    Good Evening TODVille.

Thank you, NW, for the beautiful pictures of POTUS. I was very busy today and didn’t get a chance to watch him. Doing that now.

The president made a sweeping overhaul on immigration. I am glad that he did what he did and is fighting these republican bastards.

Welp, I have a Chinese phone, so I may as well get a Chinese laptop. I think a Lenovo will be gracing my desk tomorrow.

My guess is that this is Pacific time, meaning PBO will leave Las Vegas at 1:40 pm EST Sunday.

There’s usually a good tail wind (i.e., Jet Stream) that should bring his flight back to DC around 5:40 pm EST Sunday.

I would ask him how he puts up with the negative attitude of the media – including yourself – how he copes with the GOP and the media being 100% racist and how he keeps his cool when all about him are losing it.

Good response, 99. You should send that to George. He’s too incompetent to think of it on his own.

These photos in this gallery take my breath and my words away. Thank you, NW, thank you Chipsticks. You two hold the world together, as far as I’m concerned. Many blessings to you both. And deep gratitude. I have to go and rest now, I am in pain and beyond weary. Night night TOD! May God Bless and Keep our President within His Infinite Heart. ❤ 🐻 🙂 Remember, Sun and Moon conjunct in Sagittarius tomorrow! Lovely!

If I wake up tomorrow and feel like this and don’t go to urgent care, feel free to box me around the ears.

(Ah, “box around the ears” is a phrase I don’t get to use too often. I feel so Victorian.)

Ok good people, off to cook dinner, and then likely collapse. See everyone at some point this weekend.

leave it to charles pierce to get me laughing again today–

‘ When Eric Cantor was asked to leave his place of employment — that request came from his constituents — he neglected to pass along the location of the mason jar in which he buried John Boehner’s balls back in 2010. Boehner’s search now has become one of those National Treasure movies, where you have to find the location of the clues before you can find the location of the treasure. Apparently, he’s come to the spot on the map that reads, “Now that the president has acted on immigration, it’s time to sue him over the Affordable Care Act.” ‘

Very late to the party, thank you zizi2 for your marvelous essay. I sent it to several people. I always appreciate how grounded your essays are.

And thank you to Chipsticks and NW for the pictures and videos. Some time after my family leaves Sunday I will watch the video of today’s speech. Fortunately I got to see last night’s in real time.

The conversation about transformational presidents was right on point. These people happen only rarely in history. Probably we are lucky to have three in our short history.

In England’s loooong history…..there are some transformational monarchs, and a lot of duds. Several come to mind …. Henry VIII, Elizabeth I, George III…..for all the wrong reasons to them…….Victoria……Edward VII…….perhaps George VI, who brought them through WWII….I wouldn’t say Elizabeth II has been transformational…..but the world has transformed during her reign.

our president is always, always handling a dozen critical issues behind the scenes.

‘ President Obama signed a classified order in recent weeks authorizing a more expansive mission for the military in Afghanistan in 2015 than originally planned, a move that ensures American troops will have a direct role in fighting in the war-ravaged country for at least another year.

Mr. Obama’s order allows American forces to carry out missions against the Taliban and other militant groups threatening American troops or the Afghan government, a broader mission than the president described to the public earlier this year, according to several administration, military and congressional officials with knowledge of the decision. The new authorization also allows American jets, bombers and drones to support Afghan troops on combat missions. ‘

  21. November 21, 2014 at 11:21 pm

When I saw pictures of PM Abbott with Pres Obama at the G20 I felt that Abbott admired POTUS and that the President would work on him. Add this to the list of POTUS’ accomplishments. This article talks about Abbott’s resistance to working on climate change and then G20 happened. Oh, this is SO GOOD! Read the article folks.

….Obama had remained the model of politeness. Privately, however, US sources say he was more than a little annoyed. His administration let it be known that the matter would come up around the G20 whether the host nation wanted it or not.

What followed was as frontal a repudiation of the Abbott position as could have been imagined. In diplomatic terms, it was a triple touch-up. First on the eve of the Brisbane summit last Wednesday, Obama joined forces with China’s President Xi Jinping to steal the pre-summit oxygen announcing a historic joint commitment to limit carbon dioxide output at lower levels and more quickly than previously committed to in both countries.

Obama followed that up two days later on the Friday with a leaked commitment of $US3 billion to the Green Climate Fund – an international pool being assembled to finance climate change adaptation in poorer countries affected by climate change. Abbott had already dismissed the fund as socialism masquerading as environmentalism.

And finally on the Saturday, the President used a scene-stealing speech at Brisbane’s University of Queensland to elevate climate policy even further, formally announcing that $US3 billion pledge and openly calling for countries – Australian specifically as a large per-capita polluter – to do more. He wanted to keep the Great Barrier Reef even if the Abbott government did not….

….After years of brushing the issue aside or handling questions with a palpable reluctance, the penny has dropped….

Abbott has no brain of his own – is entirely dependent on his so called “advisors” – George W Bush the 2nd. All he wants to do is make poor people pay extra for health care and make sure the rich get richer. The pronouncements about the Great barrier reef by Jjulie Bishop (foreign Minister) are an affront to the truth – this government cares not one iota about the reef – together with the state government they are giving it to mining interests so it will die.

Only reason Abbott thinks about climate change is – votes and money.

I am so blessed to be part of this group where I can come read and post about our shared support of our amazing President. My Thanksgiving thanks this year includes all of you and this place, our Presidential leader and family and administration. Thanks also for my own part in recognizing PBO’s greatness, my family, home, and for the Hope PBO has inspired me to feel for our future inspite of the obstruction we all face in creating a better world.

I think the Friday document dump is now pretty much obsolete with the Internet. Now it’s the Holiday Eve Dump. The Days: Christmas Eve, New Years Eve and Day, Thanksgiving Eve and Day. And that’s it. This isn’t a Friday dump, but a Friday before the weeklong Holiday dump. Lots of people are going to celebrate a six-day weekend (Friday to Monday after Next), and won’t pay much attention to this news.

Remember when Benghazi was going to the the thing that sank Obama’s candidacy? Or his Presidency? With the luck and competence of the Republicans in their Wylie Coyote search for something that would allow them to impeach, or failing that, get people to really, really, hate him, Obama could well have a girlfriend and they not find out until he unpacks his luggage in Chicago.

A lot of people are up at this time in the morning. Maybe it’s because it’s the weekend before Thanksgiving? Or the New Moon?
