Good day, all! I’ve got a lot of catching up to do!

    Whoa!

I opened TOD, expecting to catch up on today’s R&S, but instead saw that Chips had posted my 2014 memorable moments (!!!).

    What a wonderful Christmas present!

Humble and grateful to Chips and all of TODville for your kind responses. Thank you, everyone!

If you get a chance, please do bookmark or favorite the MTV video for viewing when demands on your time are less pressing. You’ll be glad you viewed the amazing Native American youth who now have a network to organize change and improve their communities, thanks to the greatest American President ever.

This video should be required viewing by all US students graduating from grade school — the N.E.R.D.S. (Native Education Raising Dedicated Students) a peer-to-peer mentoring and tutoring program was a genius idea that was implemented by a then-8th grader in Jackson CA. The video highlights that the Native American community suffers the highest suicide rate and lowest college enrollment of any group in the US.

Thank you, TODville. Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year to you and all your loved ones.

Hey arapaho – you did a marvelous job – of course, we didn’t expect anything less from you 🙂
Thank you for the wonderful memories {{{hugs}}} Merry Christmas!

What kind words, thank you, GGail!

Can you believe our weather? Everyone is dressed like it’s July, not December.

Groused this morning here that it was the same temp inside and outside early this morning (69F) — way too warm for December (the average low temp for my zip code in Dec is in the low 40s).

I slept last night on top of the covers, it was that warm in Monrovia. And I imagine it’s pretty warm outside now here in Pasadena. Well get a few raindrops on Christmas Day.

          I’m enjoying it all 🙂

LOVE this video. Thanks so much for bringing it to us, arapaho. I’ve been sending it to people I know who work in CA govt and non-profits. It’s just so moving and gorgeous. No wonder PBO is exalting each of these remarkable young leaders.

The best part of the article…
‘The move “stems from what we view as a rapid deterioration of Russia’s monetary flexibility and the impact of the weakening economy on its financial system,” S&P said. Oil prices at a five-year low and sanctions over the conflict in Ukraine have pushed the world’s biggest energy exporter to the verge of recession. The central bank in Moscow has spent one-fifth of its international reserves and increased benchmark interest rates six times since March, when Russia came under international sanctions after it invaded Crimea.’

This is the kind of pushback the MSM and the abominable Patrick Lynch of the NYPD union, Gov Pataki, Mayor Giuliani need to receive.

Was hoping TOD could hit 28 million on New Year’s Eve and start the new year with a bang. Looks doubtful, probably closer to 27,950,000 at this point. Still a remarkable achievement. It is obvious that the results of the election have not kept people away. Do miss a couple that I haven’t seen for awhile and hope they show up again.

Well, looks like we will have a white Christmas after all. Now calling for 3-6 inches tomorrow, which, even at the low mark will be more than we have had combined up to now. Then 40’s on Friday which means most will be gone.

I missed what happened, but don’t need to know. Just sorry that you are experiencing such sadness and surrounding you with big virtual hugs {{{{{ Meta}}}}}. You bring joy to our family gatherings whenever we try your delectable recipes. My 22 yr old nephew/budding chef and I made your honey shortbread over the Turkey holidays which quickly disappeared as soon as we got it out of the pan. Know that your TOD family is ever here in support of you. HUGS!

Well, so far today, I’ve listened to The Temptations doing Little Drummer Boy, Otis Redding’s I’ve Been Loving You Too Long, an operatic version of Ave Maria from Bill R, and Nothing Compares to You from Sinéad O’Connor.

And dusting and vacuuming. And eating yogurt-covered pretzels.

    Ah, Christmas!

If it doesn’t work – it’s a contest for a trip to Ireland!!!

I agree with my POTUS. While I have no interest of seeing any movie about KIM JUNG NUT, I agree with the decision to let those that find interest in that sort of things rush and pay to see it.

New York (AFP) – Five Americans have been charged in connection with a plot to sell 153 guns and traffick them into New York in carry-on bags on 17 commercial flights, prosecutors said Tuesday.

The devastating lapse of airline security put hundreds of travelers at risk and was allegedly aided by a Delta Airlines agent in Atlanta, who carried the weapons past security checks.

Former Delta employee Mark Henry, 45, carried bags full of guns and ammunition on 17 flights from Atlanta to New York from May to December, said the Brooklyn district attorney’s office.

Back in the late 70’s-early 80’s Hartsfield was the pick up location for pounds of weed.

      Flight attendants were the carriers.

    • December 23, 2014 at 6:41 pm

I was watching that on the news, NCLB. Scary. Obviously, there is a need to change the security procedures as it relates to employees.
