Morning, Chips (Madame First). I would so love to have one of those high fives from the president. But then, who wouldn’t?

    GM Chips and TOD

No matter what anyone else tells you please remember that the true story of the rally in MD was and remains that so many people came out to see the President that we needed an overflow room and still had to turn hundreds of people away because the Fire Marshall said that the building could not accommodate any more supporters. That’s the real story of that rally yesterday.

And it didn’t just happen in MD. The same can be said about the rally in Illinois and Democrats showed up big time for rallies held over the weekend in Arkansas for Pryor and Braley in Iowa/.

Indicators show that early voting in GA and IA strongly favor the Dems and the supporters in GA seem to be fired up for their candidates. All over this country and contrary to the way it is being reported by our Corporate Owned with an agenda media the Dems are working hard on the ground to turnout its voters. I can’t promise you that we will win every race that we are competing in but we are not sitting on our hands just hoping people will vote. There is real action taking place in all of these states.

In a year that is suppose to be a landslide year for the Republicans the Democrats are pushing each one of these candidates to the brink and I think there is going to be some real surprises as well as egg on the face for most of these cable pundits.

I love the response from this person regarding Chuck Todd and MSNBC. ” Liberal news filtered conservatively.” I couldn’t have said it better myself!

    Everyone have a great O’Day!

Donna, appreciate all you do to get out the truth, although I have never believed anything I read in the media. Democrats need to keep calm and keep getting the job done, voter by voter. All the rest is distraction meant to discourage us or deter us from our goal. The president and First Lady keep on keeping on through all the muck and the lies and so must we.

Continue doing the good job, dd. It should not be required but it is required is pathetic state of affairs.

We do have a ground game going on in competitive races. We absolutely must defeat Joni Ernst, Michelle Nunn is looking good in Georgia, Hagen looks very promising in NC and Landrieu is picking up steam in LA. Grimes, I don’t know what the deal is there but it would be SWEET to knock McConnell off his high horse, even though she gets on my last nerve. We’re likely to have a Crist win in FL. But, yes, this is ALL about GOTV.

I wish I could be in an area that I could canvass where it’s needed but, please, let’s not forget we can still phonebank. And don’t forget to rattle your friends, neighbors and family – YES, even Uncle Pookie who’s sitting on the couch watching football!!

      Have a great day, Donna.

Morning, Meta! Happy to see you are getting back into your very early west coast routine (my sign all is well). ๐Ÿ™‚

Talking about competitive races, I will add that Senate Majority PAC https://www.youtube.com/user/majoritypac/videos has a series of ads on their YouTube channel that we can help push into the air. In fact they have more than one for the self-centred Ms Ernst. Here’s one….

        October 20, 2014 at 8:46 am

Yes, the ground game, which is mostly ignored by MSM because it would require actual reporting work by them.

Recall that Michael Bennet (D-CO and DSCC chair) said Dems’ spending ratio favors the ground game rather than TV spots.

For some unknown reason, the MSM’s flavor of the moment is interviewing GOP and libertarian (dudebros! their fav!) pollsters which mention how completely wrong the pollsters were in 2012, but by golly, they’ve got 2014 right.

Just one example for a candidate you mentioned:

I am very happy to see Bill Clinton out for Mary Landrieu. Bill’s appearances do not assure victory (Wendy Gruell and Chelsea’s mother-in-law for example) but I think in LA GA NC KY PA, etc, lots of places where the ex-Pres has retained his popularity, a campaign rally can generate enthusiasm and help us GOTV.

    GLIMMERS OF HOPE

    ——————————–

(CNN) — While Ebola cases keep spiraling out of control in the three West African countries, there are glimmers of hope elsewhere in the world.

Nigeria was declared Ebola-free Monday, following an announcement that Senegal is now rid of the virus.

A nurse’s aide in Spain has also beaten Ebola after spending weeks hospitalized with the virus.

And the fiancee of the first person diagnosed with Ebola in the United States ends her quarantine period, meaning she almost certainly doesn’t have the virus — and isn’t a risk to the Dallas community.
    .
    .
The monitoring period for 48 people who came in contact with Duncan ended at midnight, according to Dallas County Judge Clay Jenkins, who is overseeing response efforts in Dallas.

“Thankfully they are all asymptomatic, and it looks like none of them will get Ebola,” Jenkins said.

