Hi Chips. What mischief is Danny up to today?

        • September 29, 2014 at 12:12 pm

More cushion-eating, Judith. šŸ™„ I told him that I was going to allow him in to the front room from now on so he could snoop out the window, but that in return for that trust he had to promise not to eat the cushions. He agreed, and with that I saw him disappear around the corner in to the back garden with my fave orange cushion. I’m not sure if there will ever be trust in this relationship again.

My Kasper is a builder, not a destroyer. His cleverly designed man-cave has turned into a subdivision. He had to climb up pretty high to get some balls of yarn – for a dash of color, dontcha know. All manner of clothing ends up in his creation, from Mr. 57’s dirty socks to my carefully ironed clothes for work. However, it now takes up all of the free floor space in the bedroom. I stretched on tiptoe to try to reach the dresser this morning. After he vacated for a walk with Mr. 57 and Nickelby, I put the laundry basket upright and put everything back in it. That should keep him busy for a few days.

Then there’s the mountain of toys (actually just one mountain out an entire mountain range). he wants something buried in the middle of it but he doesn’t want to disturb it. Over the last 4 days, he has tunneled very carefully, moving one toy to one side, nosing another. He is determined.

Kasper is very busy. He has lots to do.

I told you! HE *****IS****** a genius!!!!! šŸ˜†

He is. He is a genius. He’s my little Leonardo daVinci.

Cindy thinks I should get an illustrator, and just write down my dog stories.

Speaking of Cindy, has she been around? I’ve been in and out, but I don’t remember posts by her recently. We really need a “TOD buddy system.”

            • September 29, 2014 at 12:26 pm

57, I am becoming more and more convinced that Kasper is an artistic genius – his designs clearly aren’t just chucked together, a lot of planning and imagination goes in to them. And who said dogs were color blind? -> “He had to climb up pretty high to get some balls of yarn – for a dash of color.”

Again, I would pay to watch live streaming of Kasper at work šŸ™‚

I joke about him, but he really extraordinary. He plans his creations, takes his time over a period of days. I’m getting much better about taking photos of him, but I need to practice video so I can catch him in the act. I will post some photos, although I didn’t write down amk’s instructions on how to do that. I have to remember, because amk is charging an arm and a leg these days for “consulting fees”.

          • September 29, 2014 at 1:15 pm

To keep my sanity, I’ve had to remind myself that despite her intelligence and those moments of obedience, and despite treating her as a member of the family, when all is said and done, my dog is still a dog. So I can’t get too angry at her when *I* leave something laying around and she sees it as a toy for her, or another science experiment and decides to dissect it. After I finish my rant, I have to accept it and hope that it’s not something too expensive or irreplaceable.

            • September 29, 2014 at 1:17 pm

šŸ™‚ You’re very forgiving swbluega. When Danny stole the cushion and wiggled his bum at me when I was chasing him, I did not see him as just a dog, I saw him as an all-knowing despot!

              • September 29, 2014 at 1:24 pm

Easy for me to be forgiving. My dog is long past the youthful puppy age of Danny. Her days of constant curiosity and having to put *everything* in her mouth has, for the most part, passed. But she has her moments of relapse at the most unexpected times. I think that’s her way of reinforcing the training she has given us; to give her the constant attention she feels she deserves.

Whether individuals are calling the partnered attacks against ISIL war or counter-terrorism, I want to believe that everyone has a problem with Congress being on vacation AGAIN.

And to top it off, there are some GOP congressmen who are urging military officers to rebel against President Obama — while they are screaming that we have to engage in a ground war.

    ======

“Congressional Republicans Urging Military Officers to Rebel Against Obama”

    View at Medium.com

    ——

Members of Congress have been talking to U.S. generals behind the scenes and urging them to publicly resign ā€œin a blaze of gloryā€ if they disagree with how the White House is handling conflicts in the Middle East, according to U.S. Rep. Doug Lamborn of Colorado.

The Republican member of the House Armed Services Committee made the remarks at a Sept. 23 liberty group meeting in the basement of a Colorado Springs bar … following a kilt-wearing contest.

“So whether its conservatives trying to twist the data to pretend like the country is turning against President Obama or liberals suggesting (once again) that he has lost “his base,” they are both opinions in search of facts to back them up. Lets bust that meme, shall we?”

