Sharing my Affordable Care Act (aka Obamacare) recent Happy Dance re: No rate increases for my medical plan for 2015, dental rate decreased, while the Benefit Maximum more than doubled, yea!!). in the last 3 months, I have had a flu shot, a mammogram, and a blood test, all without co-pays. My yearly dental X-Rays scheduled for December is also without any other costs. Finally, the one medication that I take is only 1.81 $ for a month’s supply. When I retired in the summer of 2013, my biggest financial concern was the cost of health care (I am under 65 and single) that I would be directly responsible for for the first time (it was an employee benefit prior to this). It has been manageable so far, thanks, in part, to the ACA. When I received the news that there would be no rate increases for 2015, I was greatly relieved. I love Obamacare and the man who brought it to us. I am always so tickled that the term that the GOPers used as a pejorative, has instead insured that PBO would forever get credit for this law that has begun to transform the health and well-being of our nation.
When you proudly proclaim to be a “Clinton Democrat” after all the scandals the Clintons were involved in; but run away from the question of whether you voted for President Barack Obama, you have to admit it’s not his name you’re running away from. It’s the color of his skin. We see you, Candidate Grimes.
Lesson from the @AlisonForKY bobble: if you want to beat a Republican, yes you need indies. But you REALLY need Democrats to vote for you.
Judith: “I’ve attached my speech so you know what I said today to merit a hug and kiss from V.P. Joe Biden. It was lovely to have the opportunity to tell him about his ardent fan club at The Obama Diary. He signed my ticket!!”
“We know actions taken by volunteers to register voters and get them to exercise their precious right to vote make a critical difference.
Holding house parties and neighborhood events to raise many small dollar donations will beat the Koch Brothers’ and Karl Rove’s dark money Super Pacs like it did in Jeff Merkley’s first Senate race and in electing and re-electing Obama/Biden.
We need to give them a Congress that will work with them to pass progressive legislation instead of throwing a monkey wrench into the gears of government.
Don’t ride the roller coaster of polls or be depressed by the mainstream media focus on every bit of dismal news.
Don’t boo: VOTE!
Oregon ballots drop on October 15th. We must ramp up our efforts NOW. Before you leave today, pledge to speak to every 18-30 year old in your family circle to make sure they are registered at their current Oregon address by October 14th.
Throw a Voter’s Guide party to discuss the critical importance of voting for Democrats up and down the ticket and collecting a few donations for GOTV.
Sign up for a shift of calling our target voters from one of the campaign offices and/or knocking on doors of people we need to vote.
Together, we will give Jeff Merkley the biggest margin of victory ever and send him back to the Senate to do the people’s, not the corporations’ work.
THANK YOU!”
