A Tweet Or Two

Bravo, John Legend. Fool that Piers Morgan is, he believes that if Black people stop using the N-word, then whites will have no reason to be racists. Give the man a trophy!

Chips and all TODers who are dog parents,
This is so hilarious I got an ab workout laughing. Anyone who has animals in the family will recognize and enjoy. Merrill Markoe, a comedy writer, is talking about and sharing a film of her dog and his deflated ball. It’s 10 minutes and absolutely worth it!

Pray tell, PM. who coined the N-word?

    There lies your idiocy.

Funny….how Lefties laugh and point to Ditto Heads……who dutifully vote.
But Lefties shy away from Voting when they don’t get 100% of what they have imagined to be their ideals?
Yet, we call righties dumb? But we are easily sacred by what The Media says? Okay.

I’m not all in with him, because he helped to build that. People like Hayes love to stay on the sidelines after the damage is done, and pretend they had nothing to do with it. But while he was busy earning COMCAST’s paycheck, with no worries about a GOP takeover of the Senate, he was busy undermining POTUS’ accomplishments by spending quite a bit of airtime hankering after bullshit “concerns” of limousine liberals like drones, and NSA spying. Those limousine liberals enjoy staying home during the midterms and allowing GOPers to win…they know they won’t be the ones paying the price.

Chris Hayes is also part of that problem – from early 2013, he was busy doing his part to enable the likes of Snowden/Greenwald and the Libertarian left in helping the GOP “run against Obama.” Ditto for most of COMCAST talking heads….

Comcast came in in 2011. POTUS still won handily.
Chris Hayes is a twit. He got this right, though.
The reason I posted this is…….Lefties Knew what GOPers are all about…..yet No winnable strategy was developed to Once again……deny GOPers from their wrecking Media, Money and Voter suppression.

          November 11, 2014 at 4:35 pm

Nena presidential years have a very different dynamic from midterms. The fact remains that people like Hayes joined forces with the GOP to attack the President on spurious matters, when there was so much important and positive changes from PBO that he and his colleagues could have been highlighting. Hayes’ posting this now sounds so insincere and hypocritical – he’s just covering his guilty ass and trying to deflect blame for himself.

How people Vote is what I like to analyze…..my sort of specialty.
            Part of my DNA.

This is more like a new thing for Dems……The Mid-term total collapse.

They were not losing elections so lopsided until in 1994, the 1st in 40yrs…..then 2010 and 2014.
Dems used to have the Older Votes. That changed after 2002/2004. It is interesting that GW Bush gave the Oldies Donut-hole. Dems helped fixed it…..but now, Oldies are now solidly voting for the GOPers. That is the ONLY dynamic that has changed here. Young people were Never reliable consistent Voters.

Yes analyzing votes is good, and I believe we could do this without elevating Hayes on this site. Hayes is not a pro-Obama individual, and he and his colleagues at MSNBC are a big part of why Dems didn’t vote this year. COMCAST knew exactly what they were doing when they promoted his ass to that 8PM slot. He joined forces with Greenwald and Snowden for pretty much all of 2013 to undermine PBO.

Last night I watched the daily press briefing in China with Josh Ernest, Ben Rhodes and the US Trade Representative, Michael Froman, which was just astounding.

First question that I saw was from Carol (I think @carol_e_lee of @wsj) who asked about 3 questions in one (run-on) sentence, ending with “Did the President call Comcast before his net neutrality announcement?”

Mentioned last night that this proof positive that MSM/GOP/Kochs are driven by Orwellian Corporate media monopoly.

The WHPC in China were incredibly combative, antagonistic and disbelieving of anything that the unflappable and professional Josh, Ben and Ambassador Froman had to say.

Actually, aside from net neutrality, all the questions I heard were about foreign policy.

But they were combative about it. For those who remember the first season of SNL, it was like Dan Ackroyd saying to Jane Curtain, “Jane, you ignorant slut”…

I think the Kansas election was rigged…..

Financial projections released late Monday paint a grim picture for Kansas’s budget in the wake of Gov. Sam Brownback’s (R) decision to sign massive income tax cuts into law.

The estimates showed that the state is on track to collect $1 billion less in revenue next year and in 2016 than had previously been projected, according to the Kansas City Star.

The estimates also said the state will use up $380 million in reserves and still have to cut another $280 million for fiscal year 2015 to balance the state’s current budget. In addition, in 2016, revenues are expected to be $436 million short of expenditures according to the forecast.

