Kudos to PBO, showing leadership, intelligence, and calm as usual. With so many quack doctors and politicians fanning the flames of hysteria and misinformation, it’s nice to see the best and the brightest being rightfully honored.

By the way, gas was $2.59 by me tonight — obviously Obama’s fault. #ThanksObama. πŸ™„

I’ve been pretty impressed with the way that even the smallest Democratic county parties are mimicking the lessons learned from the 2008 and 2012 presidential campaigns. There’s a very high level of professionalism going on, down to the smallest details on election day. As a result, I’ve seen a higher level of enthusiasm as if people are seeing the actual connection between what they do and the outcome of the election. Believe me, when I say that many local Democratic committees were clueless in the pre-PBO days and just kind of made stuff up as they went along. Just having yard signs available was once considered a major contribution to a campaign.

I wonder if we would be experiencing “fearbola” if the outbreak had been in Europe or Asia….anywhere but countries in Africa.

Sickening. I remember a video during the ’08 campaign where a woman in broad daylight (or some wacko broad in daylight, a term I don’t usually use) was taking down signs in her neighborhood. She forgot about the surveillance cameras, of course, having no brain.

    • October 29, 2014 at 9:52 pm

Republicans have gotten pretty desperate…don’t know if stealing some signs is going to make a difference though.

This stupid, childish exercise by Republicans goes on every day in our county. It’s actually a misdemeanor and you can charge someone you find doing it. Democrats have to resort to all sorts of tricks, from putting grease on the signs to keep hands off, to posting little signs saying, “why do Republicans have to sink so low.” Can’t think what the idiots hope to accomplish. It just riles people up and makes them more committed than ever to vote D.

Here’s wacko woman thief in ’08. Maybe I won’t remember to turn the clocks back on Nov. 2, but I remember videos from the Obama campaign – Ha!

Hey, TOD. Crazy busy day. So, I’ve been volunteering to register voters, phone-bank, block walk, canvass, and data entry for a year. (holy crap, I just realized I’ve been volunteering for the 2014 cycle for a year!). I recently added driving people to the polls to the list of activities I volunteer for.

Insane encounter: This sweet elderly woman needed a ride to the polls. She’s the only Democrat in her family, and her family members promised to take her to the polls to early vote, but they kept putting her off. She would call them everyday and her brother, sister, sister-in-law, etc., would promise to come pick her up the next day, and conveniently “something would pop up” the next day and they couldn’t take her.

Through what I had signed up for, I showed up to take her to the polls and she was in tears thanking me. Early voting is almost over and she was anguished that she would miss the early voting period (and maybe election day) and not get the chance to cast her vote for the Democratic party. I was gobsmacked that there are Republican family members who are so extremely conservative that they’d go to such measures to prevent a family member from voting.

It’s been great driving people to the polls to early vote. Especially, elderly individuals. They are so delightful and tell the best stories! πŸ™‚

It’s crunch time and TOD, if you have the time, please look into your local Democratic party and find out how you can help. They can direct you to local, statewide, and federal candidates where you can go to campaign offices and phone-bank, data entry, etc. If you’re too busy to do any of the above, then stop by their offices with food, water, etc. The volunteers and paid staff work hard and they would appreciate it. πŸ™‚

Democrats are going to win this!

      Two things.
      1. Stuck smile on the woman’s face (whom I believe is Mrs. Christie; believe I’ve seen that smile before, or else that was on Ann Romney’s face).
      2. Isn’t drinking all that water a sign of burning rage inside? If so, who cares.

Imagine the media reaction if any democrat acted in this fashion – why is this not front page news – why isn’t the press asking what happened to the Sandy money. It seems if you have an R after your name the media treats you as a saint.

Thanks Nerdy Wonka for your dedication and thanks Chips and all TOD warriors. GOTV will make the difference: MSM will be like Romney election night 2014: polls not to be believed. How many people never pick up unknown calls. No way to sample these people (including me).

We don’t pick up unknown phone number calls either……glad to know we’re not alone. I imagine there are millions like us. We have a landline as well as a cell, and so I’m sure a number of those unrecognized numbers are fund raisers or polls.
Young people with cells only answer numbers they know. I’ve seen them many times glance at the number, wrinkle their nose, and click it off. We are not like the old days, when every call seemed important, and we raced to answer the phone…..we can pick and choose now.
