday, Chipsticks…TOD Family!!!

In TOD Village, I find a spirit of warmth, comfort, and joy — the feeling of love and friendship — not just during the Christmas season but throughout the year.

    Everyone have a joyous day!!!

Good morning Ms. Chips, Danny and TOD family, I hope all is well with everyone this lovely Tuesday morning. Congrats swb, on being first this morning. To all, I hope you have a super-fantastic day today.

Thank God that President Obama is still the President of The United States of America.

Good morning TOD. Christmas wishes and blessings to all. Food pantry day today–guessing we will have MANY today. After I finish there, I’ll go across the street to the Main Campus of our church and drop off 27 dozen cookies/candy for volunteers to pack for delivery tomorrow morning. When I get the report of how many dozen cookies we deliver, I will report that to you.

Morning ALL. Chips, good luck today. It’s hard out there for late shoppers. Many stores have a picked over look and there seems to be a desperate attempt to get rid of what’s left with deep discounts–so maybe you’ll get lucky and pay 75 percent less than the rest of us did. The big focus of the craziness now is the grocery stores which have packed parking lots and long lines. Have to wonder why we do this to each other every year when we could all just chill out, eat less and have a better time. Missed you all yesterday, but we made my MIL very happy.

Good morning, TOD. The sad hits keep coming. A life-long friend and someone I briefly date (we discovered we were definitely better friends) passed yesterday. He was “good people” and I’ll miss him.

On the party front, I’m grateful for the help I’m receiving. The Chinese food is ordered; Last night, a friend DM’d that she had forgotten to RSVP her “regrets;” I then remembered she was a manager at Barnes & Noble — a store that I had planned to visit yesterday, but didn’t because of traffic. Bottom line, I just called in my order for 50 gift cards, and she’ll deliver them on her way home from work (she lives 4 streets over).

Have a Blessed day, TOD Family!

Ah Alycee, so sorry about your friend, and what a doubly sad time of year for it to happen. May he rest in peace.

Alycee, my deep condolences on the loss of a dear friend. You’ve had far too many losses this year, but you are still going strong. Hope your party goes well and you can enjoy the comfort of friends and family.

I’m very sorry for your loss {{{{{ Alycee }}} You’ve been hit with a couple of tsumanis worth of sadness recently. I hope you can find some comfort in the arms of loved ones around you this holiday season. Be well, dear.

      Very sad news indeed, Alycee.

Devastating to lose a dear friend.

So many sad events this December — Meta’s brother’s passing, Roberta’s girls-best-friend Megan gone too.

Sincere condolences to your family and his.

Good luck with your Christmas shopping, Chips. Now you’ll need energy for wrapping them all, so don’t know if 26 cups of coffee will be enough. πŸ˜‰

This is why the echo-chamber DC MSM are parroting one another about “defiant” President Obama.

Anyone who has a car or knows someone with a car cannot believe how low gas prices are now.

    And on another note:

Oh Arapaho, the media show their asses every time. You can set your watch to when the whines, criticisms and snark against our President will start after good news happens.

Morning everyone! It’s Tuesday? My days are all messed up now because I’m on break and have not a care on the world:) (kidding!) Chips, I see absolutely NO PROBLEM with you starting your shopping today! I just about finished mine, but I didn’t start until this weekend…just tying up some loose ends now….I hate to shop, so this late shopping procrastination thingy works just fine for me. I work 7days/wk..so to fit something ELSE in…really sucks. I think about what I want to buy for each person, know where I need to go to get it, I dash in, dash out. BAM! Done! No lallygagging for me:) Works like a charm. Good luck today. I say make a game out of it…..and remember, when you stop, you fall down. Just keep pushing past the tired:) Have Fun!

    • December 23, 2014 at 8:49 am

      “I just about finished mine”

Grr. But okay then, mooooooooorning DF!!

You sound very organized, though, you might leave it late-ish, but you know what you’re looking for. Us normal people don’t forward-plan so end up buying, say, aftershave for our Grannies.

You’ll know the perfect gift when you see it:) Just remember, if you’re not feeling it in that store, leave. Have another cup of coffee and at least think of a plan before you go on your adventure…..aftershave for Grannies…I HAVE no more Grannies….

  17. December 23, 2014 at 9:00 am

Good morning, good people of TOD. Sending everyone lots of warm wishes for a beautiful holiday. xoxo

Chips, I’m just now handing you yet another cup of steaming hot coffee. Good luck on your shopping spree!

I know it’s too early for LL, but he and I seem to disagree about SoCal weather.

It was a shock to walk outside this morning because it’s exactly the same temp outside as inside — 69F. It’s gonna be a nice day, not a scorcher (forecast high is 74F).

Our usual Dec lows are in the low 40s — 69F as a low is high for a summer morning.

But of course, there’s no such thing as climate change.

Purposeful and dangerous. Fox should be sued by the FCC and held accountable.

You’re right, Df. This is deliberate mischief, purposely designed to cause trouble and injury to people. Fox must be sued by multiple groups, including this woman and her family, organized protest organizations AND the FCC. Make them pay through the nose. This cannot stand.

1st world problems – I have a printer that sometime between 12 midnight and 1am decides to self-clean itself. I just fell out of my chair thinking a possum was coming through the ceiling & it was this stupid printer self imploding – I pulled the power cord – taught that thing a lesson!

Good Morning Chips, Danny, & TOD family! Thanks for the lovely Christmas season greetings swbluega. Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays to everyone. I am happy to be back here after a few days absence. The Dr did an X ray last week and said I had a touch of Pneumonia with that Virus, flu or whatever it was. That is most likely why I could not seem to get well or get my energy level back up. After some antibiotics I feel like a new woman ;-))) I have guest here since yesterday also a large thunderstorm brewing here in Ga. Probably a tornado but hopefully everything will be fine. As long as we have Barack Obama for our leader everything will work out just great!! I really appreciate the work Chops, Nerdy and so many of you putting out this Obama Diary each and everyday. I try to always read them and save them all in a folder. Some I haven’t read yet I will get to later. So again thanks Happy Holidays and Merry Christmas πŸ˜‰

Glad you’re feeling better. Just in time for the thunderstorm. [Ugh!] Careful if you have to go out into it.