Altogether it was the latest bit of bleak news for Kansas and Brownback, who won re-election a week ago, defeating House Minority Leader Paul Davis (D).

This is heinous! I don’t see it making a big enough difference for Landrieu to pull out this election.

Senate Democrats Said to Consider Keystone Vote Soon
Senate Democrats are considering scheduling a vote in the lame-duck session to force approval of the Keystone XL pipeline, a party aide said, a move that may bolster Louisiana Democrat Mary Landrieu’s re-election battle.

Casting a vote in favor of the pipeline may benefit Landrieu ahead of a Dec. 6 runoff, in which she faces Republican Representative Bill Cassidy. Congress returns tomorrow for a post-election session.

I thought the decision on KXL was Kerry’s and PBO’s alone because the project crosses international lines. I must be wrong because what good does it do to have Congress vote on it?

I would like to add to DWS. You played it old school thinking you needed to run away from PBO’s record instead of playing the record up since the media did not. The reason people come out in hordes is due to PBO standing for real change not just more of the same. Abandoning that change is not smart. I can see why you are asking for smart people to help since smart people were no where to be found in the Dem party election strategies in the 2014 election. Given a historically advantaged situation that you have walked away from I am worried about this party’s future.

I must confess that I stopped watching the moment an MSNBC pundit goes off the rail. When Matthews forgot his meds, I don’t watch. When Clever Hayes is too excited about liberty and freedom to spy on your employer, I don’t watch. Even for Dr. Maddow, whom I like very much, I skip town as soon as she follows the libertarian creed.

If MSNBC wants ratings, it must stick to what his base needs. First, speak of the merits of Affordable Care Act, then, highlight the evils coming from the GOP, then add some interesting news. I would be a captive viewer.

I did some small-scale media push-back today, inspired by one of this blog’s photos from Pres. Obama’s trip to Asia.

I come from a smallish town that happens to be the headquarters of a large international corporation. The CEO of that company was with Pres. Obama on this trip, and I saw the photo here. So I went to the online site of my home town paper to see if they had covered it. It’s totally a company town so I thought the travels of the CEO should be of interest.

The town is pretty much Republican but I think the county went for Obama in both 2008 and 2012. The newspaper is quite conservative. As I expected, there was no photo of the CEO and our President together. (Something similar happened when the same CEO was a guest at a state dinner at the WH – a big deal in DC but they didn’t cover it at all.) I feel like the paper doesn’t want to associate their local big important guy with the President, like it would shine a positive light on the President which they don’t want to do.

So I wrote to complain, sending them a link to a good photo. I got back an email from the editor saying that they have now run an appropriate photo. I checked the website and there it is! I feel like I did a small thing for the team today.

Hey TOD, is it just me or is there a trend building? It seems like since the election, the emprogs have come out in force to trash PBO. While they’ve done it all along, it’s like everywhere you go on the internet someone is trashing him. We’ve got two more years to go, and i don’t think he intends to waste those years but it appears a good share of his base is giving up. I’m not talking DK here, but even places like the comments on Stonekettle. It just blows my mind that everyone can forget so quickly how much he has accomplished and how hard he fought for the wins. It is incredibly disappointing. Guess I should have been prepared for this but I clearly am not. If this continues for two more years, I am going to hate the Dems by 2016 nearly as much as I do the GOP!

Did they mention how that impressive 8th grade girl asked PBO how to improve rural economies? (Rhetorical question, the answer is “of course not.”)

This was at a townhall about a month ago — can’t remember where now, someplace in the Midwest, I think.

PBO’s answer was… broadband… which dovetails nicely with his net neutrality announcement yesterday.

Bet that would shut those Dems up quickly.

        • 118 99ts
          November 11, 2014 at 8:36 pm

I gather there are major fights going on to stop some counties offering broadband – free enterprise and all that – private companies only want to operate in the big cities – profits – they do the same in Oz – all was good here until the telecommunications industry was “privatised”

“It seems like since the election, the emprogs have come out in force to trash PBO”

Not true. The opposite – they’re mostly bashing the Democrats who distanced themselves from him and tried to run a GOP-lite campaign. Most of the emoprogs from 2010 are now pretending they were never critical of PBO.

“it appears a good share of his base is giving up.”

Sorry but that’s not true either. You clearly don’t know who Obama’s “base” is. And let me tell you quite frankly, it’s NOT those flaky Left-wing Libertarians you see trolling internet sites bashing him.

Lost in all of this ongoing assault on the citizens of Ferguson is the fact that this arose because a police officer shot an unarmed teen who had his hands in the air in broad daylight.
