Ah, Donna, you must just melt whenever you’re with them. They could not be more adorable–two little golden princesses. How old are they now?

It just swells your heart, doesn’t it. That’s our baby granddaughter in my avatar, wearing a lampshade on her head because she loves hats. She always makes me laugh.

She’s so adorable and they do the cutest things. 🙂

The DIL and son buy them all these expensive toys and learning gadgets and what do the girls play with? They crawl over to the kitchen and pull out the pots and pans and bang bang bang for hours. You cannot tell them that they are not creating music. Somethings these young parents will have to learn on their own. 🙂

I can relate to that, Donna. When my son was younger, he was often more content with making his own hand toy from a straw and a piece of aluminum foil, rather than playing with the gimmicky toys (that were obvious more interesting to his parent(s) than they were to him).

Morning. Yesterday was a really fun play time at TOD. Last night, our local college had a Mexican ‘Day of the Dead’ event’ that included Mexican music, a fantastic exhibit of Day of the Dead artwork and sculpture, lots of bizarre, white-faced, skeleton costumed students and faculty, and the most fantastic array of Mexican foods ever. Great fun and well attended. Today, it’s back to the grindstone, getting out the vote, putting together our Latino phone bank and dealing with endless task lists for our Salsa the Vote event. Four more days!

Good Morning TOD family, I trust you all had a Happy Halloween. Anyway on Tuesday I early voted, it was such a joy walking up to the voting machine and choosing Wendy Davis as the next governor of the great state of Texas.

Voting gives me a high, too! Nothing will never top voting for Barack Obama in 2008, however. 2012 came close, but that first time voting for him for President will never be topped!

  14. November 1, 2014 at 8:42 am

GM, TOD. Reince Preibus here and VERY late to the party. hehehehe. Told y’all I wouldn’t be around. Neighborhood party that is a huge tradition. I did quickly scroll through threads so I didn’t totally miss out.

Donna, LOVE the picture of your babies. What a fantastic way to begin the day–HOPE!!!!!! I love the picture of the graduate looking up at PO. Few minutes ago, I muted CBS. Going on and on about PO’s unpopularity in the battleground states. Heard her read how many rallies he did in 2010 and how many this year. How candidates don’t want to mention his name. Couldn’t take it any longer.

btw, in case she doesn’t make an appearance, today is symmetry’s birthday. 🙂 🙂 🙂

GooOood MoooOOooorning, GDD with your princesses! Such a lovely, loving court to have!

Special (white) November 1st greetings to everyone! I can’t believe I may have to put my snow tires on soon. Wonder if Australia has room for and is sympathetic to the \alien’ homeless at this time of year?

        November 1, 2014 at 8:58 am

Well, before PBO I never ‘did’ politics so I figure I could survive icy politics by simply voting then staying out of it. The white stuff here can not generally be avoided.

        Evening, TS!

          November 1, 2014 at 9:10 am

Cannot stay out of it vc – that’s why we get such awful governments – despite compulsory voting – with Mr 99 retiring, first time I have to communicate with the department that looks after “older Australians”. Maximum wait time to talk to them so far – 90 minutes! – see how keen they are about communicating with us!!!!!!!!! Pfft. I imagine for the young unemployed it probably takes longer.

Some of these polls are pure crap. A local poll a few days ago showed Braley ahead and a poll from PPP had him ahead. Momentum has been on his side for weeks so I don’t believe that crap.

Bill Maher—exactly right at the end of last night’s New Rules—–Democrats, stop throwing your own people (President Obama) under the bus. Didn’t have to be this way. Dems allowed Repubs to make PBO someone they needed to “distance themselves from”. For No Reason. Obama’s record is praiseworthy, a long list of historical accomplishments. Dems should have stood unified and firm supporting and touting his record.

    • 101 desertflower

Must have missed this part…I was pissed when then the entire discussion with Eva Longoria was about Obama being “unpopular”…turned it off

      • 102 desertflower
        November 1, 2014 at 9:29 am

That, and the fact that it was the Republicans “year”…whatever the hell THAT’S supposed to mean.

        • 103 dotster3
          November 1, 2014 at 9:38 am

Just thought what he said about Dems making their elections so much more difficult than they needed to be—–“distancing themselves” from a highly accomplished president and a Dem record to be proud of —–has been nonsensical and stupid. Allowed Repubs to control the message—–a false message.

      • 104 dotster3
        November 1, 2014 at 9:32 am

I didn’t get that impression. Heard Eva say that when she hears Latinos say they are mad about no immigration reform, she tells them the remedy is to VOTE, not to disengage and not vote.

    • November 1, 2014 at 9:53 am

I think about when PBO was working to get the ACA passed. Liberals had an “all or nothing” attitude, and in the end, complained about what was not included. During the process, I felt they often left PBO hanging out to dry…sort of a wait-see attitude. If things went well it would be “see what *we* did.” If not, PBO would be set up to shoulder all the blame. Eventually, PBO saw the fair-weathered support that he had and negotiated based on that. He didn’t settle for the “nothing” that extreme liberals *claimed* they would have preferred. “Nothing” was unacceptable, and because of that, millions have benefitted.

      November 1, 2014 at 9:58 am

I think Maher needs to be a more honest of the role of the media (including the so-called left media) in all of this. The Dems didn’t just “distance” themselves from PBO in a vacuum. The entire messaging system in the media was that PBO was a failure – from the time he had his second inauguration – the media became relentless in trying to find a “scandal” to lay on him. Whether it was Benghazi, NSA bullshit with Snowden (and MSNBC gave Snowden and Greenwald a platform on this for weeks/months), followed by his decision on Syria, followed by ACA website glitch, VA “scandal,” followed by Gaza/syria, Golf, tan Suit, Secret Service failure, and then Ebola. And during all these last two years, Chuck Todd and friends kept putting out poll after bloody poll claiming that PBO was “at an all time low” or PBO was “worse than Bush” etc, etc.

When these media idiots like Maher are pretending to be all surprised and upset that Dems are “distancing” themselves from PBO, I give them the side glance – that’s what THEY helped to create…THEY were part of the problem…and THEY are not helping by now pretending otherwise. Time to own their shit, hold their fellow media colleagues accountable, and take responsibility for the part they played in fomenting necessary hatred and resentment of this President who by ANY standard is one of the best presidents America has ever had.

Amen ! I agree 100 % with this statement. The media created this environment as soon as the second inauguration was over.

Oh man! Those “family values” kick your ass everytime!

    http://www.nbcwashington.com/news/local/Michael-Centanni-DC-Child-Porn-Charges-281114612.html

A 48-year-old D.C. man and well-known fundraiser for conservative political candidates is accused of receiving and possessing child pornography.

Michael Centanni was arrested Thursday after an investigation by U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement and Homeland Security. Court documents say federal officers were led to Centanni through “child porn sharing” files traced to his home computer.

According to those documents, officers also found a hidden camera inside his D.C. home with a clear view of the shower.
Centanni works as a Chief Operating Officer with Base Connect, a company that specializes with conservative, direct-mail fundraising, housed just a few blocks from the White House.

new PPP poll in wi has mary burke tied with walker. was 1 percent lead for walker total, but the last day of the 3 day polled had it tied with burke gaining each day. a commenter at dkos looked at their results from recent elections in wisconsin, and PPP on average had the democrat slightly lower than the final result, and more importantly, had the republican over performing by 3-4 percent.
    http://www.dailykos.com/comments/1340620/54860693

very winnable for burke if people continue to push through with GOTV this weekend through election night on tuesday.
