MSNBC A Liberal News Station? Chuckle.

  ****

by Donna

IDK I guess its just me but it amazes me that people are surprised at the level of negativity toward PBO on MSNBC. That station has been doing this since right after he won in 2008. A lot of people pine for Olbermann but he was one of the first who started with the negativity about PBO. He was a favorite “son” of DailyKos who started their hatefest as soon as PBO picked his transition team. I knew exactly what Keith would be featuring on his show at night just by looking at the ‘recommended” essays featured on that website daily.

I’ll never forget Chris Matthews having one of those gun nuts on his show who proudly carried his assault weapon while protesting President Obama when he was in Arizona in 2009. It was the height of sensationalism.

Chuck Todd is vengeful and doesn’t like that this WH doesn’t give the media complete access so he takes it out on them with every negative story that he can feature. I try not to wish harm on anyone but I am rooting for MTP to fail.

And don’t get me started about how they highlighted those bogus ObamaCare Townhalls until they were all the rage by 2010.

They are NOT a LIBERAL news station. They are infotainment masquerading as news people. Only Chuck Todd and Andrea Mitchell have ever actually had the title of new reporters although I question each of their qualifications.

Their ratings will continue to sink because they don’t cater to us like Fox does to their viewers. Cable news is not network news it’s entertainment with a whole lot of opinion and very little news. You cannot run a 24/7 cable news show on just straight news. No one would watch it so this is what you get. A whole lot of mess and an ignorant public.

As long as they are not held accountable, suffer no significant consequences, given token push back, and believe their privileged status is not threatened, the McConnell’s will continue to do and say whatever….because as far as they can see, *they can*!

True, which is why I’m crossing fingers and toes in hopes voters will tell them ‘You can’t anymore’ in 2014.’

      • October 14, 2014 at 3:48 pm

That would definitely send a message. The question is, are they so dense that they won’t get it? And would the message me lost in the lucrative “job” they’ll probably get as a consolation prize?

I’m at the stage where I’m not too worried about their new lucrative jobs (like Cantor’s for example) if they do not have as direct a contact on the average person’s life.

Ebola diagnosed in cameraman working with NBC

      ——————————–

Dr. Nancy Snyderman, NBC News chief medical editor and correspondent, talks live from Monrovia, Liberia with Rachel Maddow about the photojournalist working with an NBC team in Liberia, who has been diagnosed with Ebola, and what next steps they’ll take.

The thing is that she self quarantined herself and then broke her pledge.
The ABC doctor who was in Liberal and who spotted an Ebola infected man almost taken by the undertakers, but with his trained eyes, noticed that he was still alive, didn’t quarantine himself and was on Live TV hours after his return from Liberia reporting the News on ABC Nightly News..

It is Dr Nancy that brought the scorn on herself and crew……Damaging her credibility and whatever little credibility left for the NBC News.

      • October 14, 2014 at 4:14 pm

The CDC can issue protocols to prevent an ebola epidemic; protocols, that if strictly followed could very well work. But when you have people like Snyderman, who take it upon themselves to self-diagnose and determine that they don’t have to follow protocol, that’s where the problems come into play.

“Thanks to the Russian channel’s work we now have a rare chance to compare the damage from cannon fire on aircraft to the damage done to MH17. Based on the Russian channel’s own tests it seems clear that the entry holes visible in the above examples do not match what’s shown in the Russian channel’s own tests. It seems that rather than prove MH17 was shot down by cannon fire as they claim, they’ve inadvertently provided evidence that it wasn’t.”

NEW YORK — “Meet the Press” host Chuck Todd stood by his recent comment that Kentucky Democratic Senate candidate Alison Lundergan Grimes “disqualified herself” by refusing to say who she voted for in the last presidential election, a remark highlighted by her Republican opponent, Mitch McConnell, in a new ad.

In a Tuesday email to The Huffington Post, Todd said that “campaigns that try to make others the issue are usually trying to avoid their own scrutiny.”

“I don’t take back my analysis,” Todd continued. “But no journalist likes to be used in a TV ad. It is cheap and likely useless. And McConnell has hidden himself from questions for months. This is a highly cynical campaign we are witnessing in Kentucky. Very uninspiring debate.”

Of course, Chuckie doesn’t take back his “analysis” – words are so loosely used these days! ‘And McConnell has hidden himself from questions for months’ << I bet he only added this bit because of all the clamour about his silly 'analysis'.

I am guessing that POTUS’ feelings about HRC are no warmer than her obvious animus towards him.

At PBO’s recent appearance at the Clinton Global Initiative, I thought The President’s “jokes” were a pointed knife that he inserted in Hillary and then pushed a little deeper and turned.

Here is a paraphrase of what PBO said,” I see Hillary is here. Looking all refreshed and rested, not like when she was circling the globe.”
Translation. Rested=out of work circling the globe=wasting the country’s time, accomplishing nothing we can see.

Then there was the part where he offered Chelsea a lift if she went into labor. And the follow-up about “how everybody is complaining about the traffic but I have no problem.”
Translation, I AM POTUS, you are not. Traffic parts, making way for me!!! Not you.

So when I hear that H is trying to steal the OBL win, I am not surprised.
Oh, and by the way, The Obama Administration got the ACA Done, not you, Lady Walmart.

Thanks for all the info today. And thanks, Donna for that clear analysis of MSNBC. We used to watch it, from Rev. Al, skipping T”weety, through Rachel and Lawrence. We don’t any more, and life is so much better. When my husband got sick about three months ago, he lost interest in watching, which was a relief for me, and now that he is getting better, he likes not having the shows on. MSNBC was fun when GWB was pres and they all attacked him……Olbermann used to say what we were thinking. But, evidently all they know how to do is ATTACK. They do not know how to wisely support, so this is why they are failing. Their purported audience is tired of them and their lies and spin.

Just read an article which is dealing with the potential reorganization of the station. Ronan definitely out, Chris Hayes, probably so, Ed, also….so, let’s see what happens.

NBC “news” has totally jumped the shark, as far as I’m concerned. Brian is almost as snarky as upchuck, Engle is a warmonger…..Martha Raddatz is a much better foreign correspondent.

    reports are that the DSCC has stopped airing ads against turtle in KY;

    True, I am not happy with Alison Grimes’ failure to defend Obamacare;

but I was hoping that Dems fight this one out up to the very end – I can’t stand turtle

That doesn’t mean they’ve conceded. They’ve probably shifted their strategy…traditional ads airing on TV and Radio are increasingly less effective these days compared to before.

Linda, sometimes that means that are using more funds for the ground game, which is really most effective in these final weeks.

    • October 14, 2014 at 5:07 pm

Linda I agree with hf2 and Jackie.

After last night’s debate, my sense is that the DSCC knows that Grimes is in good shape and will get big boosts from the Clintons over the next 2 weeks.

The Senate Democrats’ campaign arm has stopped running ads in Kentucky, as first reported by Roll Call, in what appears to be a calculated decision about where to prioritize their resources in the final stretch of the Senate races.
