I saw all the news suddenly blast this – it’s like they were waiting to nail him with something…. Meanwhile, the GOP in congress continue to get away with worse crimes!
Politically speaking — just now getting back into the flow after about a year of much-needed hibernation, pleasantly interrupted by our very own Eric Cantor’s defeat and Governor McDonnell conviction. We shall see what November will bring…
Thanks to you and the TOD family for keeping this space running.
Her dress is just as I imagined it would be. A simply elegant dress. She was a stunning bride and that guy on her arm ain’t bad either. Be still my beating heart! Sigh!!
Now the reason for the GOP outrage comes out. The Congressional picnic was held on the WH grounds two days before the September 19th incident and congressional members and *their* families were there.
Excellent Tweet Donna. I hope, wish and pray that many will Get up and Stand up and VOTE. Hong Kong is out there saying No to China. Ferguson has finally woken up. C’mon America…..Wake up and Vote.
It’s disgusting how the WaPo is releasing this story drip by drip. They seem to have a sick fascination with spewing intimate details of the White House security, building plan, and other information that should be kept private so as to protect the First Family from any other nut job.
EXACTLY…people are getting bogged down in the minutiae of the WaPo reports, while missing the big picture – which is the WaPo’s perverse obsession with reporting this story in the most sensationalist fashion, not out of concern for the First Family’s safety, but out of a desire to facilitate the GOP’s desire for revenge against PBO and any of his appointees, and their desire to reduce public trust in his ability to maintain reliable security both at home and abroad.
I, agree with you NW, HF, and the other commenters here, I find all these reports coming from WP ill advised and coming to believe well- coordinated with some in congress. This seems more an attack on the administration, than the fact the President and his family were threatened.
This actually is a bright spot of news. There are so many concerning issues about these recent breaches. I hate the drip drip and the way it’s being used against the president. No one was hurt or killed and it’s not a terrorist attack. I’m sure serious reviews are going on.
Julie Zickefoose is a knowledgeable, compassionate naturalist. I highly recommend her for anyone wanting to read about the natural world and our human place in it. Her writing is lyrical as well as informative and today she wrote about a visit to a Moravian cemetery in Pennsylvania. How different our world would be if they had prospered and their ideas taken up by everyone.
….Moravians (from the easternmost part of the Czech Republic) came to America in the mid 1700’s thanks to religious persecution at home, and they set up a peaceful community in eastern Pennsylvania that honored everyone no matter the color of their skin….
….This one arrested me. It’s doubtful that a mixed-race person would have received a place in many cemeteries at this time, in any other spot but here in this Moravian community. I bet she was beautiful, at 15….

