Hello
!~
Congrats NCLB on #1 🙂
Thank you, Hopefruit!
Congrats on 1st NCLB!
Congrats NCLB 🙂
Substantial tweets, NW. Thank you!!
Thanks, Bob.
hello, TOD!
Now we have a so called journalist who can count. Great job, Count von Knoller!
Hey Hopef, when the whiners complain that PBO isn’t reaching out to voters, Markie-babie can set them straight with his number skill.
How many times is that that he has told us how many times PBO has done something?
+ moi, en retard as usual today.
Love the tweets, Nerdy. I am particularly pleased with the Pope’s words on inclusion and a bit of tolerance for every child of God. He is a promising Catholic Pope.
Thank yooooooooou Nerdy, another wonderful collection, you’re da best!
Thank yoooooooooooooou, Chiparoo.
Grimes and McConnell will have their first debate this evening. I’m curious to see how she handles it, so I might just tune in. 🙂 CSPAN is also airing it live.

You can also watch it here live – starting at 9PM Eastern Time, 8PM Central Time.

Just saw gas at $2.97/gal. That secret eco-terrorist Obama has failed again.
Please read this and retweet if you can – let your followers know that we are fully aware of what the media (both the right and left) are trying to do to our President and WHY they doing it – but most importantly, we WON’T ALLOW THEM TO DO IT OR GET AWAY WITH IT.
This is excellent Bob – thanks 🙂
🙂
My first reaction to that NewsHour tweet is ‘Ill-mannered little brother, Israel, has a tantrum and destroys his surroundings, and big brother, or daddy? USA has to repair or replace.’ [Can you tell I detest Bibi Netanyahu?]
Thank you, NerdyW, these tweets are all quite informative/meaningful.
You’re welcome, VC.
I sure hope she does better than on the so-called “interview” I watched when all she did was give talking points that she had learned by rote.
Agreed
Hi Dudette – nice to “see” you – I have been so busy lately have been missing the late night music – I will be back 🙂
Hi 99ts! I’ve been in same boat too lately. Just pop in when I can.
Personally, I spell it “grey”. But I’m elitist that way.
Evening all.
😎
O, Dudette, I have to pass this comment on to you as it rightfully belongs to you. I passed on that link you shared in the village recently.
“A classical clarinetist of colour!! :O You don’t see that too often!! Way cool! Thanks for sharing, Mom!!”
(See, I may not listen to instrumental music but every once in a while I pass one of your (and Lib_l’s) offerings along to a more appreciative audience.)
Hiya VC! Glad you noticed, but that wasn’t just ANY clarinetist. That was Anthony McGill, one of the (if not THE) top clarinetists in the country!
😀
He’s played for POTUS several times, most notably at Jan 2009 inaug. You might remember this…
I didn’t know that – will pass his name to offspring along with this current vid. (Seriously I don’t know how you keep all this music stuff in your brain and at your fingertips.)
Tee-hee! Google is a friend of mine! 😀
Btw, here’s Anthony’s website. Offspring might want to check it out:
http://www.anthonymcgill.com/
He just left his principal position at the Metropolitan Opera to take that position at the NY Philharmonic last month.
You mean Google is a BFF of yours.! When *I* go to google, I can easily spend 20 minutes fiddling around and still end with nothing meaningful to validate my effort. Frustrates me no end, I tell you!!!! 😀
Beautiful image. Well done on the “24 years ago” part.
Of course, unless they gave back the entire land mass that is now South Dakota … uhm …
Don’t want to spam TOD, but I really think this is a great article from Spandan!
Not spam. It is a good article. Also, too, I read it and retweeted when you first shared. Also, three, I have been keeping a closer daily eye on The People’s View lately and sharing some of the solid reporting I find there.
Thanks VC!

I am completely confused as to why the President always seems to be the only person in the US who can shut down media b.s. on any issue. Every other politician seems to ramp up the b.s. and encourage the continuous lies the media spreads.
States might as well remove their governors – every time they have an issue – be it minor or major – they scream for the President to “fix it”.
THIS IS IMPORTANT — Please share!!!
Sorry for the duplicate. Was trying to post this!
Way to go, Dudette! You opened a new door I hadn’t noticed, so of course I walked right in. 😀
Yay VC! 😀
These are excellent, Dudette!!! Thank you
Thanks Bob! 🙂
I abandoned NBC nightly news over a year ago When Brian Williams had a pundit on to talk about PBO’s emotions. That did it for me. His job is to present the news and not analyze. I have switched to David Muir since he has been on.
