Speaking of pizza, I heard on the radio last night that a pizza delivery person was involved in a car accident in the Portland OR area. The driver was OK, and the pizza was delivered by the police who arrived at the scene of the accident.
If you had just ordered pizza and were a bit “buzzed,” how paranoid would you be to see the police at your doorstep? Answer: you’d be paranoid that the cops were at your doorstep and wondering where your munchies were, LOL.
Not implying that you would know anything about this, but figuring you know a buddy or two who might.
Great collection NW…….. I just posted the above tweets at the end of the last thread & went into moderation….but WP decided I was good to go on this one….not a day goes by!
Hi Africa, thanks for sharing your experience with us. It is very, very encouraging to be reminded that, as a result of his commitment, character, AND leadership, Pres O is daily touching many, many lives in North America and around the world.
Today’s speech before the UN General Assembly was historic, our president painting the picture of the fundamental choices facing the international community. Perhaps I missed it, but was a vote planned today on the Security Council Resolution he introduced?
Of the dozens of speeches by world leaders, advocates, and movie stars at the UN climate summit on Tuesday, none garnered as strong a reaction as that of the poet Kathy Jetnil-Kijiner. The 26-year-old from the Marshall Islands, a tiny Pacific nation, recited a poem she wrote for her 7-month-old daughter. To a hushed audience, she told of a homeland under grave threat from a rising ocean: “We look at our children and wonder how they will know themselves or their culture, should they lose our islands.”
The Marshall Islands, which sits about halfway between the US state of Hawaii and Australia, is comprised of a set of low-lying, ring-shaped islands, none higher than 6 feet above sea level. The Marshall Islands’ foreign minister, Phillip Muller, told The Guardian last year, “The longer we wait, I’m afraid we may reach the point of no return.”…continued
See that tweet Chips Chica posted with the video of FLOTUS speaking at the UN education event? YOU ABSOLUTELY HAVE TO GO BACK A COUPLE OF MINUTES [1:34:30] AND LISTEN TO the person who introduced her!!! Clearly, he is not at all enthusiastic about FLOTUS!
No work for me:) Next 2 days off…yippee!! There are a few people I would wait as long as it took…Clooney is one. PBO is another. That goes w/o saying 🙂
Beautiful timing for your days off, Df – you can follow PBO in real time. Conversely, I actually have to go in to work, where I have very little, or no, access to the internet depending on where I’m sent. I’m therefore missing all of the live action./pouting/
Africa, congratulations on your letter.
So proud of you and equally proud of our President.
It is a beautiful crisp night here in NYC for POB and FLTOUS to enjoy a night out here.
We just love it when they are here. I stay away from the downtown traffic.
It is fun to watch how people come alive here at night in this city. I love it when friends visit and sleep late the next day. They just cannot get over the fact that you can and will find something to do all night here. Some even are embarrassed when they sleep until 12:00. Can you imagine that?
Good night sleepy heads. I am watching HUD(1963) Paul Newman.
To say this is disturbing would be an understatement of epic proportions….I’m still trying to process this 30 minutes after originally seeing the video. I can’t believe this is what it has come to. This cop had a dash cam…what about the 1000’s that don’t?
OMG! That is horrible. Why would someone like that become a policeman? This kind of crap is unacceptable. Police are so afraid of everyone having a gun, yet they never support any actions towards reasonable gun legislation.
Most white officers come from working class families. These are the GOP fear and hate voters. They are uneducated and easily manipulated by old racist stereotypes about black folks and other groups.
I tweeted this out with the following statement “white men r extremely dangerous & NOT fit 4 police work in any community. White men from working class and poor families are more likely to go into police work, which means they are more likely to be uneducated and come from families where fear of black skin is a critical part of their social narrative.
Add to that the fact that apparently the white police chiefs feed into the racial stereotyping and fear of “the other,” then add to that certain other conditions – such as the unfair and drummed-up fines and court costs levied daily on the black community in Ferguson, like it’s a freakin’ bank roll for the city, for example – and it’s the perfect storm. This is not now and never has been what a “civilized society” is supposed to look like.
I know few in TODville will see this, but I’m wondering if the MSM is now turning its back on the GOP?
CBS radio news reports on Obama/ISIS tonight aired reporters who said:
1) Majority of air raids versus ISIS oil targets were by Arab partner, not the US.
2) Reference to “Obama’s predecessor to blame” for what’s happening in Iraq/Syria now
November, 4, 2014, here we come. #LandslideDems2014
There was brief news today about Miss Ann talking about the GOP’s love of women and “who said we wouldn’t run in 2016”
And then I watched Michelle Obama (and the delightful man who introduced her) at the UN Education event, talking about the issues facing girls/women and how important it is for them to be educated. Not even 5000 Miss Anns could equate to one Michelle Obama. Like her husband she works tirelessly for those who are less fortunate in our world and achieves success in areas that the Rmoney family don’t even know exist.
GE TOD:
Wait for me….and scoot over!
GE VC…..one or two steps faster and you were there. You can blame the pizza guy (he just delivered my goods) 😎

