Okay, I either have arthritis in my left middle finger (shut up Chips), or I somehow damaged it. It’s been hurting for about a month now if I put any pressure on it.

I just unfollowed @Iboudreau (Ian Actual). I don’t like his passive-aggressive stance where PBO is concerned. And he just tweeted a very nasty pic supposedly depicting PBO claiming that it’s his “timeline” but it was not a retweet, so it originated from him.

I missed the first half which probably contained more details, but I really like how he tied in everything we have done in reaction to negative events and why we are the best suited country to lead this fight. Plus, the way he put a lot of responsibility on other countries.

I so love this incredible president and was so moved by his remarks. We are truly blessed to have him leading this country and should be grateful that we are all living through this amazing era of his leadership. If ugly, stupid, hateful people want to make something of this speech that it was not, then we know them for what they are. It was clear; it was incisive. And only the willfully ignorant could ask anything more of their commander in chief.

ABC, NBC and PBS did. Don’t know about CBS. We watched ABC, but never listen to commentators. We mute until PBO starts, and mute again as soon as he’s through. He was FANTASTIC!!! If people don’t understand him, it’s not his fault!

      • September 10, 2014 at 9:31 pm

Richard Engel sent me right to CNN, which I left once The Newster Gingrich took the mic to make a comment. Engel’s comment on the “oversimplification” of the ISIL crisis was too much for my senses.

        September 10, 2014 at 9:35 pm

Richard Engel is lucky he is safe, there are a lot of times in his reporting that I think he should take up arms and join whatever fight he is reporting on. HE always says the US should do this, do that. Report the news, not your opinion. What is his frigging problem? the US can’t solve everything, people of other nations have to STAND THE HELL UP, ITS THERI FIGHT TOO.

Nena, so right off the bat, these numskulls reveal themselves for what they are: narrow-minded, prejudiced, incapable of hearing or learning. In my book, that makes their opinions about as useful as bat poop.

Exactly what I thought. I listened on c-span. Switched to MSNBC for 2-3 minutes. Then immediately changed to HGTV. 🙂 🙂 🙂

      Good job, Mr. President!!!!!

Gergen and Matthews hated the speech. Who gives a dam, really. POTUS, Kerry, Hagel and all the other people who are working hard to make this a success are out there trying to do their job, Gergen and Matthews aren’t doing a dam thing but filling tv air space. And Engel is just like Matthews and Gergen.

    • September 10, 2014 at 9:28 pm

Kasai, You are doing the right thing. One network is translating in English what the President has just said. Another is analyzing every word (not every sentence), hence getting lost in translation.

I have to keep reminding myself that those are people paid to talk. And since they cannot engage their little minds in doing serious research and intellectually stimulating work, they simply chat using the same talking points across the major networks.

No leader on the planet or in any era in history would give detailed plans on military maneuvers to the public. This is so stupid on the part of the media that it verges on imbecilic. Do they want the airstrikes to fail, for Americans to be killed, for ISIL to win? I can only guess that they are so filled with hate that they would actually root against their country. Despicable, corrupt, depraved creatures is what they are.

    • September 10, 2014 at 9:37 pm

If some in the media want to know more details of air strikes, why not encourage them to board those drones and send them over these hyenas. In fact, they can just buy their own tickets and walk over into Syria. Some American fools have done just that. The media need to be encouraged to travel straight into the ISIL territory and obtain all the details they want.

Wanted to share what I wrote in response to Nancy Pelosi’s solicitation of money resulting from the RWNJ’s blocking the Citizens United vote.
    RE: DISGUSTED

    Nancy,
Believe me, we are too! Please tell your Democrats to get more exposure on the cable news shows. We hear nothing from them. They do not stand up for the President and they do not stand up for us. I have been supporting the President since 2007 and support many Senate and House Democrats, even though they are not in my district or my state, but I am very upset at them in general. We should have been exposing the Koch brothers and their friends all along. The Dems have run away from supporting Obamacare until it was showing success, they have run away from a call for a minimum wage, they have not been bragging about the huge improvement in the economy, or trade agreements, or foreign policy. They certainly did not get out there and defend the President on the IRS or Benghazi. They didn’t even defend him for rescuing Beau Bergdahl. I preach this to Debbie Wasserman Schultz in the House too. Until Democrats stand together, step up and create sound bites that reach people, the little dollars people like me can contribute is a drop in the bucket.

Does the MSM realistically expect the President to layout ALL the detail of his strategy for EVERYONE to hear?

The President laid out his strategy at a reasonable level of detail. The detail that the MSM is expecting would compromise the mission. Do they not get that?!?!?!?!?

PBO did not deliver this speech for the pundits. He informed the American people of what his plans are. Personally, whenever I see pundits or journalists discussing ISIL, I don’t listen or watch. PBO has inside information and I only listen to what he or his National security team says.

      • 142 jackiegrumbacher
        September 10, 2014 at 9:49 pm

Exactly, COS. If pundits were the audience, he would have delivered his remarks in the WH press room. Instead, he talked directly to the American people. I hope the vast majority of Americans listened to the president and then clicked off and went back to their regularly scheduled programs. Who needs someone to tell you what you already heard.

Little McLoss is on CNN doing some blemish history, arguing leaving massive US troop presence in Iraq. He wants more troops on the ground! I simply wish that he would enlist now, not tomorrow, not Monday, just now. And he may invite Lindsey Graham because I know that Cindy McCain would not follow him.

I prefer to see how local news handles things like this because they do get a larger following than the cable networks, and it is interesting to see the difference.
WGN is the largest independent TV station in Chicago and one of the biggest in the country.
So far I have seen them have on a terrorism expert who is a professor at a local college and a retired LT COL. Important to realize these are not people looking to make the big bucks or end up talking to the likes of Tweety.
Both of them were very positive towards what the President has been doing and what he outlined tonight. Basically, they both said it was the only strategy with a real chance of succeeding.
