Democratic Sen. Mary Landrieu lost to Republican congressman Bill Cassidy in the Louisiana Senate runoff election.

Absolutely hilarious tweets , NW! This was my favorite given all these so called “Blacker than thou” turning on President Obama:

“Son, we don’t play Hungry Hungry Hippos for “fun.” We play it to learn how friends turn on each other in moments of desperation and scarcity.”

I truly sympathize with you, but I wish Ms. Landrieu had gone down fighting as a real LBJ Democrat! Instead, she thought she could win by abandoning, and even trashing the President. Let’s hope Democrats don’t start behaving like the 1870s-1900s Republicans who quickly betrayed and abandoned Black people, who had been instrumental in enabling them to maintain majorities in Congress during the Reconstruction period, while hoping to attract the votes of white supremacists. Despite the Republican betrayal of African Americans, the South (former Confederate State) remained solidly Democratic until the 1960s.

Ha, caught you over here, Nath. I don’t fear….I loathe the fact that Dems will do just as you hope they won’t. PBO will not be running next election. Instead there will be a white person- more palatable for most in Washington- and they will put their all in getting back into the majority, even if it means abandoning black folks who were their steadfast supporters for decades, in the effort to appease white voters from the south, just as we’ve already witnessed. I hold no hopes for a Dem president in this current climate, not with Dems not showing up at the polls, not realizing the importance of their votes, all the shadow money buying vote outcomes. I think I give up. Mid-term 2010 began an avalanche of losses and it has only grown since then. PBO told us not to hand back the keys and too many didn’t listen. I’m with amk. It doesn’t look good unless people “begin” to pay attention because from what I saw, folks went to sleep.

I’m worried about this very thing too. But we must keep fighting and not give up. That’s what PBO is doing every day. We can do no less.

LL so am I. All I can say is she deserved to lose. It isn’t like we could count her as a democrat anyway.

A Cuban doctor who recovered from Ebola after receiving experimental treatment in Switzerland has been welcomed back to Havana by relatives and officials.

Dr Felix Baez, 43, was the first of his country’s contingent of 250 doctors and nurses to have contracted Ebola in West Africa.

Dr Baez fell ill in Sierra Leone and was taken to Geneva a few days later, on 20 November.

At a Swiss hospital he was treated with a precursor Ebola drug, ZMapp.

He was also given an untested Japanese flu drug.

The hospital says Dr Baez has made a full recovery.

Great grandson was given Elf on a Shelf this year. I’m personally sick to death of the little tattle-tale elf. Magical powers? Yeah, to carry back tales to Santa. #NotWorking Ha!

    Evenin’, folks.

gotta admit, i’m getting a little concerned about where all this protesting is going. i’ve clicked through several of the tweets above, which project that they’re concerned about garner, mike brown, etc, and see so many are simply libertarian trash who incessantly denigrate president obama and his family, and then put up an “#icantbreathe” tweet to act as if they’re concerned citizens for non-white folks.

merging the ron paul and “pure progressive” groups, eventually leading to libertarian support in general, has long been a goal of the koch brothers and their buddies. this would be a disaster. we have a clear choice of parties right now, and the only obvious choice for any real obama-backer is to support democrats as a whole, and work to try and improve the democratic candidates each election cycle. just as the obama family themselves have done.
