I will admit. I’m not the biggest ballet fan. But, from constant prodding from VC, I scoured YouTube for videos of Misty Copeland, and was quite taken. So, for tonight’s Night Owl Chat, a bit of Ms. Copeland
He is saying that because PBO pushed back on every question and knew what he was talking about. PBO make these interviews look effortless because of his intelligence and knowledge.
Consider the source of these reactions — i.e., Jack “Look At Me, I’m A Racist Bigot White Elite Who Expects Everyone To Bow and Kneel In My Presence” Welch) I have no idea who Andrew Stosberg is…
Their POV is never going to change — the stock market could be at record highs, the unemployment rate could have dipped more than 4%, the price of gas could be less than $3/gallon in the majority of states, the rich could be getting richer… and these greedy bastards would still not be satisfied.
Oh, yeah, that’s ALREADY happened.
That’s why I was puzzled by TODville’s reaction to Steve Kroft conducting tonight’s interview.
Consider the alternatives:
– Lara “Benghazi-I’m Married to the Baghdad Bob of Iraqi Consultants” Logan
– Anderson “How Do You Like My Tight T-Shirt” Cooper
– Scott “Did You See My Last Interview With Leon ‘Promotin’ My Book’ Panetta” Pelley
IMHO, Steve Kroft has been fair without being vacuous, unlike that smugly unpleasant, smart-as-a-box-of-rocks upChuck Todd.
Dear Arapaho, my position is they are all corporate shills. Perhaps Kroft is a bit less snarky, disrespectful than the others – it’s immaterial to me.
President Obama is simply brilliant to provide them opportunities to interview him. He then is able to infuriate dudes like Jack Welch who know, full well, that folk who’d never listen to President Obama address the UN or deliver a State of the Union watch 60 Min, MTP, etc., and get a big dose of grown-up facts – the last thing the oligarchs want their minions to hear.
So, my hope is PBO keeps doing these interviews right up to 4 Nov 2014.
Agree. Although I do think that Kroft has a soft-spot for President Obama — he’s done some good work at 60 Minutes, uncovering Senators’ conflict of interest (mostly associated with the Military-Industrial-Complex and stock market insider trading) and other finance stories — I think he’s as mystified as we are why his corporate bosses are so unreasonably bigoted against our President.
I do get frustrated that with the exception of @GovernorOMalley, Dems aren’t embracing President Obama’s record in the face of blatant bigotry and obstruction and with the worst set of conditions since FDR. Things weren’t rosy during the Vietnam Era, but if someone like Barack Obama had won in 1968 (thinking RFK) a lot of the turmoil of the 1970s might have been avoided.
Dems need to campaign on the facts about domestic issues, which President Obama succinctly outlined for them in tonight’s interview.
This is exactly why he continues to go on these shows. He will put up with the idiotic questions coming from the MSM to talk to the American people. As your tag line says, after six years watching President Obama handle the press, TrustBarack!
{{Lib_L}} Thank you, kind sir! Funny thing is I am not a ballet fan either, though I’ve always enjoyed most (other) dancing. For some reason though I liked what I saw of her interpretations one time recently when Bobfr brought her to our attention. If I’m not mistaken it was the second time he had shared a clip on her here – the first time I didn’t watch /so thank you for your persistence, Bfr. 😉 /
I agree. She has, after all, inspired me to watch ballet! 🙂
With influence from you, Lib_L, Dudette, and a few others, I might yet be coaxed into watching the music you all share at night all the way through, instead of skipping after the first 30 secs.
BTW, I think you’d enjoy watching some of the YouTube videos of Alonso King’s “LINES Ballet” – among my most favorite dance companies. Alonso is an amazing person. Some neat interviews of him via YouTube, as well.
I heard the @knx1070 report on the NWS forecast until the end of the year today.
The NWS said that they expect a sub-tropical jet stream due to a weak El Nino, but only southeastern CA will see above-average rainfall through year-end. By southeastern, he was referring to Riverside, San Bernardino and San Diego counties — not sure why he omitted Imperial County — basically the same low-desert area that has been affected by the recent Pacific tropical storms/hurricanes.
He said that the Pacific is seeing greater than usual tropical storm/hurricane activity this year.
JoJo:
Today was spectacular — actually felt like Autumn was here, and the air was crystal clear!
However, I hear the temps will be going back up mid-week. 😦
Thanks for the report. Although SE Calif will get measurable rain I think if No Cal and Nv/Co also gets measurable rain it will benefit L.A. basin’s water supply. If the Sierra’s get above average snow pact we can be good. I was not expecting the rain this morning but it was nice.
You know, JO’B, their comments/hatred/partisanship is not funny, but at times they are funny. They are so unrelentingly negative, at times ridiculously so.
Confession: I completely forgot I had prepared this post last night. Thanks for posting, Nerdy. I’ve felt rather stomach icky all day. So off to sip some tea and crash. See everyone tomorrow.
Among the many reasons we must #OWNthe114th is that it is our solemn duty to perpetuate the CHANGE and sustain the HOPE that President Obama has brought to America.
Just saw this response to David From’s horror tweet on the Clinton’s grandbabe
Dan Savage @fakedansavage Sep 27
.@davidfrum I’m old enough to remember when conservatives tried to get @MHarrisPerry fired for joking about Mitt Romney’s grandchild.
And when stuff like this, the left wing beitway pundits never put up article after article saying that this
Obama policy is a great idea. Nope nada zilch!
And to show you how stupid the public is this right here is Obamas policy.
Then, if you reframe the question, do you support Obamas policy on ISIS? The public would say no.
You might laugh but it happens time and time again.
for LL
Congrats amk 🙂
Thank you NW for featuring Misty Copeland – a magnificent artist and role model!!!
That should read … “Thank you LL …. “
also. too.
She’s a wonderful inspiration to young girls who want to become ballerinas. 🙂
WHAT?!?!? Apparently these two GOPers did not see the same interview that most people saw….delusional as hell…
He’s an idiot. His wackos have a whole damn NETWORK of 24/7 lies and bullshit…another entitled CEO heard from. Who cares what he thinks
He is saying that because PBO pushed back on every question and knew what he was talking about. PBO make these interviews look effortless because of his intelligence and knowledge.
They must really be scared! That right there is amazing and an eye-opener.