Haven’t watched NBC nightly news in YEARS, myself. They’re all dead to me.
So to speak.
THIS. Don’t watch any of them. “News” has completely lost its meaning.
I agree. Used to be great watching some of the previous news anchors, but no more.
This matters in KY ….
Busted! 😀
WEASEL!!
This may be so, but why is Alison focused on that in the moments before the debate? In the more recent weeks I actually see her responses as very simplistic/childish – IMO she should be making more substantive points instead of reacting to Mitch’s do’s and don’ts.
I don’t see her as ‘taking charge’ at all at this point in the contest. In fact, from the little I’ve been seeing Grimes seems to be ‘nit-picking’ instead of stepping forward with a confident grasp of where she wants to take Kentucky. Anyway, I still want Mitch to lose.
She is not impressive – and yet she still has a chance – be fun if Mitch lost – then GOP will have lost house and senate leaders
Then my hope is that Grimes makes the most of her chance as Mitch would be gloat king if he were to be returned to office.
He’s such a typical #KOCHSTER jerk ….
What a worthless cowardly POS he is. I’m surprised he used the dark and scary backdoor.
They have the Arkansas debate instead.
fab tweets on both threads, ut.
Thank you, Amk.
Only had 15 min to watch … back on conf call in 2 min … will check in later for a recorded version ….
Very annoying…I missed the first 15 minutes…
The House of Commons backed the move “as a contribution to securing a negotiated two-state solution” – although less than half of MPs took part in the vote.
The result, 274 to 12, is symbolic but could have international implications.
Government ministers abstained on the vote, on a motion put forward by Labour MP Grahame Morris and amended by former Foreign Secretary Jack Straw.
Middle East Minister Tobias Ellwood said Britain reserved the right to recognise Palestine when it is “appropriate for the peace process”.
In 2012 the UN General Assembly voted to upgrade the Palestinians’ status to that of “non-member observer state”.
The assembly voted 138 to nine in favour, with 41 nations – including the UK – abstaining.

Anyone watching the debate? Any idea what this means?
No, sorry, not watching and now my head’s about to explode.
Sorry about that, buddy. I guess we should just be glad we’re not in Kentucky.
Nothing for you to be sorry about, for sure! And, yes, very glad I’m not there.
I can’t watch these things so I’ll wait for the summary. Wanting Grimes to win but not having been impressed with what I’ve seen of her to date, I fear I’d put the worst interpretation on whatever she said that was not 100% behind PBO. I’m going to pretend for the next month that I believe she knows her electorate best.
I can’t stomach watching it, either. I think I just need to look the other way as far as KY is concerned.
Like you I want the win, but don’t want to see the details because I suspect all that would do is raise my disdain for Ms Grimes….and Kentuckians.
This is SAUSAGE MAKING on steroids.
Sad. True. And more easily recognizable because we have been students of the best politician in our lifetime!
” I’m going to pretend for the next month that I believe she knows her electorate best.”
Ditto … based on comments I’m seeing here, as I scan them quickly while on my conf call, I won’t be watching a recorded version of the debate, either.
O you can bet on the fact that I won’t be doing THAT, Bfr! I cannot stomach these faux politicians, now that PBO has shown what the real thing is. A snippet here and there is all I can take of *them*, and the snippet has to be vetted by the reporters here whom I trust. 😉
I think it’s the case that we really just have to close our eyes and hope for the best on this one.
Agree VC and meta.
Just noticed these tweets, so perhaps we will be happy, along with President Obama, watching Mitch ditch on 4 Nov …..
😀 😀 😀
LOL!
This reply from the aspiring Democratic senator doesn’t inspire confidence nor interest. Will skip this one.
THANK YOU.
Exactly.
Rock on, Mr FURST Amk 😉
Excellent tweet, amk.
Wendy crushed Abbott during their debate and Goddard knows it and knows she’s got all the momentum, now.
Taegan Goddard is a Chuck Todd wannabee. He fancies himself a top level political pundit hoping to make the big bucks. I would tell him that, except that last time I did, he blocked me forever.
watched the ad in question;
I thought it focused on the “I-got-mine-so-don’t-care-about-you-all” attitude of the gop
WTG NCLB.
Gold is indeed, your Gem.
Congrats.
Guy on Twitter is telling me Grimes made McConnell “look useless” during the debate. (I cannot watch myself. Life’s too short!)
she came across as smart and the adult in the room. moderator was a total republican tool letting mitch spew the talking points like a robot, but grimes kept her cool and got her points in. not an easy position for her to be in, yet she might’ve won over some mushy middle people.
