I know damn well Paul Krugman didn’t say that President Obama was a more consequential President than President Clinton. If Krugman keeps this up he’s not going to get invited to Hillary’s inauguration should she get elected. You know how people act when they don’t get invited to an inauguration.

For Nena, Jovie, and others interested in SD Senate race, some schadenfreude:

    which links to:
Sioux Falls Argus Leader: “The political world outside of South Dakota learned some stunning news last week: Mike Rounds, the guy everybody assumed would be the next senator from South Dakota, actually has been running a campaign more suited for sheriff of Mayberry County than U.S. Senate.”

Thanks…….This race has had my interest since June of 2014. Ed Schultz got my interest then. I started writing about it here in July or August calling it my Cinderella Race…..

Since there are 3 men running for the open senate seat, I now call it Cenderfella after the Jerry Lewis Movie of 1963.
Pressler or Weiland. I am hoping Weiland takes…..it.

After watching his interview on Up w/ Kornacki this morning. I agree. I like Weiland

      • October 12, 2014 at 6:20 pm

Shouldn’t one of them drop out and endorse the other?

          October 12, 2014 at 7:40 pm

Weiland has been running now for almost 18 months. Dems didn’t even give him a chance to win. Pressler has just started running just some moths ago. So if Presser would like to drop out….cool. But Not Weiland…….IMHO. Sure, it will be nice……but I say, let them figure it out themselves. Rounds has serious problems. If Weiland keeps working hard, he has the momentum……I think.

Oct 11 (Reuters) – Members of an NBC News crew who worked with a cameraman who contracted Ebola in Liberia have been quarantined, New Jersey health officials said on Saturday.

Officials said the order was issued late Friday after the crew members violated an agreement to voluntarily confine themselves. They said none of the team has exhibited symptoms of the often fatal disease since returning from Liberia, one of three West African countries at the epicenter of the outbreak.

    Fantastic Tweets.
    Little Nigel is just precious.
The Feminist Twitpics with Black Females……I didn’t see Dr Malveaux(sp), she used to run an all Female College in either IN or NC. I can never forget seeing her on C-SPAN Journal Morning show……she was there with one sorry arse rightie. She out smarted the fool. The fool got so testy, rambled off and made the mistake of calling the Dr lady, or some crack. Dr M was not having it and after making her point, firmly school the SOB on her proper Name and Title. It was great.

We financially support Israel with approximately one billion annually which primarily goes to their military, which then bombs Gaza killing approximately 2000 citizens including over 500 children and destroying the city and then within weeks we provide 200 million to rebuild Gaza. Rebuild buildings. But of course the dead women and children are still dead. Makes sense.

Ferguson, Mo has a population of just over 21,000 and 53 police officers. In their 2012-13 budget year fines & fees assessed against residents exceeded 2.6 million dollars.

    $2,600,000 / 53 = $49,056 per officer per year.

    $49,056 / 12 = $4,088 per officer per month.

    $4,088 / 4 = $1,022 per officer per week.

    $1,022 / 5 = $204 per day given a five day
    work week.

That’s $25 in collected fines and fees per hour given an 8 hour work day.

    or

$49,056 / 365 = $135 on average per officer for each and every day of the year.

Does this excuse any officer who behaved less than fully professional toward Ferguson residents? No, but imagine the pressure on officers to find offenses and make the charges stick. Imagine how officers must have blamed residents because they believe authority–including their own bosses–should never be questioned. Imagine the absolute lack of human compassion because caring would be counter-productive. Then add institutionalized, historic racism into the mix and imagine the daily lives of area residents.

I want to pass this article on to all of you, possibly you’ve already seen it/heard of it… I tweeted it to FBI and Justice. Its regarding a 17 year old AA boy who was found hung in NC.. and is being called a suicide by authorities- it happened 5 weeks ago. It is VERY suspicious and the parents believe he did not hang himself. Please tweet too if you agree that the Justice Dept should see this. Evening all!

Spent all day at a fair representin’ the library. We gave away a load of stuff, so that cleared off my shelves. And even though I mostly sat on my tuchis, apparently doing so in the sun can be rather tiring.

As for my sleep with the CPAP? It’s going AMAZING. I’m already using it all night without taking it off until I wake up in the morning. And I’m not having to sleep in late on my days off because I’m getting such restful sleep. So what if I sound like Darth Vader? Unlike him, I get to sleep restfully. So VC? You should really look into it. If you have sleep apnea, that’s nothing to mess with. It can lead to high BP, heart disease, stroke, diabetes, and so on. If I can get used to the machine in literally two days, you can too.

Dear John McCain…Really? Fear mongering about stuff you don’t know about or care to understand.

    http://www.abc15.com/news/national/cdc-protocol-breach-in-treating-ebola-patient

Top federal health officials said Sunday that the Ebola diagnosis in a health care worker who treated Thomas Eric Duncan at a Texas hospital clearly indicates a breach in safety protocol.

But the unidentified worker has been unable to pinpoint where that breach might have occurred, according to Dr. Tom Frieden, head of the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.

“A single inadvertent slip can result in contamination,” he said during a briefing.

He said the CDC has recommended that the hospital where the worker is being treated — and where Duncan died Wednesday — should keep “to an absolute minimum” those who care for Ebola patients and should perform only those procedures that are essential to a patient’s treatment.

The agency also called on the hospital to put in place a “full-time individual responsible for oversight of infection control.”
