Morning. Glad you had a great Saturday, but mine is just starting. Gray skies, rain expected, so have to generate all the sunshine internally. Hope your “Sunday” is a good one. Mornin’, Chips.

Via BJ – seems the NYT is having second thoughts about the elections

“But today the Democratic path to victory looks as clear as it has at any point this year.”

That same thought occurred to me, Lovepolitics. And I thought this week’s address about ISIL was better than the nationally televised address the other evening. The information he shared was clearer and he seemed more relaxed and definitely looked better. Someone should tell his staff to rein in their makeup person. A man of his looks and elegance doesn’t need heavy skin and eye makeup.

I smiled last night every time I heard the gop lead msm report of this dialog. They purposely left out where the girl says he’s better. Ha!

Good news from Ill-i-noise——-Dem incumbent Gov. Quinn has substantial 11 pt. lead on bazillionaire—‘privatize everything’ Repub challenger Rauner, per new Trib poll. Altho voters seem to not be overjoyed with Quinn (thanks years long anti-Quinn media campaign), they still prefer him over “lower the minimum wage”, $140,000 wine club member Rauner.

Okay, as a community, we all need to rally around amk. He is obviously suffering and unfortunately, it looks like his response is to try to make us suffer.

Perhaps if we each came up with something similar, he would see the folly of his ways. For example:

Why don’t you throw stones at a Tyrannosaurus Rex
You never want to make a dinosaur.

Good morning, Chips, Danny, NW and TODers. It’s officially the weekend!

I get emails from the most conservative radio station in Chicago, The home of the infamous Joe Walsh. They are sponsoring a Freedom Summit with Joe, Sean Hannity, Bobby Jindahl and others. Apparently tickets aren’t moving well:

And we got it done. Tickets are now 50% off the original prices, with tickets now starting at just $27. There’s no reason for you NOT to attend this great event. We need every member of the Walsh Freedom Army to join us! With these ticket prices, this event is sure to sell out fast, so don’t wait. Get your tickets today!

Here are the new ticket prices, now available:

Should ask if they have an option that includes the food but doesn’t allow listening to the speakers. That might sell a few tickets.

japa21,I would tell them that if everything were free and you sent a limousine to pick me up I still wouldn’t attend. If I wanted to be put to sleep, I could take a sleeping pill instead of listen to Bobby Jindal.

You should go whole enchilada and buy the “full access” and tell them my jokes (I have a whole stack of’em that I can email to you). That should turn the other attendees off gop for ever.

      See? I can be useful.

ROTFLMAO! Japa you must be thrilled to receive these emails. I’m sure you’ve already purchased the highest priced ticket and cancelled all your weekend plans for this lovely and exciting conference! 🙂 🙂

    Good Morning Chipsticks…TOD Family!!!

I see that the jokes were flying this morning. Some made me groan, but I did get a couple of chuckles too. 😀

I hope that is an indication of the start to a nice, relaxing weekend for everyone.

LOL – Piers Morgan’s Twitter page…that pic from since 2011 Christmas with PBO & FLOTUS.

I think he envisions himself as a surrogate son of the First Couple. That son they’ve always wanted…someone that PBO could go baseball games with…someone to help FLOTUS with the gardening activities…an older brother and role model for the girls… 🙂 🙂

This is the same deceptive polling method used when the media tells us that PBO is “unpopular” or that his Presidency is a failure….

LV model? The whites do turnout better during midterms, don’t they?

      • 79 hopefruit2
        September 13, 2014 at 10:40 am

Yes, BUT…this 2014 model is showing more whites than actually turned out in 2010!!!

Unless the pollsters are in on some fraud or underhanded voter suppression of minorities, there’s just no way this is likely or even possible.

      • September 13, 2014 at 10:42 am

Yes but not 82%. They’re saying that only 7% AA show up.
If that’s true then we deserve to have SS and obamacare repealed.
That’s pathetic and if true we have only ourselves to blame if Ayn Rand gets elected.

Jovie, I could not agree more with your statement. I’m sick and tire of the guy that gets paid every two weeks like I do and goes out and vote Republican. The Republicans don’t even hide their disdain for the working class anymore, and yet there are people out there that are two paychecks away from oblivion voting Republican.

    • September 13, 2014 at 10:42 am

Many of the polls are based on the *most likely* voters. I guess choosing a sampling based on that criteria (plus a deliberate attempt to skew the outcome) would generate a GOP desired result.

All the more reason for “less likely” voters see through GOP’s deception and attempts of discouragement and GOTV.

      • 83 hopefruit2
        September 13, 2014 at 10:58 am

Yes, but understand what Houle is saying. Even with this LV model – these pollsters are claiming/assuming that the proportion of LV whites in 2014 will exceed that who actually turned out in 2010 when teabaggery on the right and ratfuckery on the left were at their highest.

This is preposterous – The current demograhics alone do not support this model. – even voter suppression would not lead to a 5% increase in white voters over 2010 levels – that’s just plain wacky.

        • September 13, 2014 at 11:05 am

I think that’s where the deceive and discourage strategy comes into play. Deceive the uninformed and hope that they are discouraged enough to feel that their vote doesn’t count.

Unfortunately for the GOP, there is enough arrogance among their ranks that they are being open about their attempt(s) to suppress votes and who they are targeting. This does more to motivate than discourage.

          • 85 hopefruit2
            September 13, 2014 at 11:08 am

I believe that this “deceive & discourage” tactic may have worked superbly in 2010, and even in some years prior.

It was attempted in 2012 but did not work because PBO was on the ballot. In 2013 it didn’t work because people had enough info & and awareness to counteract these negative polling and MSM narratives.

And it’s not going to work in 2014 despite valiant efforts by the MSM/GOP/ProLeft contingent….
