According to Chris Hayes, a NBC free lance photographer has contracted the Ebola virus and is being evacuated to the US. I hope they don’t take him to Texas.

Okay, so I’m confused. I just came back from a friend’s ‘meet the teacher’ night (she had no wheels), my laptop says it’s 8:40pm, WH.GOV says coming up soon at 8:pm. What am I missing?

He spoke already and concluded his remarks about 8:15… I missed it too. But luckily for us, our Chips has kindly provided the video archive so we can access the speech!

So why is WH.GOV saying ‘Next Up’ = a deliberate attempt to mislead moi, I bet!

        Thanks for the clarification, Hf.

I missed it? I miss all of his speeches, it seems. Thank goodness for TOD…in the mean time I’m sitting here with headphones on….patiently waiting for a speech he gave already. I feel pathetic sometimes:)

Just saw PBO’s speech to the CHCI (missed it live, but had another tab opened to whitehouse.gov/live and it repeated itself!

If not for the tie (black/navy blue [?]), which wasn’t baby blue, PBO delivered this speech with same ferocity as he did 10 years ago as John Kerry’s keynote speaker.

Check it out. He looked the same to me, except with a little bit more fire.

JackieG — this should be run on a loop for any upcoming Latino outreach programs in your area.

Another speech for the ages — which happens at least once a week (didn’t see tweety when he claimed PBO is “lazy” — have no idea how Matthews could have dreamed up that adjective).

I just watched it too, arapaho415. I’m glad he gave a “when” for IR EO’s [between the mid-term election and the end of the year].

But more so, I’m glad he explained the limitations of EO’s and how much more effective and lasting legislation would be. Short: GOTV

Arapaho, I was thinking the same thing–getting it on a loop and playing it at our Salsa the Vote event.

Chipsy-whispy, I thank you for having the speech handy for us latecomers. Much appreciated.

I love the way the President is approaching each audience with facts that speak directly to their part in accomplishing certain goals – none of that sugar-coating stuff; no pretense that he can do it all alone! Therefore, they will have no excuse for moaning and groaning if *they* don’t ante up the votes.

Yesterday I told you all the next government agency to be hit hard would be the CDC.
    I was right …
Today, the MSM are blaming the US government for a man lying on a health form in Liberia.
In particular, the CDC and homeland security.
One case equals no more CDC to these fuck heads in the media.

I am so glad the president is calling Republicans out and making it crystal clear that an EO is limited and can be overturned by another president. It amazes me how few people actually understand how laws are made and how much the Republican-led House has stymied progress on immigration. Lashing out at the president will not improve the life of one single immigrant or Dreamer. Voting for a Democratic Congressperson or senator will. We have to keep explaining this over and over again until we make ourselves hoarse. Sadly, we live in a country where the ‘process’ of government is a mystery to people. They understand what a president is and, more vaguely, a governor, but try explaining the difference between a state rep and a US Congressperson and you get a blank stare.

I only wish PBO was as omnipotent as some seem to believe he is. We are often sarcastic when we talk about things being Obama’s fault. But sadly, there are those that believe that he can make things happen with the swipe of a pen. You’re right, JackieG. There are too many that do not understand how a law is made, even at an elementary level.

Schoolhouse Rock [I’m Just a Bill] needs to be on constant loop.

Figure of speech. They’re scrambling around talking about closing all airport and roads into the state. Typical knee jerk reaction. ……All they have to do is what Nigeria did but alas, Texans are much better than Nigerians, I guess.

Just like the stupid ass lie the media were trying to shove down our throat that if the election were held today Romney would be elected.

    Keep us posted.

If any state needs a Dem governor, it’s Oklahoma.

Yes, we need a Dem governor. People’s healthcare is a mess here, and insurance is more expensive than it should because of her actions with regard to the ACA and refusing Medicaid. She has really messed things up. She is not bright, frankly, but can “talk the talk”…if you watched the debate, notice the shiny cross she wore around her neck! I didn’t watch. I cannot stand to listen to her!!!

Texas also needs a Demo governor…..this Ebola incident shows what terrible shape they are in, and once again, their governor refused the Medicaid money!! I hate all this because my son and family live there……

I’ll keep you posted. No incumbent governor should be just two points ahead at this time.