Absolutely, sjerrid!!
LL, nice post. I hope vc enjoys it…I have.

Glad you enjoy her artistry, VC. She is stunning both as a dancer and as an inspirational leader.
I agree. She has, after all, inspired me to watch ballet! 🙂

Here’s a little taste ….
Hmmmmm, Bobfr, are you trying to ballet-edumacate the quiet (without quotes) one?
Yep 🙂
Jack, do you STILL question the unemployment numbers and economy improvements months after the election? It must suck to be U!
Thanks for the post about Misty
Thank you, LL and VC for highlighting Misty Copeland. She’s phenomenal.
YW. Lib_L, did a fine job!

You had rain!?!?!
Not a drop here. No dew this morning, no hint of moisture in Ventura County.
A few high clouds and a slight breeze, but NO RAIN!
Yep, it poured in Los Angeles this morning. It was a nice drenching for about an hour. It really cleaned the air.
Timely quote on twitter, eh?
TY 4 ur compliment on twitter. 🙂
Well deserved (you and Donna!). 🙂
You know, JO’B, their comments/hatred/partisanship is not funny, but at times they are funny. They are so unrelentingly negative, at times ridiculously so.
I don’t know how they sleep at night. Truly, I don’t.
Again not funny, but upon reading your comment what sprang immediately to my mind was ‘U.S. axis of evil’.

This one’s a bit quirky (fun).
Now you’re hooked, oh ‘quiet one’ …. 🙂
This is a favorite of mine, for so many reasons!
Loving the Misty AWESOME SAUCE tonight! Thank you LL!
Nite nite all o y’all. Whew. ❤
