Stupid work computer!!! Guess I should actually be doing some work. I just wanted to tell DonnaDem that I’m so sorry you missed the White House Party. I remember you saying you wanted to see the decorations up close. Just know you have two more chances under PBO’s administration!!

I’m an avid lurker. I laugh with you all, I cry with you all, I get upset with you all, but most of all I love and respect PBO with you all. Chips, NW, and all BTs, thanks so much for making this the most informative, warm and inviting place on the internet. To all the regulars, thanks so much for all your lively banter. It puts a smile on my face constantly!!

I want to wish my First Family a HAPPY and RELAXING Holidays!! And I wish all of you, my TOD family, a HAPPY Holidays!!

Big city Police Dept should all have a “Serpico” in place. For there are obviously some cops on the job that don’t belong.

Instead protecting the bad cops, they should be weeded out!
Not everyone who wants to be a cop should be one. That goes for any job that involves serving the public and requires a special level of trust. —Cops, judges, heathcare professionals, clergy, etc.

Ex-Milwaukee Police Officer Not Charged in Fatal Shooting

A former Milwaukee police officer who shot a man 14 times after being struck by a baton in a scuffle in April won’t be charged because the fatal shooting was justified, said John Chisholm, district attorney for Milwaukee County.

He is only an ex cop because he was fired after the incident.

Jon Huntsman’s Father: Sen. Lee ‘An Embarrassment To Utah’

Huntsman called Lee “an extremist” for his involvement in the shutdown fight which the philanthropist said sucked millions in federal dollars from his cancer research institute and also affected national parks.

“He’s been a tremendous embarrassment to our family, to our state, to our country, to have him as a U.S. senator,” Huntsman said.

“He’s tried to come in and see me several times,” Huntsman said. “I have no interest whatsoever in chatting with him.”

Asked if he had a response, Lee just said “I don’t.”

    GA TODville,

The reports I heard on CBS radio (both network and LA local) about possible US response to North Korea Sony hack were very weak sauce (i.e., tunnel vision) — even someone like me who is all thumbs when it comes to techie stuff knew that they were lame analyses.

I see the weather is going to be in the 70’s with periods of rain through Wed. than 80’s and clear on Xmas day, then off and on rain. Still better than 40’s and rain in Chicago.

df, I just read that too and it even said that he might try to remain in the House if he’s given probation instead of the 3 years jail time.

What is wrong with these people thinking they are above the law. He had millions hidden in the restaurant profit plus had undocumented people working in the restaurant.

      White privilege anyone?

Yes, JER. I watched this presser and I think BdB was masterful. Not going to take the media shit and really why should he?

      • December 22, 2014 at 5:08 pm

        Vicki, I agree with you.
Why the hell should he? He has a son who is an endangered species.
A racist president of the PBA who has been there way too long.
I am so glad he is holding the media responsible for this division as well.
Thank God the Ramos family welcomed our Mayor to the services. That was not the PBA’s president call anyway.
As I said last night I sincerely hope the “good guys” start to speak out whatever race they are.
And I sure hope the AA, Latino and Asian cops are not turning that backs on this Mayor. Hopefully, this woo be the breaking point for them to speak out. It is a know fact that the PBA does not really support them as they do the white cops.

I don’t like it when stories are strung together like what AP wrote. 1) Yes, NK internet is out. 2) Yes Sony was hacked. The connection between the two has not been confirmed – and yet, here they go leading small minded people to connect unconfirmed dots.

      It infuriates me. Grrrr!

I wish someone would take down TeaNN…..

Their over the top rhetoric on the Sony hack and what is going on in NYC makes both things worse, IMO

    • December 22, 2014 at 5:19 pm

      Too much power!
They are privileged racist cowards and the same for the court officers.
They should be investigated and the ” good ones” should speak up now!
This “blood on your hands” quote is very disturbing to me. What does this mean?
Are they going to turn their backs on the community they are paid to protect? It speaks volume of who this Lynch guy really is…

Mr. Bobfr, if you are around can you please create a tweet for the ” good men and women” who have a conscious to speak up and not be bullied by the PBA. If anyone can , you can.

A veteran Dallas police officer allegedly sexually assaulted a woman, forcing her to perform sex acts while he was driving a marked police car and in uniform, the Dallas Morning News reported on Sunday.

The officer, David Kattner, reportedly called the woman and forced her to perform a sex act while keeping one hand on his service weapon, according to an arrest warrant affidavit obtained by the Morning News.

Kattner and the woman were reportedly seen on Sunday morning by detectives in the area who interviewed the woman. She told the detectives that Kattner had also assaulted her two other times after threatening her with outstanding warrants and saying he knew where her daughter lived, the Morning News reported.

Kattner, a 26-year veteran of the Dallas Police Department, was being held in the Dallas County Jail, the paper reported.

“Yahoo! News Interviews Photographer Who Says His Photographs Prove Buk Missile Shot Down MH17
    22:15 (GMT)

While the pictures are not in the report, RTL News reports that Yahoo! News has possession of three unreleased photographs which prove that a missile came from separatist-controlled territory and shot down civilian airliner Malaysian Airlines flight MH17 on July 17, 2014.

Two of the pictures reportedly show a “vertical plume,” the trail the missile made while going up into the sky, while the third reportedly shows a column of smoke rising from the crash site. Here is the RTL news statement (translation by Google) …”

How David Gregory Lost His Job

Last summer, Gregory was let go from his gig as host of “Meet the Press.” Here’s an inside look at his fall from the top—and what it says about the state of TV news.

It is a long read and I admit I skipped parts, but this caught my eye.

To rally political support for the merger, Comcast’s political-action committee handed out campaign cash, and Cohen worked to head off the concerns over diversity. Between 2008 and 2010, Comcast’s corporate foundation donated more than $3 million to 39 minority groups that wrote letters to federal regulators in support of the NBC deal. Comcast and NBC Universal also worked out an agreement with advocacy groups guaranteeing increased “minority participation in news and public affairs programming”—so long as the deal went through. And in 2009 and 2010, Comcast gave $155,000 to an organization founded by the Reverend Al Sharpton, who ended up endorsing the merger.

The campaign paid off. In January 2011, Washington approved the deal. One week later, NBC signed Cohen’s old boss, Ed Rendell, to an on-air contract. At MSNBC, which Comcast also owns, Sharpton landed a talk show. A spokeswoman for Comcast says the company is a “long-standing supporter” of minority groups and had nothing to do with Sharpton’s hiring. She also says Cohen played “little to no role” in securing Rendell’s contract.