You think to *highly* of me 😎
Did you save me a slice – that doesn’t have anchovies on it?
Anchovies??? I’ve been vegetarian my entire life….thank god!
Great collection NW…….. I just posted the above tweets at the end of the last thread & went into moderation….but WP decided I was good to go on this one….not a day goes by!
Thanks.
Glad you were able to post.
WP is the devil’s spawn.
I just picture that ugly beast of an individual from ‘The Strain’ when referring to WP 👿 👿 👿
LOL. The Master, his right-hand man, or his minions?
Right hand German man w/o his face….ugly SOB

Yes and 105 countries signed on.
That cat would scare the hell out of me.
I am happy that this cat is in Norway and not here!
Good Evening TODVille.
Too beautiful for words! ❤ Goodnight TOD. Thank you.
Gorgeous! I love kitties >^..^<
This one has a sweet face, but all that fur! I would go through a sticky pet roller a day! 🙂

Take a few minutes to watch this….Her poem begins around the 2:30 mark…the accompanying visuals (w/her poem) are included in the link
Appreciate your sharing this here, LPlains – today was a busy day for me and if you had not highlighted this very moving poem I would have missed it.
Thank you so much for sharing this, LP.

vc, what an introduction of our FLOTUS. It’s clear someone else besides us think alot of FLOTUS.
Wasn’t it just GREAT, Annieb??!!! 😀 😀 🙂
And FLOTUS looks so lovely and speaks so well – they both give so much to the community – a joy to listen to both.
This woman is a badass:
Did anyone watch Rachel or O’Donnell tonight?
No, thanks. Done with her – taking a break from him.
no. did you? I didn’t want to hear more of their BS
I’m waiting for Clooney too 😀
Thanks NW!
He’s been waiting for *YOU* for hours, GGail! 🙂
Well done, NW 🙂
Fine selection of tweets, as always
Thanks, Bob.
Oooooooo baby! Thanks NW, I’ll go to sleep with a smile on my face 😀 😀
Move over! Make room:)

No work for me:) Next 2 days off…yippee!! There are a few people I would wait as long as it took…Clooney is one. PBO is another. That goes w/o saying 🙂

Sorry sweet 😦 Catch up here when you get home….you know the drill:)

😳 Mme Grouchy here forgot to wish you ‘happy days’ for your time off – do enjoy every moment!
No worries, vc! Will do…and you have a good day at work tomorrow, too. Really 🙂
Thanks. Am signing off in another minute
Sigh, yes vc, I do have work tomorrow and this is one of the best night caps :-:
Two stuck … maybe this will sneak through ….
Will just post these 1 at a time instead of two since it appears the other post evaporated ….
yet again ……….
You’re free, Sir Bob.

Ms. Dudette, I pray all is well.
Night all…
It had to be Faux News.
who else?
Fabulous!
OMG!!!!!! I can’t believe what I just saw.
I was speechless. That officer appears he is afraid of his damn shadow
To say this is disturbing would be an understatement of epic proportions….I’m still trying to process this 30 minutes after originally seeing the video. I can’t believe this is what it has come to. This cop had a dash cam…what about the 1000’s that don’t?

Thank God for PBO.
Thanks to TODville and @jeffersonobama’s twitter timeline, I got a good sense of how much MSNBC is floundering now.
@jeffersonobama’s timeline is a joy to behold (along with RT’s of people who are now clicking “off” MSNBC).
Here’s a sampling:
(apparently @Ron_Fournier refers to President Obama as a “pacifist” — yeah, right, that’s why emoprogs @Maddow and @chrislyhayes are in a lather now):
