It’s very show, Chips, and I have to take a lot of gunk every day, but I’m feeling less discouraged by it all. After the president’s speech to the Hispanic Caucus Gala, I decided to order a large sheet cake for our Salsa the Vote event and have the words PBO spoke, “Si Podemos, Si Votamos” written on it. Might as well reinforce a message with every mouthful of cake. Wish I could save you and all my TOD friends a piece.
Ah, what a perfect cake – you’ll have to give me the recipe 🙂 (Hush, VC).
Good to hear you’re feeling less discouraged, just hoping you can shake this off, it must be so debilitating.

Yes. I say this would make a good alternate avatar for when you are ……. dis-grunt-tled, so poor vc’s brain won’t get that jangle after it processes your happy, smiling face, then gets jarred by a frowning comment. This is all about vc’s brain, you understand?
I could create a GIF with a beaming PBO transformed in to a concerned PBO and back in to a beaming PBO again.
That would prolly cause vc’s brain to explode. No thanks, love, I may criticize it often but she does need her brain. A simple and straightforward switch – no bells, no whistles – will do the job!

It’s interesting to me that only certain types of (gif) movements cause the dizzy effect. This one’s okay and so have all the ones you’ve shared since we begged for mercy. I haven’t quite figured out yet if it’s only the shimmering ones that cause my brain to ‘tingle’, but I am appreciating your offerings.

Rather not start this day with a downer, yet we always say it’s good to know what’s “out there.” In the Prespectives (editorial/opinion) section of our paper today is this headline in huge print: Will Obama’s Mideast Blunders Cost Democrats the Senate? Written by John Dickerson, Slate. Bet the piece is also on Slate.com. I couldn’t stomach reading entire thing. I skimmed over it. Focus is on the redder states and Dems like Hagan and Shaheen and Udall, partly because they are all on the Armed Services Committee. He points out that most of them agreed with HC that the moderates should have been armed. Also a big focus on how the intelligence community started telling PO two years ago about ISIS and he ignored it. The ending talks about how many of the new Republican ads in these states are aimed at women being concerned about the national security. It is a total HIT piece. Hate starting my day like this!!! Another example of what LL wrote about last night.
Thanks, TN. From now until November, it’s going to be a full out attack on the president to depress Democratic turnout. It’s part of the media/GOP strategy and we have to be prepared for it. Republicans/media begin with no respect for women, so they believe that ‘mere’ women will react in fear rather than common sense.

On a roadie—–in Indy for a fam gathering for gr.babe’s 1st bday party yesterday. She is the sweetest, cutest, bestest little gal—trust me—-and a real trooper with all the hubbub at her housey. Can’t believe she’s walking (running) all over the place already—-wasn’t she just born a few days ago?—-and does the cutest little boogie whenever any music plays. Of course she got all these great gifts but guess what she liked best—–the balloons! And her ice cream cake!—–thought that invention was miraculous, kept opening her little mouth for one more delicious spoonful. Lots of laughs and fun!
Sounds like the best party ever, Dote-ster!!! Give a huggie to the grandbaby for us!!

During the (extremely looong) runup to the 2008 Presidential campaign, @latimes had a front-page article (that I now cannot locate) about Iowa’s progressive roots — and one of my best (progressive) friends graduated from Iowa State (originally from small-town Illinois).
Where are the local Dems in Iowa trumpeting the seemingly endless good domestic/economic news during the past 6 years (no need to bring up any issue that is remotely “divisive”)???
I cannot believe that the majority of the voting population of the politically astute state of Iowa would vote for the unqualified Ernst to represent them for the NEXT 6 years!