Glad to hear it!
i just saw the second half and that’s what my spouse and i thought. i didn’t see the wisconsin debate the other night, but sounds like it was similar, where the republican scott walker bumbled through the standard-issue talking points with no pushback from the mods, and mary burke was smart and strong. we’ve got some really intelligent female candidates around the country that i’m sure if we had any actual journalism happening anymore at major papers and tv stations, they’d all be well in front. “the news” of today is killing this country.
Barack Obama was right when he said “We are the ones we’ve been waiting for” !!! Forget “the news.” We’ll get the word out. And, hopefully, GET OUT THE VOTE, in every state!
yes indeed!
GE TOD.
So the KY debate is done.
I would take Grimes over McDonnell. It is sad that Pigmentation is the issue in KY and has been since 2008.
I don’t want to generalize…..but so few many Southerners don’t mind speaking their dislike of a person of color……with a drag on slow accent while denying their conscious and subconscious bigotry in the same sentence.
Pardon me, I meant no disrespect.
It is the truth about the mass of Southern whites. The numbers and the behaviors don’t lie.
I used to be a nice person.
I think overall Grimes did a good job and McConnell sounded like an old recording from the 19th century. If I were a Kentuckian, I would vote for Grimes with no hesitation as a Dem.
Having said that, I still take great objection to Grimes’ starting this divisiveness about “Clinton Democrat vs Obama Democrat” and therefore being forced to defend it at every instance, when the real issues of focus should be McConnell’s bad and harmful policies for Kentuckians and 30 years of utter uselessness in the Senate. If Grimes does win the Senate, I hope she can find the courage to work to overcome some of that racism in the state. Because it will come back to hunt her – when you tolerate and accommodate these malignancies in the short run, you have to deal with them in the long run – otherwise they will destroy you.
Can you hear me clapping? If not, I’ll clap louder. Well said.
Joining the applause …..
So much demonstrated success on the part of POTUS in every realm in the last 6 years but racism has such a stranglehold on their thinking and their attitudes, they cannot claim or tout any of this obvious success. It’s INSANE.
I tuned in but Turtle was moving his mouth so I had to bail. Glad that she did well. Agree with you on her stance on voting for POTUS but if I lived in Kentucky I would be pulling the lever for any candidate with a (D) after his/her name.
Your insight is always spot on hf – thank you
Your summation is impressive and comforting. KY has a Dem advantage in Registration. If they voted by facts…….Grimes should win. Only time will tell. This is their Only debate.
Check this fella’s Twitter bio ….
Interesting ….
I thought with all the twitter insanity the past few daysthat the Wendy Davis ad, while true, might be portrayed in an uncomfortable way. However, I just watched it and it’s well done imo.
Good. I’m getting so shaky this close to the election, I find I can’t allow myself to watch half the stuff! So, thanks for the feedback.
Wendy is a class act. She will win.
She did a great job.
I am watching my recording now Meta. The only thing this boils down to is PBO’s “Race”. I am going to tell it like it is. I don’t care what anyone says. Sam Stein can kiss my a@@ also.
The Democrats use PBO to raise money and are to weak to get out there and tout the economic growth, whether folks feel it or not. A lot of folks feel it. This was a good segment, but it just made me more angry at these weak Democrats who won’t stand up for their accomplishments.
Dems are making a grand miscalculation if they think dissing PBO or ignoring his amazing achievements is a winning formula. This will backfire big time.
The party as a whole is not anti-Obama. Certain PUMAS in the party are (and many in the media come from that faction).
Hearing that Panetta is now working for an organization run by Hillary’s campaign manager and that their strategy is to separate from Obama makes me so mad. It will make it so much harder if she is the Dem candidate to vote for her. I read the choice may be GOP or GOP Lite. I think Corporate Owned fits both. Guess it means work my sore butt off for Joe, Martin, or another potential alternative to Hillary.
well grandmom…I would not worry about it too much…her strategy did not work the 1st time….after November we will see what’s what…keep our eyes on the prize…..
Those who may wish to listen to THE KY Senate debate…..
Here it is:
Fascinating ….. another tweet from a Kentuckian ….
…. do check his Twitter bio …
Just an observation…if Turtle is slinking out the back, he’s acting defeated already…or he’s hiding something from the people of KY. I don’t think that fact will be lost on them.
Yep.
😎
McConnell is now hiding under his wife’s shirt?