    ***************************

I am so weary of these so-called liberals finding new ways in being disappointed in President Obama…and they are NOT his base…”WeThePeople” of the ObamaCoalition are his true base and we will Never abandon the President…

one more thing….these so-called liberals and rw conservatives are two sides of the same coin!

    • September 29, 2014 at 2:14 pm

Saying that President Obama has lost his base is so untruthful. For that to have happened, his base would have had to have been weak. We know that PBO’s base was and is strong. Therefore, as you said prettyfoot, what is being called PBO’s lost base was never truly his base. Instead, they are those fair-weather supporters who only want to be around when it seems fashionable; when it’s popular and all the rage. They are ready to move on when things get rocky. They pout and take their ball and go home when things aren’t done the way they want. They are easily distracted or dissuaded. They can’t see past the negative polls and can’t filter the opinions from the facts. They are unsteady and blow with the wind. They are always ready to move on to the next shiny object.

The top photo of President Obama on the tarmac makes me so sad. Sad for him because he’s been given nothing but headaches since tht day in Jan of ’09. The level of disrespect given to him and his family, and even his administration, makes me embarrassed for our country. Countries around the world love and respect him like no other president since Kennedy, yet his own country shows atrocious behavior towards him. I have never wavered my support for President Obama and will continue to so even after he’s left office. The history books will prove that he was one of the greatest presidents this country has ever had. I just hope those writing the history books aren’t conservatives. All I ask is that people make an extra effort to #GOTV. We MUST give him a Congress he can work with and help him complete his agenda the last two years of his term. We MUST do that for him. Please. xo

While I pretty much feel everything you mentioned, I’m thinking President Obama isn’t a bit sad. I’ve never seen a more balanced person on the world stage in my entire life! His grace under pressure and the other long list of personal attributes he shows keep him upright. While I may never understand what got him to that inner peace, it keeps me sane when I think about some of the truths you wrote.

Since it’s hard to describe, I’ll put it back in the hands of our Joe Biden to tell the tale, straight from his heart:

Indeed, JO’B, after listening to his CBC address, he is STILL SAYING: “It’s not about ME, it’s about YOU!” Too many people are determined to see him only as a personality, and not as a visionary who got it long ago that Democracy is for everyone, and we are still trying to build Democracy. It will only happen when Every One of Us takes a role, and stays active. PBO knows very well, knew from the start, he has only so much time to use this window when everyone, even those who seem to hate him, is listening. The crucial part is too many don’t understand that time is running out, Big Money is very close to owning the entire planet, at the same time Big Money is bent on destroying it! How’s that for really weird? People should be scared shitless of what they cannot see, instead of being blinded by the rhetoric of what they see and hear on networks which lack all integrity. We here all know that, the others, seem to be missing the point.

Well the president did what he had to do to save the country, in return it looks like liberals are staying home.
If that’s the case, then it’s our fault when things hit the fan, in the next two years.

Dems should some stay home, my blame goes to them.

You can’t call yourself smart, informed and facts based……yet every little event determines how VOTES are cast?
GOPers Vote, come rain or shine in off year elections.

          It is not over.

Dem Politicians going on some TV telling Us about mission creep are undermining the president. Telling US, don’t do anything without forcefully calling out those who had wrong is foolish.

So called Hosts….Leaning Left…….are not helpful. I get why they are spouting their version of beliefs…..but when US feels insecure…..driven by the Media……the TV hosts and their wishy washy diatribes are dangerous to Dems prospective. But It is not over. The LV change is more the change than when Registered Votes were Used.

It boils down to turn out. If Dems turn out, Dems win……It is that simple.
Last, Most Dem Voters are Not listening to those on TV. They do listen to fake ads, unfortunately.

According to Sam wang and Josh Marshall, the air strikes in Iraq and Syria have resulted in more people wanting to vote for republicans in the fall.
    You’ve gotta be kidding me?
You mean to tell me the American public what’s the republicans bc they feel more comfortable?

    • 117 0388jojothecat
      September 29, 2014 at 3:01 pm

If people vote for republicans so that the USA can spend more money on war, put more soldiers on the ground to fight for indifinate wars, out of fear then we are doomed in the country because the only reason there cooperation from over 50 countries is because of a DEM president.