Nice try making this about PBO and his hires….God alone knows how many of these historic “failures” we didn’t hear about….because no one was killed, injured or near-assassinated.
The most surprising thing is that @WesleyLowery WORKS FOR WaPo!!!
Your theory about Omar Gonzalez being a SS plant is gaining credence.
The leaking of details that is no one’s business (especially those who wish to do harm to the US and our beloved President Obama and the First Family) is indefensible.
And Omar Gonzales had a leg/ankle injury which required that he walk with a cane?
And the SS staff who purposely DID NOT notice Gonzalez scaling the WH fence??? (Shown on tourist video in yesterday’s WaPo story.)
And the do-nothing Congress who suddenly have a hearing on the FIRST BUSINESS (for Congress) DAY after the WaPo leak?
My hope is that legitimate journalists will smell a rat and pursue the real culprits — the WaPo mole/aider and abettor inside the SS.
Caution…..per Josh Earnest, a great portion of what WashPost wrote about the SS were already what were to be made public at the hearing today. So I am not sure how Deep or Secretive the Post can claim now. Now were they the 1st to go all in and report these SS mistakes in detail…..Yes.
However, this still does not answer the question of how Issa/Chaffetz acted so quickly.
WaPo’s article about 2011 appeared over the weekend; this Congress hasn’t acted quickly on anything (they usually *re*act), so something lit a fire under Issa/Chaffetz, or they had inside info from WaPo/WaPo mole…
Posturing for election. They did Nothing over the years…..in 2011 and after the Prostitution cases. These mofos know their base loath the Obamas. This is another way for them to show….see, the hate is nationwide……and in my twisted theory……., they enjoy the misfortunes of what Pres Obama is going through. These mofos from UT and CA are gleeful and they are enjoying themselves……another Fed Gov’t Agency in crisis to prove to their followers that Gov’t isn’t working and The President is at fault. The SS is under the Executive Umbrella.
I have tears in my eyes Yardarm! Something about all those truths coming out of the mouths of those precious children is especially powerful. This is beautifully done. I am passing on the YouTube to f&f and going to get a t-shirt for sure!!!
That line about “all this focus on race makes me uncomfortable” reminded me about a recent experience.
I had a friend of a client say something to me not long ago about how she didn’t like 12 Years a Slave because she said it “didn’t show anything new, just all of these beatings.” She was visibly angry when talking about it and actually said “I get it, we are all terrible people.” I asked her what she meant by “we” (knowing full well what she meant) and she replied “uh, Americans.”. This was after I had told her that I hadn’t see the movie yet because one of my ancestors was also a free man of color and was kidnapped and sold (he was lucky and escaped). I told her that just seeing a scene from the movie was so difficult knowing that my ancestor had been through that same ordeal. It was like she didn’t even hear what I said, she was only thinking of her own anger – anger at the victims because two hours of truth made her feel uncomfortable!
Funny thing is, before that I had assumed she was a nice/cool person, because the client she is friends with is absolutely down and gets it. After that conversation, a wall went up and I will never have a sincere conversation with her again.
One by one, those lifted up by the GOP are crashing and burning. I have special contempt for A-A’s who have supposedly “made it” who allow themselves to be puffed up and used by the GOP as a weapon against their community. They slavishly serve those who hold them in contempt. If this was during the time of slavery, Dr. Ben would have been one of those who alerted the Slave holders when there were escapes. People like him like basking in the false warmth of attention and being the “only one.” From J. C. Watts, to Michael Steele, Condoleeza Rice, and now, Dr. Carson, we have seen this show many times.
The Washington Post published an opinion piece claiming that “retired U.S. Army Lt. Col. Allen West would be perfect” to take over as head of the embattled Secret Service because of his “managerial and diplomatic skills.” West, who was forced out of the military, that same day called President Obama a “charlatan” and urged the military to disobey his orders.
Former Secret Service agent and Marine Corps infantry officer Dan Emmett wrote a September 26 PostEverything piece surveying problems with the Secret Service and recommended that current director Julia Pierson be replaced with someone from the military, specifically “a true leader, not a bureaucrat.” He then lobbied for West, writing:
In this role, a true leader, not a bureaucrat, is needed. Someone like Florida congressman and retired U.S. Army Lt. Col. Allen West would be perfect for the role. West has successfully demonstrated that he possesses the leadership skills of a combat officer as well as managerial and diplomatic skills of a congressman, exactly the traits needed in the next director. Highly competent and beholden to no one in the Secret Service, he would be a superb director.
First isn’t WP owned by a RWN? Second, this is what SSDir JP and the previous director have had to deal with protecting the first AA President. This is why JP wants to be able to hire and terminate at will. These people hate the president and want to get close to him to do him harm. This constant attempt to assassinate President Obama and his Family is being led by the GOP domestic terrorist organization, known as the Republican Party. We are talking a significant increase in white hate groups and anti-gov’t groups, e.g. clive bundy. What they have in common is their hatred of the President.
Allen West? Didn’t threaten President Obama’s life? Isn’t there House Rethugs calling for the military to resign to send a message to PBO? What are these people smoking?
Ok let me get this straight. The Washington Post is pushing for a new SS director and they want a man who called President Obama a “charlatan” ?????!!!!!!!!!
It’s a well known fact that the Secret Service appreciate and respect the Obamas. The Obama family must feel comfortable, and respected. And republicans can’t have that, can they ?
I’m beginning to wonder if there is indeed a conspiracy to play dirty mind games with the President. Issa and his gang, factions of the military, and some people in the Washington Post going along.
““If now we are buying medicines and food for our people, soon we will have to do coal stoves and warm clothes,” Marina says. “We are thinking where we will get the coal… How many people do you think won’t survive the winter?”
The people of Donbas suddenly found themselves face to face with this strange, foreign world with upside-down values, where a careless step may get you in a torture room, where a mine can explode under your feet, where any time it can turn out you don’t have money for bread, where culture has been replaced by tenuous, deep silence.
Donbass has not become a “grey area”. Donbass has turned into a black field where nothing can grow. You can’t make life on this field, you can only make war. And despite this strange, nominal ceasefire, that veiled the eyes of Ukrainians and the whole world, the war in the otherwordly East continues.”
There once was a time that there were certain places your children could go and you had some degree of certainty that they would be safe. That certainty is diminishing daily.
I LOVE MY PRESIDENT!
Afternoon Truly Terrible Twins: Hopefruit and LL. Scary.
Best.Tod.Comment.Evah. 🙂 🙂
And SO accurate!!! 😆
Morning everyone.
A thought about oil prices crashing.
Perhaps this has been coordinated between the Arab states and the WH to take money away from ISIL. Part of the reason oil prices are nosediving is because of increased production from OPEC.
Good assessment, LL.

Howard Kurtz is Tweeting about the CNN/ORC poll?
Because the economy is doing very well under PBO – and the MSM cannot use the same narratives they did in 2010….

OT but………..!
They are telling it like it is.
AMEN!
Found it on youtube, Yardarm. Thanks for sharing this.
DMI. 😉
I have tears in my eyes Yardarm! Something about all those truths coming out of the mouths of those precious children is especially powerful. This is beautifully done. I am passing on the YouTube to f&f and going to get a t-shirt for sure!!!
Me too.
Did PBO flash a slice of pie in the PM’s face? Just for fun? LMAO! 🙂
HUH ? It is already tonight or is someone confused….He had lunch with VP Biden today, didn’t he ?
Here we go:
Obviously, that ruling ignored the ruling by the whole DC Court. Like the one before them, it is going nowhere.
Did the full court rule? How did I miss that?
On Sept 4th…..
DC Court agrees to rehear the the ruling on Subsidies.

Totally missed it. Thanks!
Sorry, Nena – the administration “won” by the full D. C. Court of Appeals agreeing to hear the case. There is no ruling yet.
Yes, you are right and I included that in my sentence before the link, 57andFemale.
Gotcha. My brain is mush today.
Issa is trolling for more fuel on this today as well. See my retweet below.

Take care Jovie.
{{{{{{{{Jovie}}}}}}}}} I know how you feel…….
My warmest wishes to you {{{{{Jovie}}}}}}. Be well and take care.
Light and love to you Jovie. I know what missing a furry family member is like.

More proof that the WP is turning right…..
Bezos is destroying this paper with dizzying speed.
Something stinks….

An another School shooting today…..this time, in KY.
There once was a time that there were certain places your children could go and you had some degree of certainty that they would be safe. That certainty is diminishing daily.
