Morning Chips and TM. Nice to begin the day with a little Presidential loving of his beautiful wife. Hope everyone is feeling well this morning.

Good morning to ya Jackie, hope you’re keeping warm!

Trying to, Chips, although the freezing mornings are a challenge. Got a call from my son saying that what he wanted most for Christmas was for me to promise to do a month of daily exercises designed to help me fall down with breaking a bone. And he sent me diagrams on how to do it! It’s a nice thought and I had to promise, but, Oh Lord, why couldn’t he just have asked for a sweater?

        • December 10, 2014 at 7:30 am

Oh my gawd, that is hilarious!!! His concern is completely sweet, but yes, a sweater would be easier!!

DO YOUR EXERCISES, Young Lady! They take commitment (and make sure you have the right PT and/or chiropractor to teach you the exercises you need). They can take many months, but trust me, they WORK if you do them every day. My life is totally different now than it was five months ago, although winter is going to be a challenge (so says my excellent chiropractor). There is no miraculous pill. It takes doing your exercises every day.

That’s an order! Your son and I are watching you!

Gotta a busy morning planned……..”fun” things like laundry and cleaning and grocery shopping. Mid-afternoon, we will head to Pigeon Forge, have dinner before seeing Smoky Mountain Opry–Cnristmas show of singing. Dancing, magic, etc. All the shows in Pigeon Forge are awesome. Also love seeing the lights in PF and Gatlinburg. Feel blessed to live so close to some of God’s beautiful creation–the Smokey Mountains.

I love most all of the dresses Michelle wears, but I do not think this dress is flattering on her. I blame the designer due to all the dresses she has worn that has her looking like a knock out. Bringing the photo back shows I have the same reaction the second time around.

Among the right wing, ‘forgive anything Republicans do’ crowd, torture is okay if a GOP president condoned it because everything is political. A large segment of that group has become inured to human suffering as long as it doesn’t affect them personally. I think this segment of selfish, cruel, rabidly partisan people exists in all societies–they just happen to be very loud in the US these days and control the major media. I continue to believe–because I see it everyday–that there are a majority of decent (although not fully awake) people who are appalled by torture, brutality and racial injustice, but don’t yet realize that they have ability to change things. I don’t know what will finally wake them up, but I do know that we have to keep trying.

    • December 10, 2014 at 7:56 am

I was out busy most of the day yesterday and when I got home and started to hear of some of the details of this report, it just sickened me. I hope this sting on W and his gang of thugs and all their apologists stays fresh in 2016. SHAME.

Don’t know if I can take much more of this RW bad news for our country.

Good morning, TOD. Posted this late night; bringing it over… PBO’s full 17 minute interview is at tweet link:

      Thank you, Alycee.

    • December 10, 2014 at 8:03 am

Thanks so much Alycee. I have watched the interview three times already. President Obama’s pushback on Jorge Ramos’ confrontation about immigration was a thing of beauty. He dispensed a bit a truth with each answer and dropping the mic at the end was priceless.

    • December 10, 2014 at 9:01 am

I am infuriated by Jorge Ramos’ tremendous disrespect for President Obama. Rude, offensive and WRONG.

      • December 10, 2014 at 9:32 am

Well POTUS didn’t sit there and take that Ramos B.S., glad to see he didn’t. Trying to blame POTUS for race relations. Would they blame a white President for race relations?

I have not watched this interview so my comment is based on the media outlets I have heard blame PBO for the current demonstrations against the police treatment of minorities. At first I was appalled at the insensitive comment and can think of all sorts of reasons it is unfair, but remembering when the GOP labeled the ACA Obamacare as a negative and how it backfired I started to think about it from a different angle. Suppose because of having a Black President the marchers and demonstrators have become bolder and resist letting the movement die. Suppose the general public starts to really become aware of the unfair treatment of Blacks by the police due to getting to know this current intelligent, fair, empathetic Black President inspite of the hate mongering press, corporatists and GOP. We really could be the change we are waiting for as we were told by a former community organizer.

Morning everyone..been lurking but I was also very busy yesterday with work, dental appt and tutoring…did see more than enough of what GWB/Cheney torture looked like and it made me ill….I continue to be very pensive now…..LIke meta, I just don’t really know how much more of this RW bullshit I can stand. They have stained America so deeply…disrespected all that we stand for more times than I care to count…I just need some space to just be. If they don’t go to jail, my fondest wish for all of them, is that they spend the rest of their days living in a personal hell that has no end….and gets worse with each passing day on this Earth. They will never again be able to travel outside the US because they all have arrest warrants out for them because they decided they were all above the humane laws that thoughtful nations of the world put in place for just instances like this. In GWB/Cheney world, they all just said ,”Fuck you, we’ll do what we want!” and they did. I hope they all rot in hell.

    • December 10, 2014 at 9:26 am

I just cannot fathom the horrific sadistic nature of all of these people, the nightmare of psychopathology. Deep, deep stain and violation of all that we stand for. UGH.

The spending bill allows individuals to give up to $324,000.00 to the party committees. RNC and DNC. It is buried deep in the legislation.

I think TIME has been a disappointment again, the ebola fighters is a good choice, but what is going on in Ferguson and all over this country because of the Eric Garner verdict would have been a good co-person of the year.

        December 10, 2014 at 9:52 am

I agree because people all over the world are protesting, sending supportive messages, and the U N is speaking out against police brutality against Black People. All of this horror speaks to the heart of who we say we are and who we really are. It must take center stage in our national conversation and efforts. Ebola was never a crisis in this country and never a world-wide crisis. Off to run errands; have a great day TOD.

With a Christie Presidency unfortunately, real people’s lives will be destroyed and the perpetrators in the media will be none the wiser for it. They will continue with their privileged, clueless lives, just as they did during the Bush years, when they actually made $$$ off his incompetence.

No words for this disgusting POS. Why. Why. Why, are we still stuck listening to anything this jackass has to say? That was rhetorical. No need to answer.
