He’s stupendous 57, while I was standing on the riverbank in 86 layers of clothing, he was swimming. “Are you sure about this,” I asked him before he chucked himself in, “yes indeedy,” he replied. How are your cherubs today?
My sweet Kasper has what I call “slippy knees” (luxated patellas). It’s genetic, he’s had issues his entire life. We know he’ll need surgery eventually, and this last weekend I thought we were close, he was limping so badly. But he figured out how to compensate, I upped the dosage of his joint med, and he’s back getting into trouble. I pick up the mountain of toys to make room for the xmas tree, he takes them out one by one and makes his version of Nazca lines artwork. I have a new camera so I hope to be able to find a way to post photos soon. I got some GREAT photos of him in the man-cave. I threw a pink blanket in there and called him “Barbie”. He wasn’t amused.
[These are amazing young people! I always love it when I hear their sound as I’m going up the escalator from Metro. Today I was able to buy their CD’s.]

Excellent point. Human rights should never be dependent on public opinion. The “tyranny of the majority” is a very real thing in democracies, which would result in zero rights for people not included in the “majority” (i.e., Black people, hispanics, homosexuals, muslims etc.). The majority will gladly usurp the rights of “others” who are not like them in appearance or belief system, for any perceived gain it may give the majority.

Your humor about your chin hairs growing back now that you’ve been off chemo for a month (silver linings 🙂 ) reminded me of a pact my Mom and her sisters made with each other when they were approaching middle age. They promised each other that, if one of them ever ended up unconscious in the hospital, the others would come and pluck her chin 🙂 🙂 🙂