Just read 4more’s post on the overnight thread:
    http://theobamadiary.com/2014/10/19/a-tweet-or-two-146/#comment-1163487

“my god. never heard of this stooge Gabriel Debenedetti at reuters until some tweets upthread here, but they turn these tools out like rabbits in mating season! heโ€™s highlighting anti-obama made-up lies, promoting hillary, and sewing seeds of doubt already for martin oโ€™malley, and any potentially negative story about republicans is bathed in โ€œboth sidesโ€ salve. this unaccomplished twit is going to skyrocket up โ€œthe newsโ€ business if he keeps those lies up! and surprise, surprise, the 23-24 year old comes from substantial privilege, as best i can tell:

    http://www.universitypressclub.com/archive/2010/12/21-questions-with-gabriel-debenedetti-12/

Whatโ€™s the best meal youโ€™ve eaten in Princeton? This is difficult, because Iโ€™ve lived in Princeton for essentially my entire life. But letโ€™s go with the first time I had the filet mignon at the Witherspoon Grill while celebrating my birthday with my family โ€” Iโ€™m not sure how many years ago that was. At least five.

uh, yea. who doesnโ€™t get filet mignon at high-end restaurants for your teen/pre-teen birthdays?!? the entire f-ing โ€œnewsโ€ business is completely, utterly taken over by republican/libertarian operatives and simply needs to be destroyed and rebuilt. murrow, kronkite, and so on are rolling over in their graves.”

    * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * *

This is what is wrong with our media.

Most have such privileged backgrounds, have never struggled a day in their life, have no clue what it’s like to “live within your means” or even having to budget or make sacrifices to purchase whatever their hearts desire.

And their favorite thing is to talk amongst themselves.

    • 64 jackiegrumbacher
      October 20, 2014 at 8:58 am

And this will be the corporate, over privileged media’s doom, Arapaho, as more and more people tune them out as irrelevant to their lives. We still have people who remember when news from the media meant something besides propaganda, but when those older folks have left the field, those remaining will view the media as quaint, not relevant. It’s happening in record numbers already as younger Americans, and even some of us oldies, tune out and that trend will only grow. Would love to see the day when the media ends up talking to themselves and nobody is listening, which actually occurs every day in retirement homes.

Thanks again donna for emphasizing the accurate details of yesterdays’ rallies. I believe the MSM was shocked to see how many people turned out for PBO – shocked AND angry because it basically exposed their bogus narrative of PBO being unpopular. And some still didn’t want to believe their lying eyes and went out of their way to “explain” how such an *unpopular* President could draw such large crowds.

For example, I got into an argument on Twitter with one such late last night, who insisted that PBO’s crowds yesterday meant nothing because those crowds were “not representative of the US” and PBO is unpopular. He then went on to use a flawed example of Barry Goldwater (who never won a single Presidential election) drawing large crowds but losing the election to LBJ. I told him that PBO had won two elections in a row by popular vote – so the analogy between him and Goldwater is seriously flawed. He then started bringing up all kinds of other irrelevant and cherry-picked stuff, like PBO’s 100K rally in MO (when he lost the state) or PBO’s current “approval rating” of 41%.

The interesting thing is that he calls himself a “liberal” yet the venom and thinly veiled racism towards PBO in his tweets were quite apparent. He ended up blocking me because I exposed his faulty logic and dogged reliance on “polls.” It’s people like him who are openly encouraging Dem candidates and white Democratic voters to distance themselves from PBO for no good reason other than they want people to think that PBO is unpopular. I suspect this “liberal” is either a closeted PUMA or a Libertarian.

P.S. Now that I know what I know about the state of MO, I wouldn’t be surprised in hindsight if there was widespread GOP-endorsed voting machine/ballot fraud in 2008. But I digress….

      October 20, 2014 at 9:21 am

Hopefruit, you did it again—-hit the nail on the head.
Missouri was the last state to report 2008 Presidential tally. My memory was that it took weeks. I NEVER believed that PBO lost MO. Of course, by the time the phony results were reported it didn’t affect the end results.

I also fear that MO may become the point of the spear for Repubs in the next 2 weeks.
If the State announces “No indictment” for Darren Wilson before November 4 ……..I cannot finish the thought. I am sure TOD can see how that would likely play out.

    • October 20, 2014 at 9:56 am

That is why almost everyday you had all those polls coming out saying how POTUS approval numbers were terrible, it was a plot by the media, hand in hand with the Republicans..
