    The DNC will have to pay for all his AF-1 flights and stays at hotels?
    Usually, and bc of hatch act, the president will put an public event on the schedule, to circumvent the hatch act.
    This is not the case- this week!

    I disagree with Jovie. Local polls in Wisconsin have the race for governor tied. I think it would be a mistake to base a race on one poll when the best polling outfits show a close race.

      A little over a year ago, I recall agreeing with everything you posted about Syria.

      Wonder if you’ve got any thoughts you’d like to share about the current ISIS/ISIL barbarism currently headlined by MSM/Koch

      • October 5, 2014 at 10:22 am

        I think ISIS is not at the Mexican border and is fostered by Big oil.
        And something tells me that because of Russian Ties to big oil,would not be surprised if they’re funding them covertly.

    • October 5, 2014 at 10:23 am

      But Kochs pour unlimited amounts of money in that race.

    Pope Francis and more than 200 senior bishops are meeting at the Vatican to discuss some of the most controversial issues affecting the Catholic Church.

    They will be joined by lay Catholics to debate abortion, contraception, homosexuality and divorce.

    The extraordinary synod lasts two weeks and a follow-up meeting will be held next year.

    Pope Francis said on Saturday that he wanted bishops to really listen to the Catholic community.

    He said he hoped they would have a “sincere, open and fraternal” discussion that would respond to the “epochal changes” that families were living through.

    Last year, a global survey launched by Pope Francis suggested that the majority of Catholics reject Church teaching on issues such as sex and contraception.

    Somali government troops backed by African Union forces have captured a key stronghold of al-Shabab Islamists, local officials say.

    The regional governor told the BBC that he was in the centre of Barawe, about 200km (125 miles) south of Mogadishu.

    The government now controls all the seaports along the coast of Somalia, blocking off supply lines.

    The AU says al-Shabab, who had held the town for six years, used it as a base to launch attacks on the capital.

    Residents said many of the al-Qaeda-aligned militants had begun withdrawing from the key port town on Friday.

    ///

    Al-Shabab has lost control of several towns in the past month, but still controls large swathes of territory in rural areas.

    The BBC’s Emmanuel Igunza says the news is a significant blow to al-Shabab because they had used Barawe as a supply route for weapons and food and as a base for a lucrative charcoal business.

    I see FLOTUS will be campaigning for Governor Quinn on Tuesday. Yea!!! I will LOSE IT if Bruce Rauner wins as he will run the state like Walker does up in Wisconsin. Quinn has had a rough go of it here with a lot of Dem infighting in Springfield, a Dem controlled legislature with a massive budget deficit and Rauner being similar to $$omney but with charisma. Rauner’s wife is a Democrat and his ads have featured her talking about that. I have a very good friend who literally introduced me to Obama when he was still Senator who is going to vote for Rauner because they are neighbors and their wives are friends. But I’m still working on him.

    These poll averages have Quinn up by 1.5% with the most recent being a Rasmussen poll. Still a toss up but hopeful he can close it out. FLOTUS showing up supporting him will be a big big thing.

      Something tells me that MP would LOVE this video.

      One thing I noticed when I was hiking in Alaska — black bears have so much bounty (think: salmon spawning, berries on every bush imaginable, etc.) that they pose little danger to humans. Saw several mom with cubs, but they seemed content to feast and ignore the noisy humans.

      Grizzlies, on the other hand, no way. They’re extremely dangerous, and two or three times the size of black bears. Fortunately, did not see any of them — I think they prefer the greater isolation of the extreme north, and the furthest north I went was Fairbanks, which I loved.

      question: how in the world did they get inside the box in the first place?

      • 70 forus50
        October 5, 2014 at 11:49 am

        That’s what I was wondering too. I can’t see it in the video but most of these dumpsters have a round hollow pipe shaped attachment on the exterior that the trucks can latch onto to raise it. Perhaps the cubs jumped on that first and then the top of it.

        seems as though the outside of the box has some “handles” or kinds of extensions which they may have used ;

        youngster across all species have a way of getting themselves into all kinds of “trouble” as the they experiment & satisfy their inquisitive nature!
