Night owl chat – The Velvet Underground

The old joke is that 3,000 people bought “The Velvet Underground & Nico”—and half of them formed bands because of its influence. A bit of Lou Reed, John Cale, and friends.

    #TrustBarack

#OWNthe114th …. because if you don’t, what you witness Putin doing to Ukraine will pale in comparison to what the #KOCH #Kleptocrats will do to YOU, your family and America. No Hype. No Joke.

    good night TOD

I’ve never been the victim of domestic violence, but so much of the interviews following the NFL cases seem to be going back to putting the onus on the victims. Yes, the spotlights are on the players, but again the victims are being asked the eternal question, “Why did you stay?” Not sure all of the players will ever be interviewed not only admitting fully to their violent behavior, but actually saying or doing something that might resonate with others who have totally lost self-control in their homes and could hear from these celebrities not to emulate them … that not only is it illegal, but it’s harmful and life-threatening to their partners and children. That it’s far from “manly.” Not sure I’m making myself clear, but I’m not much of a “blame the victim” type person, even if it’s unintentional by those asking “Why did you stay?” and maybe not sounding that way to anybody but me!

It sounds just fine to me JoB – in just too many cases when a woman leaves an abusive man – she dies at his hand – if she attacks him she has to prove – way beyond “reasonable doubt” that it was self defense.
